I don't have any specific solution. I wish I did. I believe, as a society, we have made real progress in systemic biases and prejudices on different levels. It hasn't changed to the degree most of us would like; however, we are changing. In addition, there will always be a small segment of society that just does bad things. It is fairly consistent and doesn't really change.Violent crime will always exist. There is a rate range it fluctuates between, but it is always there. However, we are making progress there as well. WHile it may seem worse to many, the rates of violent violent crime have been at some of their lowest numbers across the board. We just keep trying, I guess...

I believe that already exists under federal civil rights laws. I do not mind federal criminal legislation that is necessary. So, I guess it depends on what specific denial of justice at the local level are we talking about? Or are we talking about legislation specifically designed to circumvent double jeopardy?

76th Anniversary of D-Day Invasion

This is America 2020. They don’t have to say why you are a fascist. They only have to say that you are a fascist. -
I can appreciate your position. However, there are already civil remedies and existing criminal laws that can address much of this. If there is something specific that is not already addressed or needs to be clarified/more specific, then I have no problem. It feels much like other hate crime legislation: Well intentioned; but, it really takes existing laws and recreates them in a way to put motive at the center of the guilt/innocence phase of the prosecution, rather than addressing it as an aggravating factor in sentencing
-
Because symbolic legislation is still legislation and has actual consequences. I am not a fan of enacting legislation, for any reason, symbolic or otherwise, that (1) recreates legislation that already exists as a means of putting motive at the center of the crime, or (2) that is vague or too broad. There are some aspects of this bill I could get behind as I am not sure if specific laws already exist. Much of it is too vague or unnecessary for me.

I ask this as a serious question. What, in this bill, do you think is specifically needed?

Game. Set. Match.

I provided a summary of my career and background as relevant to our discussion. I never asked for your identity. I never asked you to provide any specific identifying information on an internet forum. You can believe what I said or not. That is your right and irrelevant to what I was asking. You made the claim you were out there begging for your life in the context of BLM. You asked me to prove you said that and I did. I simply asked you for the details of any time you have been out there begging for your life with the police. No names, locations, or identifying information. Just the actual details of the incident(s) in terms of what happened. I think that would be relevant to our discussion. Let go of your hatred and hostility for a moment and open up with some honesty.

I think you are emotionally unhinged.
-
I was a law enforcement officer. Now, tell us about those dark, traumatic moments of when you were begging for your life. C'mon, you'll feel better. I promise.
-
I probably should stop before he as an aneurysm and his head explodes...
-
No, you distinctly included yourself in the "we" that are "begging for their lives." I am simply asking you to give us some details. You keep deflecting and misdirecting. Just answer the question.
-
This is why you are a fraud. You tried to pass yourself off as part of the aggrieved we are talking about. simply to try to give more credibility to your insanely hateful rantings. You got called out and , rather than show a little shame and humility, you just became more hostile. Very pathetic Thank you.
-
I bring it up because they were your words and you refuse to answer a simple question. You said you were out there begging for your life with the police. That is a pretty dramatic description and a strong accusation. If it is, in fact true, then it really might give me a better understanding of the basis for your hostility. I already shared. Your turn. I think we would all agree it is a very simple question to answer.
-
Of course black lives matter. Now, let's get back to talking about those times you said you were begging for your life from the police. I am really interested in that. I shared some of my life that I thought was relevant to our discussion and I think you should too. So, what about it, care to share some details from those experiences?
-
I have an idea. Why don't you provide all of us with details about any of the times you have found yourself, as you put it, "begging for your life," with the police? I think it would be helpful for you to start dealing with your trauma by talking about it. It would also help all of us to better understand the depth of your well of anger that is always on display in your posts. You can trust us. We are all here to help you in anyway we can. Just come down off the ledge....
-
Ahhh, that would explain constantly changing identities.
-
Oh, look, you post under one identity and answer yourself under another one. I am not really sure which is more pathetic, (1) trying to pass yourself off as a victim just out there "begging" for your life, or (2) being so desperate for validation of your pseudo-intellectual, hate-filled, rhetoric that you post conversations with yourself to achieve it. I guess I'll go with option (1), that really is reaching pretty low for attention. Option (2) is more comical, albeit in a sad, fragile kind of way.

It certainly doesn’t negate what happened; however, this is exactly why trials are often more complex than people realize
-
I was wondering what your take on this was going to be. Thanks. I can’t say I am surprised. I understand the emotion of so many seeing the video. Tough times right now. I don’t think it is right.
-
Now, now, everything will be ok
-
No, I think you are an idiot whether or not you post; however, it certainly manifests itself in your posts and leaves no doubts
-
Honestly, don’t you ever tire of being an idiot?

Hey, tell us all again how you are "only out here begging for our lives." That sounded so believable when you said it. Life must be tough in the suburbs
