  1. Because that wouldn't confirm an intransigent belief that EJ sucks and is the primary reason for any and all red zone problems the Bills may experience...
  2. I like to be accurate in what I say, so, I went back to the thread and this is your exact quote: "It wasn't a perfect pass. It was a decent pass that is expected from an average NFL QB, where he needs the help of his WR to be complete." I stand by what I said.
  3. There was a 45+ yard throw from EJ to Watkins at the goal line, which was incomplete only because of an incredible play by the DB. The consensus on this board was that it was a top, NFL caliber throw and could not have been thrown much better, if at all. After you "examined" that play you referred to it as a throw you would "expect" from any "average" QB. Forgive me if I am a little skeptical about your "examinations" and "observations" regarding EJ. As for whether or not EJ should still be called a rookie, I never entered into that debate in any of my posts. If you want to know what my view is on EJ, it is this: He is a young QB, with still limited experience. He has started and completed 11 games so far in his career. In those 11 games, he is 6-5 as a starter, completing 60% of his passes, with 13 TDs and 10 Ints, and a passer rating of 80. IMO, He is much better than he was last year and is improving with each game. He will make some bad decisions and bad throws; however, no more than virtually any other QB in the league - and certainly no more than any QB with his level of experience. He has also made a big play on almost every scoring drive the bills have had this year. He has all the tools to be a great QB. It is way too early to tell whether he will be or not. He deserves a chance to grow and not to be held at higher standard than any other QB, particularly any other QB with his level of experience.
  4. Awesome video. Just a genuinely nice kid.
  5. This. IMO, there are some on this board that believe EJ should be held to some ridiculous accuracy standard that few, if any, QBs achieve.
  6. Right. Because it would be absolutely inconceivable that a rookie wide receiver could make a mistake. IMO, based on your posts in reference to EJ, I think it is easier for you to believe it was EJ's fault because it supports your views of him.
  7. Just a guess here; however, I think Richardson will be in the starting lineup by mid-season.
  8. Thank you NoSaint, that was my point exactly. If he was regularly shutting down elite receivers instead of the Jarrett Boykins of the NFL - without all that other talent around him, then it would be easier to guage. As it is, I don't know if he is elite, or just very good on an elite team.
  9. I think he is a very good DB. I just am not sure he is an elite, shut down corner. The stat you cited would be more significant to me if (1) he did it covering the entire field one on one with the best receiver from the other team, (2) he didn't have pro bowl caliber DBs around him, and (3) he didn't play on the best overall defense in the NFL (with a ferocious pass rush) that held opposing QBs to a collective rating of 64....
  10. Sleep with the wife of your star player one time and you are labeled for life...
  11. He certainly seems to spend a lot of time telling anyone who will listen that he is the best...so, it appears he has some kind of need to convince others (or himself?) that he is the best... I have no idea how really good he is. It would be interesting to see him play the entire field, covering the best receiver on the other team every game - without two of the best safeties in the NFL playing underneath and over top of him, and without that pass rush....
  12. Here is another article http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/9/18/6216901/bills-undefeated-2014-nfl-season
  13. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/9/18/6216901/bills-undefeated-2014-nfl-season
  14. This is the meat of the article. A couple other things: Schatz (the author) also says 1) The Bills defense has been average so far this season? 2) Their special teams have been the best in the league over the first two games, and 3) Their playoff odds after two weeks is at 66.2 percent (up from 30.6 percent)
  15. IMO, the issue about EJ's accuracy has been completely blown out of proportion...to the point of almost being ridiculous. Breakdown the game tape of just about any QB in the league and you will find similar plays. As an aside, regarding the missed pass to a wide open Watkins: How in the world can you be so certain that Watkins wasn't supposed to take that route more to the inside?
  16. I also believe he has a higher percentage of 20+ yard completions per total pass attempts than all of them...FWIW
  17. I think there are about 5 very real possibilities.... Still, it is interesting. Only Ryan (3 more), Foles (2 more), and Stafford (1 more) have more 20+ yard completions than EJ. Two points: 1) I'm sure they have some that are a product of YAC as well and (2) all three have at least 32 more attempts than EJ. Just interesting
  18. Actually, you usually do not even have to look at the article to know Sullivan wrote it. You can typically pick it out from the negative feel of the title alone. Try it sometime, it is kind of amusing. I bet you will be able to pick out his articles, from the title alone, 85-90% of the time. Although, I will admit that he fooled me on this one...but it doesn't happen often
  19. San Diego is a very good team and they pretty much dominated Seattle at home last week. However, they also were out gained 403-290 on the road at Arizona and held to 17 points. I think it will be closer to their performance in Arizona than at home against Seattle. Buffalo's defense will will give up some yardage to Rivers, as they did to Cutler; however, they will limit the big plays and scores. Buffalo's offense will be able to move the ball. If they can win the turnover battle and score TDs in at least two red zone opportunities, then they win. Bills 23-17
  20. Nope. The past is the past and has no relevance to this team. I believe they have playoff caliber talent on this team and my expectations are that they will win more than they lose and could very well be fighting for the division title or a wild card. I set my expectations according to what I see with the current team - not according to what has happened in the past.
  21. What you "apologized for is taking a "pejorative shot at all those EJ fanatics who have blinders on, and who are running high on emotion aftre 2 wins." What you actually said in your initial post was "Anyone who disagrees with the above either has no football knowledge at all, or is just a blind homer." Those are two different things. One is a shot at EJ fanatics and the other is a blanket dismissal of credibility of anyone who disagrees with you. The latter sentiment is what I was commenting on. I was merely pointing out that opinions can be given without making it personal. Speaking of which, my reading comprehension is just fine thank you.
  22. Both of these are very reasonable well thought out posts.
  23. IMO, that pass could not have been thrown much better, if at all. I do not think you would "expect" that throw from any "average" QB.
