  1. One of the best things I've read on this site. "Masters of the rear view window". Love it. It doesn't take a genius to process next year's schedule through last year's team.
  2. A speedy back slows down the pass rush, moves the chains and maybe puts unexpected points on the board with a big run or a screen pass. I agree with whomever posted the number 4.28. Speed is everything in this league.
  3. That, and a quarter...... As Nix said 'they have talent at QB'. They do. They need the defense to get off the field so we can see one of those QBs. The Bills had minimal front 7 talent and had to address it.
  4. At least 32 teams did not have a franchise grade on Clausen. If he was that good, he would have been selected in the 1st even by a team set at QB. Plus, he seems like a 1st class Ahole. I think you wanted the hype of a franchise QB more than you wanted Clausen. He's not the guy.
  5. This group of QBs needs no further analysis. They either step up or they're out of the NFL.
  6. That is CLASSIC. A great representation of board genius. I think we should just cut all draft picks taken before this year so we can really start fresh.
  7. It has been reported that there was a shooter in the grassy knoll. It has been reported that Brett Favre is retired. It has been reported that Dewey defeated Truman. Back to Aaron Maybin........
  8. Is it out of the realm of possibility that a high round arrogant and immature QB "finds himself" in another city??? I'm not saying Brohm is the next anybody, but it has happened before. On THIS team especially, it's worth a look.
  9. Few things are more useless than opinions about history.
  10. About 1/2 the mocks had Maybin going pick 10-15. He was not a reach. Derrius Heyward Bay was a reach. John McCargo was a reach. I don't remember any credible mocks pushing Maybin into the 2nd round.
  11. Maybin had zero sacks BECAUSE he barely saw the field in 09. I'm trying, quite unsuccesfully, to point out that Orakpo was not a defensive end. Many folks on these board seem to assume that to take Orakpo instead of Maybin and he would've had 10 sacks for that Bills team. And that drives me nuts. He was a rush linebacker and he was all they had. Maybin was a lightweight DE behind 3 very experienced grownup DEs. Who knows what he is at this point. It is absolute hysteria to label Maybin a bust after last year, but, whatever....you guys are the experts.
  12. History is, more or less, bunk.
  13. And this is why I threw out the Maybin/Orakpo discussion. Maybe I'll just wait till there's something to talk about.
  14. Okay, I give up. Maybin is a career failure after his 50 snaps at the wrong position and Orakpo is the better than LT. The most sane thing said above was we should have picked Oher. That need screamed way louder than the need for either of the above. Anyhoo, it's better that talking about 1991, Chan Gailey's barber or the merits of picking up Jamarcus Russell. Thank you for entertaining my thought. Resume hysteria.
  15. I am not defending Aaron Maybin, although I think he has to be better at LB. I am saying that it's ignorant to compare a LBs stat against a DE. Like you know Orakpo would have had 10 plus sacks on the Bills as a DE. I truly apologize for pointing out your ignorance. Go on about your whining and bitching.
  16. Brian Orakpo played LINEBACKER last year on a team devoid of linebackers. Aaron Maybin's bosses put him at DEFENSIVE END on a team with veteran defensive ends. Orakpo probably would have had similar production on the Bills as the coach was trying to save his job. Another interesting Orakpo stat: He had 8 or so of his 11 sacks against the likes of Oakland, Tampa, KC and Detroit with NO sacks and about 8 total tackles in 6 games against the NFC EAST. To compare Maybin's '09 season to Orakpo is like comparing Malcolm Jenkins to Jairus Byrd.
  17. Seriously, WHO WRITES THAT MUCH!!. If you have a case of diarrhea, go to the bathroom.
  18. Is Gaither even that good? If he is that good, why does Baltimore draft Oher. If he is that good, why is he no longer the LT on that team?
  19. If you're truly DONE, you're not on this board. Look at what these guys are doing and discuss whether it's better than what the other guys did. That being said, I hope they play their roster and build from within. Whether it be LT or QB, needs are rarely satisfied from other rosters.
  20. Well, he wasn't on our roster last year and we have heard of him before, so he MUST be an upgrade. If nothing else, I can't wait till they draft a QB with a #1 pick so we can stop having these Russell-Orton-Moore-Quinn discussions. With rare exceptions, great QBs do not change teams until they're not great any more. I'm willing to wait for great.
  21. Oh my god....there are sooo many things I find wrong with this statement. Fina was horrible. Maybe he verged on serviceable. Mike Gandy was serviceable. Jason Peters was serviceable. We need to draft better and not get swayed by the Flozell Adams' and the Marcus Spears' of the world.
  22. I hate when people say 'Nuff said. It's like your point was SOOO good, there's nothing left to say. Whitner isn't nearly as bad as the point you're trying to make. You hang a guy's assessment on a play 2 years ago in a 'run for the bus' game. Christ! How about this- #1 - Whitner is versatile - He can match up against 90% of WRs/TEs and RBs in the passing game: #2 - He is uber experienced behind some of the worst defensive lines in recent memory; and #3 - He plays with passion
