Haha! I'm not far behind you. Not a big basketball fan and don't remember the last game I watched. Actually, I don't even watch sports that much any more. I have been an avid Bills, Sabres, and Yankees fan since I was a kid. I watch them when I can; however, I rarely ever watch any games that don't involve my teams anymore. I have so many better things to do with my time as I get older. So, I am already on the boycott the NBA bandwagon simply because it doesn't interest me.

The only gatherings not discouraged or prohibited are those involving protesters who protest "approved messages." Either public gatherings are a health risk or they are not. Choose one.

The funny thing is, if that would have been a large, angry, conservative mob, with people armed, going through that gate, he would have been cheering residents on to arm themselves. No intellectual consistency.

When a large, angry mob, with some of them armed, breaks through a gate into a private residential community, they pretty much put the matter into the hands of the residents.

He can post about whatever he wants as long as it is done respectfully. As far as his suspension, I saw the thread he started in which he called out Gary/Warren. It was pretty mild in that he was calling out Gary for deleting a thread he had started simply because Gary was pretty much proven wrong. The irony is that, prior to DR's thread, there had been a few threads, including one by Gary, in which posters were called out and accused of some pretty vile things. I was personally called out in the opening post of one for being a racist simply because the poster was aware that I am a retired LE Officer. There were individual posters stating they had contacted the mods about these threads, yet nothing was done. And another irony is that Gary is one of the posters on this forum who rarely engages in substantive discussion. He is a crusader who posts nothing but memes and statements intended only to evoke visceral responses from other posters. I am not a fan of call out threads and DR should not have done it. He was suspended for it. Rules are rules. Just enforce them equally.

Not a fan of personal attacks by anyone. However, I tend to see it occur under two primary situations. The first is when a discussion becomes heated and devolves or when one side has no real interest in substantive discussion. We all are guilty of that on occasion. The second situation is when someone is legitimately challenged about their views, can no longer intellectually defend their views, and turn it personal - usually in the form of accusations of racism, sexism, etc. The second situation is the more troublesome to me.

I do. That is why I didn't get personal the way you do when you can no longer defend your position. Which, is pretty much as soon as you state your postion.

He is willing to engage in debate with any poster who is equally inclined. The posters who are NOT willing to do that, regardless of their positions, are the ones that should be "logging off for a bit"

I am not an NRA kind of guy, but I am a 2A supporter. I just thought his perspective on what happened was a pretty rational take.
