  1. I think his improvement is due less to the issue of fans (or no fans) and more to the hard work he has put in, more experience in the system (for Josh and his teammates), additional talent (Diggs), and more trust in those around him. He's a smart kid with a strong work ethic and an incredible desire to be better.
  2. Not disagreeing with you on that point. They created their own problem. The point still stands. Watson should have no part in hiring a GM.
  3. I was a fan of the hire at the time, and even moreso after they brought Beane on board. We are fortunate.
  4. Hey transplantbillsfan, thank you for the kind words. I joined TBD many years ago; however, I never posted in PPP until Covid shut down my business. I had some time on my hands that I didn't normally have, wandered into PPP, and enjoyed the interaction with a number of posters on both sides of the political aisle. I enjoy debates with people who are intellectually honest and consistent, tried to post primarily with those types of posters, and I enjoyed my time here for awhile. Then it just felt like the forum was taken over by posters, from both sides, who were interested in nothing more than flooding every thread with vitriolic posts. People are passionate about politics and we are all guilty of stepping over the line on occasion in the heat of the moment. However, that is different from the angry, hateful, toxic environment that was flourishing here. So I stopped posting. Around the same time I stopped posting, my work started to pick up as well, so I had less time for this. When I learned about the other site, I joined that as well; however, I haven't posted in the political forum on that site either. As a matter of fact, I believe this is the first time I have posted on any political forum in maybe 5 months or so. Thanks for the shout out, my friend. I always enjoyed our interactions. Congrats to you and your side of the aisle on the election results. Personally, I couldn't, in good conscience, vote for either candidate - for the second straight presidential election. There are some really good posters here and, now, on the other site. Maybe I will begin engaging in political discussions again at some point. Until then, I will see you on the football side! Cheers, my friend
  5. I'd say Allen has absolutely been in the same class as Rogers and Mahomes this year. I don't need playoff wins to know right now that Allen is a special talent. They will come, but it doesn't diminish the level he has played at, or my belief that he is going to be one of the top QBs in the NFL for quite awhile.
  6. Even more amazing since he was blitzed more than any other QB this year - 244 times (44% of his attempts). The next closest was Russell Wilson at 205 blitzes. As a side note, Aaron Rogers was blitzed 168 times (32% of his attempts) and Patrick Mahomes was blitzed 140 times (24% of his attempts).
  7. Would rather be the #1 seed; however, it is never a bad time to be the #2 seed.
  8. Right. I don't get too worked up over criticisms of Allen. People are entitled to their opinions. However, this mantra that "nobody saw this coming" does annoy me and feels like it is nothing more than a means for people to recognize how good Allen is while while still legitimizing their lazy analyses of his play.
  9. For me it was his third game at Minnesota. He showed (1) he could be accurate with the ball, (2) what he was capable of athletically, and (3) the competitive desire he possesses. I have been a big fan since the beginning. He is exactly the kind of QB I have wanted for this team since Kelly. He is Buffalo.
  10. Good enough for 41st all time and Allen is still a few months shy of 25. Just getting started...
  11. This forum has become his couch in the therapist's office....
  12. I believe Flores is a good coach. I think he completely mishandled the QB situation; however, the same could be said of McDermott early in the 2018 season. Other than that, he did a really good job with that team this year.
  13. It's the playoffs and it is a pretty strong field in the AFC from top to bottom. I don't think there are any "easy wins." I believe they will be prepared, and if they play at the level they have been playing over the last five weeks or so, then they are capable of beating any team they face. But I expect the games to be tough, starting with Indy.
  14. I remember having a number of debates with you about Allen. Your takes were worse than Nick Wright's...
  15. Yep, our team is growing up so fast. Why it seems like just yesterday that I was wading through the "Fire McBeane" threads...
  16. I haven't read anything where it was determined any of the latest players/coaches contracted the virus due to breaking protocols.
  17. Personally, I hate to see any team have their playoff game affected by this.
  18. Agree on all counts. IMO, he should have let Tua sit this year. However, once he made the decision to go with a young QB then he should have been committed to him and the decision he made.
  19. The AFC playoffs have teams, from top to bottom, that are capable of winning any game they play. The Colts are a good team. I think the Bills are a better overall team; however, they are going to have to continue to play at the level they have been playing.
  20. And I get your point. Everyone does. You can separate context from results; however, I have no idea why you would want to in any kind of legitimate analysis. When you factor in all of the variables, yes, Allen had some poor throws that first year that, in context, were simply because they were poor throws. However, IMO, Allen came in with this narrative that he was innacurate and every throw the kid made was dissected through that lens. Taking everything into consideration, I do not believe that he was a terrible QB in 2018. There are plenty of people who feel the same way so, no, not everyone is saying he was a terrible QB. Intelligent people can disagree. You might be right, I might be right, or the truth may lie somewhere between. This is just my opinion based on my evaluation of everything I could think of to look at, and I made the same argument back then as I do now. Cheers
  21. Circumstances such as what happened to that 1999 team play a role in how I will feel about this season once it is over. I think this team should be playing in the conference championship game this year. As long as they show up prepared to play and play to the level of which they are capable, I believe they will get that far. However, a team can play good football and even deserve to win the game, only to lose it on one or two "fluke" plays, bad calls, etc. If they were to lose before the Championship game in such a manner, I would still consider this season a success. The only way I feel that the year wasn't a success is if they do not show up prepared to play.
