You can repost what he wrote, but, maybe you should just re-read what he wrote. He was pretty clear. Not one person on this board has advocated violence against protesters. Neither has Trump. Seriously, do you not have the ability to make a distinction between legitimate protesters and those engaging in criminal behavior?
-
Steps need to be taken to stop it and it it needs to start now.
-
Please just make this clear for everyone: (1) What is Trump's take on this situation that you are referring to? (2) What specific views by posters are "parroting" his take?
-
He was clearly talking about the people who are looting, setting fires, stealing, vandalizing, and assaulting people - you know, criminals. I could be wrong here; however, i don't think it is that big of a stretch to attribute less than honorable motives to criminal behavior....
-
The underlying issues are separate from the criminal behavior. Right now I am watching criminals looting, vandalizing, destroying the possessions of others, and assaulting police and other citizens - across this country. There should be a focus on that criminal behavior right now and it should be stopped. They are criminals taking advantage of the situation.

I sincerely do not say this to be mean; however, most of your posts have this rambling, "stream of consciousness" feel to them that make it hard to distinguish what your actual point is. I gather from this post that your point is we should listen more to each other. I have no problem with that. But, how does that apply to the looting, vandalism, arson, assault, etc. that the poster you were responding to was referencing. Are you saying that the criminal behavior we are witnessing is motivated by anything other than self-interests of one form or another? That, if we all listened to each other more the people engaging in criminal behavior would be different people and not the kind of people taking advantage of this situation?

Black men are being murdered every day in this country. Depending on which year is examined, 91-95% are murdered by other black men. Oh, those pesky facts..
-
I think everyone has tried. There are two posters (they may even be the same person), BillZStime and Warren Zevon, who have absolutely no interest in having any kind of legitimate discussion. They never engage in honest dialogue. They never respond with anything substantive when someone tries to engage with them. They post only to draw visceral responses from people. Neither one is worth the effort.

He can't and he won't. He fills up threads with memes and links to articles you would expect from somebody with a room temperature IQ. Every thread would be better off if he was just ignored

Well, at least she has stopped the shooting deaths of young black men in her city. So, there's that...
-
It is not bad enough how much businesses have suffered from the lockdown. The government has now given tacit approval and free reign for people to loot from and vandalize the ones that are still open. SMFH

You will never get anyone pushing the "systemic racism in law enforcement" narrative to engage in honest dialogue on this topic. Think about what they are saying: it is not just that law enforcement is a racist institution, but, that the racism among law enforcement officers is so pervasive and so bad that, as a group, they literally have no problem taking human lives, condoning it, and/or covering it up - because they hate black people that much. They cannot honestly examine the facts and legitimately hold that belief at the same time.
-
Unfortunately, that isn't true from a national narrative perspective. From that perspective, the only lives that matter are those lost in a manner that can be hijacked for purposes with, shall we say, less than genuine motives.

Well, they are nothing if not consistent in their inconsistencies... -
Honestly, it is difficult to figure out what you are saying. We’ll just leave it at that. Cheers
-
So, your answer is we just assume the motivation was racial, add it to previous deaths of any blacks by white police officers, and arrive at the conclusion there must be some sort of systemic racism issues permeating the law enforcement community?
-
Why? Is he your secretary? Can’t you answer for yourself?
-
But don’t you think that whole “rightly or wrongly” point is important? Or is what somebody feels more important, even if it might be wrong?
-
Don’t you think it is kind of important that you be certain of what something is before you label it and start extrapolating what happened into some broader meaning?
-
Why can’t you simply ask her what her views are without immediately being insulting?
-
Sorry NB, I am not into painting entire groups with the same broad brush stroke. Feel free; however, when you do, just know that you pretty much become the very thing you are railing against.

Or...Maybe.... The police officers in this instance do not represent all law enforcement officers and the blacks participating in the looting, arson, and other criminal behavior do not represent all blacks...
