  1. Troup and Kyle Williams on every snap
  2. Basically a 4-3 with 3 tackles and Kelsay
  3. Troup getting a lot of snaps
  4. Cornell Green needs to be cut. Football genius nix and "up and comer" Whaley can't admit that error though.
  5. Eric Wood's development was obviously stunted by his injury and I hope he will develop into one of the top guards in football, but he sucks right now. He gets no push in the run game and his immobility is increasingly targeted through stunts and interior blitzes on passing downs. Demetrius Bell is further towards becoming a serviceable lineman at this stage of his career.
  6. Your post is unintelligible. A 3rd round pick is worth more than a 4th and 6th. After 3 rounds, the chance of hitting on your picks drops significantly. And the Marshawn trade may have been stupid because they didn't shop around for a better deal (Glazer). Do you know why? Because he's untradable. No one will pick up his contract. To get rid of him, we'd have to cut him. More games like the Jets and that might happen.
  7. Don't worry -- you couldn't possibly have as many misses as Tom Modrak.
  8. John Guy never made a pro personnel move as dubious as bringing in Cornell Green for $3 million per year.
  9. Not sure if it's happened yet but someone is sure to tell you incognito didn't want to be here Like that matters given the alternative is not playing football. But they'll let you know.
  10. This is kind of ridiculous when you think of the guys we've passed on. I'm not talking about Tom Brady in the 6th round. I'm talking about Whitner over Ngata, Maybin over Orakpo, Poz over David Harris, Hardy over Desean Jackson, Lynch over Revis only to take McKelvin over Clady the next year. How about Kelsay over Osi Umenyiora in 2003? Osi was the next DE off the board. Anyway, the drafts have been an annual nightmare. Your baseline is totally wrong -- when you pick a guy in the first and second round, he should be able to "play in this league." The question is whether he's a difference maker or not.
  11. This is where you're wrong. I'd rewatch the game to clense this thought from your head. As Mark Gaughan's article states, the guards and center were able to engage LBs with ease. That can't happen if you're D Lineman are performing well. In fact, their key function is to keep offensive linemen off of linebackers. The way Troup got tossed, in particular, is hugely troubling for anyone who thinks this unit may become a strength of the team in the near-term. Overpaid Stroud has checked out, Spencer Johnson got run over for hundreds of yards yesterday, and Carrington was lost when he was on the field. Why create holes for your team to fill? Forget decent replacements. Why not use FA and the draft to fix problem positions rather than replace guys you let get away?
  12. Football Genius Buddy Nix's solution to the offensive line problem was signing Cornell Green -- worse than any of John Guy's UFA acquisitions -- and drafting a giant Chinese dude. His solution for fixing the defense was re-upping Kelsay, drafting a nose tackle listed at 315 who gets pushed around like a 280-lb DE, and drafting a small school DE who cannot beat out Spencer Johnson for snaps. This 71 year old was never given a chance at GM during his 35-year football career for a reason.
  13. This is stupid. There is no one on the team whose play would allow them to lead. Whitner has all of the leadership intangibles you could ever ask for. But he doesn't make any plays, so guys could blow him off. In fact, I think you have it exactly backwards. The problem with the teams is TOO MUCH emphasis on character guys who have leadership skills and too little emphasis on athleticism and talent.
  14. Withhold judgment! IT's the same front office. Okay, John Guy was canned, but even John Guy didn't make decisions so bad as signing Cornell Green for $3 million per year. Otherwise it's the same front office. SOme title changes and promotions. That's it.
  15. Allen Wilson suggested that the Bills could not trade Evans because no one would be willing to accept his contract. Lots of teams would love him for about half that, I'm sure.
  16. Talent sucks, but George Wilson is a guy who was fired as a position coach in the NFL. Why would he be a good coordinator?
  17. Allen Wilson suggested the Bills could not trade Evans because no other team would accept his contract. Crazy, but the one trade chip we've got is so dramatically overpaid that we can't even move him.
  18. I know it's crazy to say, but several of these guys are reaches. Certainly Wood and Levitre have yet to demonstrate they're more deserving of starting spots this season than Demetrius Bell. McKelvin looks great and then gets exposed -- not what I'd like as a starter when we run man coverage. Whitner really looks worse than George Wilson to me and certainly Bryan Scott so I don't see that at all.
  19. Evans has checked out. He doesn't even run at full speed out of breaks, and loses concentration regularly. In his recent chat, Allen Wilson said the Bills can't deal Evans because no one is willing to accept his contract. It's totally insane that we pay him and Stroud about $17 million combined per season.
  20. Football Genius Buddy Nix decided the way to fix the offensive line was to sign a guy who led the league in penalties in Oakland and draft a Chinese dude in the 5th round of the draft. Yeah, I mean, how could that miss. Oh, and his 2010 draft has produced NOTHING thus far.
  21. The fact that Carrington has been a healthy scratch through 3 weeks and can't get more than 15 snaps in a game when the team is giving up 278 yards on the ground is a pretty good sign about his talent level, though, right?
  22. At the very least, rewatch try to watch the Tomlinson TD run and the other snaps when Troup was in the game before calling this thread stupid. It is extremely disappointing to see the way these guys played today. If you want to blow that off and think it's too early to make any judgment about players, or that it's just natural for rookies to get blown off the ball, etc. go ahead.
  23. Exactly. WTF? These guys suck...let's sign a guy run our of Oakland who sucks and draft some Chinese dude in the 5th round. PROBLEM SOLVED.
  24. Right. The Cover 2 scheme is what allowed our defense to keep explosive passing offenses under wraps. The problem was defending the run. Now we have 3 DL on the field instead of 4 and play more man. So we're every bit as bad against the run but now also such against the deep passing game as well.
