  1. Tampa has to be taking Winston or Mariotta in the draft and they already have McCown. Glennon is still under contract; however, he grades out much higher than any other QB that we could "reasonably" acquire through trade or free agency. If there is a way to do it, I think he would be a terrific acquisition.
  2. Agreed. He actually has a very impressive resume of working in different offensive systems and with different offensive personnel over the years. I also think that there would be a good chance that Whaley could make a deal for Mike Glennon. Jackson worked with Flacco his first couple of years in the NFL and I think Glennon has similar qualities.
  3. If Marrone is right in the middle of the bell curve...I believe you are correct 😄
  4. You begin this response by calling people douchebags, and you follow that up in your second sentence by saying you are not the one demanding people should conform to your way of thinking or you will call them names. Interesting....
  5. Let's accept, for the sake of argument, the OP's point that the media drove Marrone out of town. What does that say about Marrone? What Marrone endured from the media and the fans of this city paled in comparison to what Ej Manuel has endured from the media and fans. One quits on his players, coaches, and fans...while the other accepts it all with professionalism, supports the other players, and works hard every day to try to improve. Which one of those was the tough, 50 year old, ex-NFL lineman....and which one was the 24 year old kid? BTW, I don't believe the media drove him out; however, I don't care why he left. Any reason you give doesn't make him look any better....
  6. This idea that the media forced him out is ridiculous. Doug Marrone is responsible for his own actions. He made his choices. End of story. The Bills are now in search of a new head coach and I hope they get it right; however, there are no guarantees in life. The next head coach may be everything we have been looking for in a HC for what seems to be an eternity now, he may be awful, or he may be somewhere in between. I hope for the best. I certainly am not going to spend my time worrying...
  7. I was arresting a bank robber and searching his home. With the proceeds from one of the bank robberies, he purchased a large screen TV and home theater system. After the arrest, I gave myself the responsibility of logging in evidence found during the search while the game was playing on the large screen TV. At the end of the game I was so pissed, I wanted to charge the guy with an additional crime for facilitating a means for me to watch that nightmare... But that would have been wrong...
  8. Actually, Chan Gaily seemed to do just fine with the offensive line... with Urbik and Pears...and Wood graded out better....and without Glenn... Less talent...better results Is that still a lot of sophistry?
  9. A very reasonable, well thought out post...clearly a homer
  10. Right, Whaley appears to have all the acumen in the world for acquiring defensive talent; however, none for acquiring offensive talent? Sorry, but it takes both parts of the equation to produce successful results: Finding talent and coaching it. And don't tell me about what coaching means - just look at the defensive players who regressed, failed to develop, or failed to live up to their potential under Wannstedt and see how they did under Pettine and Schwartz... Or maybe you can talk to Indy about what a bust Hughes was...
  11. That Whaley is astute, perceptive, intuitive, observant...?
  12. I am not ready to call either one of these two "busts" at this point. Does the fact that, under Marrone's leadership, virtually every single offensive player on the Bills either (1) regressed, (2) failed to develop in any significant way, or (3) fell far short of his respective potential cause you to consider, in any way, that the problem might not be the players? Does the fact that under Marrone, whose specialty was offensive line, (1) Pears, who actually previously graded out as serviceable at RT, was played at RG where he graded out far worse - (2) that Urbick, who had previously graded out at RG better than any other guard on the roster, couldn't even see playing time for half the year; and when he does, it is at LG where he grades out far worse than at RG - (3) that Glenn and Wood both regressed considerably at their respective positions - (4) that two highly thought of rookie linemen could make no progress at all - make you pause at all to think that maybe the problem might have been Marrone? I think I will wait until I see what a competent offensive coaching staff can do with these players before I consider them "busts."
  13. The ultimate irony: Tim Graham talking about anyone else in terms of thin skin and nasty responses to narcissistic injuries...
  14. Bradford is a huge injury concern; Sanchez is a turnover machine; Hoyer is incredibly inconsistent; and Cutler, while actually having top 10 QB ability, is a head case. None of them are sure bets.
  15. Why don't you just answer the question several posters have asked you: Who would you trade for or who would you draft that will be the most viable option?
  16. True. Can't imagine anything motivating a player more than the threat of being shot or sent to the Gulag....
  17. I agree that EJ's potential is greater than Foles. I don't know if I would be as optimistic as you in regard to how good EJ could be; however, I do agree that he would be far better under an offensive coaching staff that knew what they were doing. I have said it in other threads and I will say it again: I will hold off passing any judgement regarding the offensive talent on this team until I see what they do under a competent offensive coaching staff - which, I hope is assembled this off season. I remember when many fans were labeling some current defensive players as busts or not living up to their potential (i.e.; Aaron Williams, Marcel Dareus, Mario Williams) under Wannstedt...
  18. Welcome aboard! I would imagine it is like any large family: Many different personalities and opinions; the conversations run the spectrum from funny to serious, congenial to heated, idiotic to insightful; and there are always those one or two members that the rest of the family wants to disown... But, in the end, we are still a family with an unbreakable common bond... Go Bills!
  19. I think Atlanta will be first. If they hire Rex Ryan and leave the offensive coaching staff in place...then they will be back in the playoffs next year.
  20. IMHO, had Buffalo drafted Beckham instead of Watkins, Beckham's numbers would have been, at best, no better than what Watkins produced in this offense...and, I still believe Watkins' long term potential (in a decent offense) is far greater than Beckham's...
  21. I like Whaley and what he has done. I do find it interesting that that most of the players Whaley has had a hand in acquiring on the defensive side of the ball have done well, while most of the players he has had a hand in acquiring on the offensive side of the ball have not developed, regressed, or simply not done as well as expected. Is there really that much disparity in his abilities to evaluate talent on the defensive side as opposed to the offensive side? Is it a matter of coaching? Is it a combination of the two or something completely different? IMHO, I think it is more about coaching. As an example, many of the defensive players that did not develop, regressed, or didn't play as well as expected under Wannstedt, seemed to flourish under Pettine and Schwartz...
