  1. Some posters sure do have their panties in a bunch this morning....
  2. Please, tell us more Mr. Wizard....
  3. And you are better than this. Turning an inarticulately worded question, that came off sounding stupid, into something more than it was.
  4. Such a specious argument and disingenuous use of stats. First, you cannot use the world's population as a basis for percentage, as the spread of the virus hasn't been the same in all countries and over the entire population. However, for the sake of argument, if the virus equally spread throughout every country in the world, let's just look at some of the countries similar to us and how they are faring based on the world's population: Italy has 9.39 times as many cases as they should and 18.20 times as many deaths Spain has 13.81 times as many cases as they should and 20.95 times as many deaths France has 7.49 times as many cases as they should and 14.14 times as many deaths Belgium has 11.58 times as many cases as they should and 24.70 times as many deaths Germany has 5.51 times as many cases as they should and 2.65 times as many deaths The UK has 5.84 times as many cases as they should and 11.19 times as many deaths These countries combined (roughly equal to population of the US) have 8.02 times as many cases as they should and 12.7 times as many deaths The United States has 7.40 times as many cases as they should and 5.79 times as many deaths Hmmmmm, it seems we are closer to Germany than we are to the others (particularly in deaths). I seem to remember you going on and on about what a great example Germany was.
  5. Democrats might want to take a break for their own sanity. Maybe they should just follow Joe Biden's sage advice: “It’s not that they don’t want to help. They don’t know what quite to do: Play the radio… make sure you have the record player on...” and just chill the **** out....
  6. Well, if you are not worried about people actually ingesting bleach, then why all the hand wriniging? The way I see it, he was just Trump being Trump: Asking a question in his typical "stream of consciousness," inarticulate way that came off sounding stupid - but that any reasonably intelligent human being knew he wasn't suggesting to literally inject bleach. It wasn't a bad plan, because it wasn't a plan at all. It was just a question that sounded dumb. And if dumb questions or statements really bother you that much, you might not want to have the sound on while you are watching Joe Biden. But hey, if this is where you want to focus your outrage, be my guest. Why doesn't this surprise any of us?
  7. Aren't there already warnings on bleach? Since we know that democratic voters were the ones that thought ingesting fish cleaner was a good idea, maybe it would be more useful if doctors worked directly with the democratic party putting together PSAs for their constituents on things that, against their better judgement, they shouldn't ingest: i.e; fish cleaner, bleach, gasoline, roundup, rat poison, feces... Or if they really do think it is a good idea to drink bleach, maybe we should just let them...
  8. You are wrong on virtually everything you post . However, you are a brother Bills fan... Here's hoping to a good draft and, hopefully, a good season
  9. Probably ESPN. I don't think he will try to move back into the first round; however, I think he might move up in a couple subsequent rounds.
  10. Fortunately for me, I work from home normally, so it isn't much different for me - although, my work has slowed considerably. My wife, on the other hand, was forced to shut down her business almost five weeks ago now. My kids are all grown and leading lives of their own and, thankfully, haven't been terribly affected. My oldest daughter and her husband have their own graphic art design business in Philadelphia and have continued to work from home. My younger daughter and her husband are organic farmers and almost completely self sufficient. My son is an attorney in Houston and has continued working from home. Like I said, I am thankful they are safe and not too adversley affected economically. But I have a number of friends that are in danger of losing their business or in danger of losing their jobs permanently.
  11. That is too long. Seriously. People down here in North Carolina are getting pretty restless. There were protests last week and this week. They would go crazy if we went 2+ months before opening.
  12. Gov Cooper extends restrictions until May 8 There is some indication he may extend until the end of May. I was hoping he would start opening things up by next week. We have 10.5 Million People in the state with less than 7,800 confirmed cases and 275 deaths. The county I live in has 1.1 million people, with 626 confirmed cases and 11 deaths.
  13. The numbers have always been imprecise; however, they could never be questioned. Plenty of posters on this board got crucified for questioning numbers. Now that some numbers are starting to come out that indicate the virus might not be as deadly as thought, and it is demanded we be skeptical...
  14. Love this Quote: “At the end of the day, we have political systems,” said Jonathan Kinloch, chairman of the organization. “We have political parties, and political parties exist for a reason. They do not belong to themselves,” Kinloch said of endorsed candidates and elected officials. “They belong to the members and precinct delegates of the Democratic Party.” "Sieg Heil!"
  15. Somebody needs to reach out and gently break this news to jrober38....
  16. So, the only numbers you question, regarding the virus, are those that might be good news?
  17. Sure feels like it. At least you are aware enough to know you are in the referenced population....
  18. Shhhhh.... It's story time right now at preschool....
  19. I believe his favorite Warren Zevon song is Excitable Boy...
  20. Is there anyone left you haven't accused of being a racist? Don't you think it's time for a new schtick? So passé .....
  21. Please, tell us more from your lofty perch of self-annointed and deluded sense of intellectual and moral superiority...
  22. They are the internet version of cockroaches, scurrying around in the dark and infecting discussions with self-deluded, hypocritical diatribe - only to scatter when you shine the light of truth on them. Unfortunately, intellectually destroying their arguments doesn't kill them off. They just keep coming back because they have developed an immunity to logic, reason, and common sense, as well as the shame and humiliation they should feel at being so wrong, so often...
