  1. How is it that Byrd missing 6 games with plantar faciitis doesn't hurt him on the open market?
  2. Aaron Murray. QB. Georgia. If you can get me a QB who completes more than 63% of his passes in the SEC and throws for 13,000 yards AND you can get him in the 4th on down, I don't care how tall he is. I think you want someone better than Tuel in the hole to develop in case EJ falters. I sincerely believe that QB will come this year in the 4th round. Maybe 5th.
  3. I think the Bills will tag Byrd and trade him. On a team with 4 consecutive 6-10 seasons, I don't think Whaley will pony up the $10M/year it would take to keep Byrd here and I'm sure the recurrence of plantar fasciitis is directly caused by tagus franchisa. So, as much as I hate watching the Bills' best players walk in exchange for a crapshoot of a draft pick, I think that is where he's headed. How about St. Louis? They're still heavy on draft picks, no?
  4. How about at 9 after a trade up with the Bills. I Think Donald is on the hype train up to the top 10.
  5. Great point!! All this dead money is a genius way for a team to underspend. For all that is said about Fitzpatrick, the Bills haven't actually paid HIM anything since 2012. Until the Bills are a lot better, dead money should be a non issue and there's little upper echelon talent to get them near the cap. I think they should probably pay Byrd, but assets at the draft wouldn't be awful.
  6. Can't do it. Not even in February. Can't engage about TJ Graham.
  7. Dumb article. The Bills Offense stinks because of bad players on offense. Really?
  8. Good call. Depending on what Borland does in the next 2 months, he could be in the conversation as well. Van Noy looks like a playmaker tho.
  9. Great post on Van Noy. He looks skinny, but that is a good highlight package dotted with rush skills, ball skills and good tackling. Kyle Van Noy huh….
  10. I don't get it. I'll be looking at this a lot over the next couple of months.
  11. Bandit….What do you see in Borland that Skov doesn't have? Let's get to the bottom of this... Mind you…I'm not stumping for Skov, I'm just reacting to what I saw in their highlight reels and Skov looked like more of a playmaker. What say you?
  12. I'm just referring to the link off Nanker's post above. I don't know what to call them. Clips. Videos. Tapes. Apologies if I got it wrong. What I don't think I got wrong is: Skov>Borland. I like Skov to the Bills in the 2nd. Drop down 10-15 spots in the 1st and get your Olineman and a TE in the 2nd and I would be doing backflips (not even remotely possible).
  13. Okay…so I watched Ohio State. I still see a lot of running around blocks and having little impact on plays. He's super active. Has a "good motor". I can't pretend to be an expert on the guy, but based on those 2 games, I see more to be concerned about than to be excited about. I also watched a few tapes of Skov and I liked him better. Just seemed like more of a factor in more plays.
  14. I would take that in a heartbeat. He's a player who, when it gets tough, goes away. For whatever reason.
  15. Pete Carroll said something about Russell Wilson that applies to Chris Borland: "He's been that size his whole life and he's found a way to get it done". It's not like the Big 10 (Big 16?) has smaller linemen. I certainly wouldn't dismiss him due to size alone. 1st of all, thanks Nanker for posting the links. I just watched Borland against Arizona State. If you saw it, I don't know how you can arrive at any other conclusion: PASS. Looked like JAG to me.
  16. Whaley's MO is the OPPOSITE of bold. Let the draft come to you. Let the dust settle in free agency. If he's truly following the old Pittsburgh model, Byrd will walk. They'll draft a linebacker in the 2nd or 3rd every year….and they'll be better than you think they're going to be. The ONLY reasonably bold move out there is to release Stevie. The Bills are not going to get a 1st for Spiller (or a 2nd…or a 3rd). The Bills are not going to trade up in the draft.
  17. I get your point, but that 11-5 defense was gashed by the likes of Geno Smith, Brandon Weeden and the great Bobby Rainey. The defense was inconsistent and overall decent. But I guess that looks like 11-5 after what we've been looking at the past few years.
  18. 6-10. They had a 6-10 running game. That's what I saw.
  19. Lazy thinking….too much thinking if you ask me ( I know you didn't). I know what I saw. No doubt the Bills QB play hurt more than any other factor. But I never had the feeling that the Bills could run the ball consistently to get a 1st down, get a touchdown or win a game. I think the stats are what losers point to to feel good about something. I do it too. But I'm sick of justifying anything this team does until it ends up in a win. The bottom line is this offense did not get it done in 2013 and it wasn't just the QB.
  20. I completely baffled by those who are even somewhat satisfied with the Oline. The are indisputably weak at 2 positions and have zero depth. Only an occasional Spiller long run and Fred Jackson's refusal to go down made their stats respectable. I've been around since OJ and I think it's one of the worst group of bartenders ever to line up on the O-line. This debate of why the Bills are 6-10 is old .
  21. Not gonna happen. The team that gave away Lynch will not bring in Britt. It would be a disaster.
  22. I disagree on the Oline. They have a void at LG, just decent at RG and nearing a void at RT. Throw in the fact that the Bills have an injury prone C and NO depth to speak of, I think the Oline is brutal and could be what's holding this team back.
  23. I'm not in favor of that. Playmakers are so rare and Watkins is that. You're not going to get him or anything like him at any position at 30 or in the 2nd. And I presume the 'bust factor' escalates as you move down. I look at it this way: If Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitz or hell Andre Reed was available at 9…..you take him. You don't trade down and settle for lesser playmakers. That being said, SW better be a special talent and a great kid for the Bills to take ANOTHER WR with the huge holes they have elsewhere.
