  1. I don't support anyone who encourages, condones, or doesn't stand up against senseless violence or lawlessness. Political affiliation is irrelevant to me. I try to be intellectually consistent in my views.
  2. Yeah, the most high profile, and the overwhelming majority of, Democrats in this country almost stampeded each other in their zeal to race to a microphone to condemn the violence that was going on across the nation........ You should probably open yourself up to the fact a few isolated soundbites (one of which is one sentence of a written statement by Joe Biden, who couldn't even stand up in public and actually say it) do not deter from the fact that the Democratic party as a whole was remarkably silent when it came to the violence.
  3. To me, the still image does not show his foot off the ground and he does not lose possession of the ball from that point forward. Like I said, IMO, it is a catch and, at worst, there is insufficient evidence to overturn the call on the field - which still makes it a catch.
  4. It is just one example of many regarding the lack of intellectual consistency and honesty of the left...
  5. Stop being an ass. I am not an anti-vaxxer and it wasn't an argument at all. It was a legitimate question to which I didn't know the answer. So, I asked. And now I know that you don't know the answer either. Maybe you should town down your arrogance and know a little bit more about the topic on which you choose to go on a crusade.
  6. And how long does the booster last?
  7. We won't hold it against you...
  8. You seem to have a preoccupation with racism in this thread. Are you saying that Julius Jones was charged, convicted, and sentenced to death because the investigators, prosecutors, jurors, and judge were racist? Or that racism is at the heart of his case? Or that the Governor was racist for commuting the sentence? Whatever it is, just state it and offer your reasons for believing so, you know, like a real discussion, rather than going off on silly tangents...
  9. I should have more clear. No, I wasn't putting that on you. That was in reference to the charges brought by the prosecution.
  10. I am all about personal responsibility. He put himself in a situation in which things could potentially go very bad, and they did. He certainly has some culpability in what transpired. However, It is a quantum leap from that to first-degree murder.
  11. Calling states "racist" simply because the death penalty is legal = silly
  12. I just saw that. 12th hour reprieve. I wonder what his justification was. I have no problem as it was commuted to life without the possibility of parole. Silly
  13. Actually, the progressive wing of your party is a greater attack on our democracy than a riot. Also, I love how assults, murders, looting, and the wholesale destruction of businesses is nothing more than "some street protest that got out of hand."
  14. Just for the record, I didn't support what happened at the Capitol. As to the attempt to murder politicians? A bit of an over reach there. However, I don't recall you, or the Democratic party, complaining at all about murders of innocent people during riots in the street last year. Or is it just a matter of "who" is murdered to you?
  15. No, you can't. But you also can't give people back their lives spent in prison over a wrongful conviction. I will also add that, with the inclusion of life without parole in death penalty cases, it is almost impossible to get the death penalty, even moreso without overwhelming evidence. It wouldn't bother me if they did away with the death penalty altogether. However, in those jursidictions in which it is still a legal, viable option, it should be considered as an appropriate form of punishment.
  16. I never saw the Democratic party condemn a single riot in the streets last year. Hell, they wouldn't even acknowledge violence in those riots in spite of the open looting, arson, assault, etc.... But they came unglued over the riot at the US Capitol...
  17. I'm not sure that life in prison on a wrongful conviction would be any better - except maybe not as permanent. I wouldn't say I am an opponent or a proponent of the death penalty. However, I do believe it is an appropriate form of punishment in certain cases.
  18. Julius Jones was convicted of murdering Paul Howell during a carjacking in 1999, was sentenced to death, and has been on death row since 2002. He is scheduled to be executed today at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. There is a clemency petition signed by 6.5 million people, including celebrities such as Baker Mayfield and Kim Kardashian, both of whom have gone on record stating they believe Jones was wrongly convicted. Here is what the Innocence Project has to say: https://innocenceproject.org/julius-jones-death-row-oklahoma-what-to-know/ Here is what the Attorney General of Oklahoma has to say: https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/OKAG/2020/07/06/file_attachments/1489505/Julius Jones Document July 2020.pdf Thoughts?
  19. Here is every video I could find (slowed down). Initially, I didn't think it was a catch. However, I do believe he had possession while his right foot was still down. Here are two angles at the moment I thought he clearly had possession and it sure looks like his right foot is still on the ground. I didn't see the ball really move after this point: I believe it is a catch. At worst, I really do not think there would have been enough evidence to overturn the call on the field.
  20. He has the 3rd highest catch % in the league, singlehandedly kept the offense going in the second half of the Miami game, and has made clutch catches all year. Yeah, he dropped a sure catch in the Jax game that would have kept a drive alive and put them in Jax territory - but those plays have been rare for Beasley.
  21. Allen has been better under center this year than he was last year and the year before. He is also much more comfortable in this offense and with the game overall. He is a smart kid and very natural in his ball handling skills in play action. The game is always about adjustments, within game and week to week. It is not like he is bad out of the shotgun...
  22. They are 17th in YPP out of the shotgun and 2nd in YPP under center. Sunday, Allen had the highest number of yards on play action throws in the NFL over the last two years. He should be under center a lot.
  23. Absolutely right. They are right behind the Bills, defensively, particularly against the pass. They are a little more vulnerable against the run than the pass, but still very good. They are one of the better offenses in the league on 1st down and short down and distance situations. Where they struggle on offense is 2nd /3rd and long (+7 yds). They are fundamentally sound on both sides of the ball. They will be a very tough 2 (maybe 3) games.
  24. While my thoughts are on the Colts this weekend, the Patriots actually have a good team. IMO, for what it is worth, Football Outsiders does a pretty good job of breaking teams and players down according to DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average). The following is their Top 5 in overall team efficiency and SB odds:
