  1. It's a message to the rest of the team and an acknowledgement that the ONLY reason he's under contract is because he had no choice last year but to sign a contract. He had no leverage. Not 10M, but at least a decent number for a top 10 back. It's a reward and a message.
  2. What does a guy have to do? Pay the man!!! Anyone else?
  3. I hear you. The nice thing about Fitz appears to be that Spiller could be the primary target if he was open. QB's in the past seemingly couldn't see the field.
  4. He had 6 touches ranging from 7-26 yards I think. That's the value of having many focal points. Whether that "lives up" to the 9th pick will forever be debated. But if Spiller keeps the safeties a little deeper and makes linebackers forget about David Nelson and Chandler at key times, he is very valuable to this offense.
  5. Here's what Gailey said- “The thing that goes unnoticed sometimes is we had him in there on a couple of plays where two people ran out there with him,” said Gailey. “All of a sudden something else is open. So he’s having an impact beyond just touching the ball. People know he’s in there, they know where he is and what he’s capable of.” I little fodder for those who dismissed this same assertion made around here last week. Because we all know Spiller is a bust...right?
  6. I think the grand master plan of the Bills braintrust was to beat the Raiders last week. It has nothing to do with this week. If Merriman CAN be beastly, it will help every week. Obviously he can't yet.
  7. Never gave us more than a glimpse. He was kinda like Jeff Nixon. I'd say that we'll miss him, but he was rarely here. Next man up.
  8. Grow a beard because Fitz does? That's about as crazy as me shaving my head like Stevie J.
  9. Bad answer. Although McKelvin didn't play the ball well, at least he was with his guy. Besides, DBs have little to do with beating Tom Brady. The only way to beat him is keep him off the field and provide SOME pressure from the front 4 when he is on the field. Put another way, even if we had Deion Sanders on one side and Charles Woodson on the other, Brady would do what he does unless there is some pressure on him. Brady will light it up this weekend.
  10. Fitz is NOT Kelly. But he's not Rob Johnson either. I'll admit that I was wrong about fitzgenious. He's a football player.
  11. +1. George Wilson is supposed to be deep help. I know you're all going to love this, but I'm thinking Whitner breaks that pass up.
  12. I kinda just figured if he got a contract and is a starter, there has to be a reason. Good to see some evidence on Sunday, but he still was part of a defense that put little pass rush on and gave up 450 yards. I can't get too happy with him.
  13. Anyone else want to admit CJ Spiller looked good with his 15.8 YPC or is he still the whipping boy? Oh...forgot about McKelvin. Spiller gets a week off. Seriously, it looked like #28 was starting to see it yesterday.
  14. Dunno that I have ever seen Nelson drop a ball. I just love the chemistry Fitz has with Nelson and Johnson.
  15. +1. Unless he's a special teams demon, I wouldn't be surprised if he's cut.
  16. Didn't see it discussed elsewhere, but that win doesn't happen if Jones doesn't swat that ball out of DB's hands in the endzone. Props to Jones for staying with the play and bailing out Fitz. Also, agree with poster in another thread who suggested Parrish and Martin go away and bring in Roosevelt and Aiken. I kinda like our young receiving corps.
