  1. Seriously? Are we watching the same video? Brandon Moore didn't get "thrown" anywhere. He literally was stood up in place and, maybe, took 1/2 of a step back. That was on Sanchez...
  2. I am sure Indy thought Hughes was a bust when they traded him to Buffalo... I'll wait a little longer to see
  3. They are not the same; however, It doesn't mean they are mutually exclusive either. Nobody on this board has any idea what Roman, Lee, and Palmer think of Manuel at this point. They may or may not have confidence in him. Either way, bringing in competition is always a good thing.
  4. Top ten in both fumbles and interceptions in every full season he has played... No thanks
  5. I have some hope when I look at what Roman did with Alex Smith, who, IMO, is the kind of QB that fits a team with a strong defense and strong running game: 2009 (Before Roman) 11 games, completed 60 % of his passes, with 18 TDs, 12 INTs, and 81.5 Rating 2010 (Before Roman) 11 games, completed 59 % of his passes, with 14 TDs, 10 INTs, and 82.1 Rating 2011 (With Roman) 18 games, completed 61% of his passes, with 22 TDs, 5 INTs, and 92.1 Rating 2012 (With Roman) 9 games, completed 70% of his passes, with 13 TDs, 5 INTs, and 100.4 Rating
  6. I would not say that Woods was better this year than he was last year, or that Watkins achieved anywhere near his potential. Hogan didn't previously play so I have no idea. Those guys aside, you can look at the grades on every offensive player on the Bills that played last year, and virtually every single one regressed. As far as I am concerned, that is coaching. Also, while I do not have any inside info, and going solely off from what I observed, I do not have much doubt in my mind that many of Manuel's issues, including the choices to "check down" rather than go down field with the ball were, at the very least, influenced by a coach, whose conservative tendencies included things like choosing to punt from the opponent's 35-40 yard line, late in a critical game, rather than try for the first down....
  7. I don't need any inside info to know that virtually every offensive player either (1) regressed, (2) failed to progress further, or (3) failed to develop to anywhere near their potential (in the case of rookies) under Marrone. I think, at this point, I'm willing to give Manuel the benefit of doubt as to the effect on his play of inept coaching...
  8. According to PFF, Orton's negative plays outweighed his positive plays in 8 out of 12 games....
  9. Ralph Wilson brought an NFL team to the city of Buffalo and the people of Western New York, and kept it here for over fifty years. He was a generous man and did so much for so many people over the years. I am not going to debate the issue of whether or not he was frugal with money he spent on the team - other than to say, IMHO, this whole concept of "Ralph was cheap" when it came to the team is a pretty simplistic view and not entirely accurate. I want to keep within the theme of this thread, So, I just want to comment on what Ralph Wilson, through his ownership of the Bills, gave to me personally: Memories - of the first game I ever attended with my father in 1968, of the defeat of Miami in 1980 and the goal posts coming down, of the Super Bowl years, of the first game I ever took my children to in 1995, of the telephone conversations with my son after every Bills game since he moved away in 2008, and too many memories in between to list here... And those memories, as they say, are priceless. Thank you Ralph and rest in peace...
  10. In other news...boy trapped in refrigerator eats own foot...
  11. IMO, that interception was far less lucky than the bounce of the deflected ball on the 47 yard pass to Kearse that put Seattle in position to go for the go ahead touchdown...and far less lucky than the two point conversion Wilson heaved up against Green Bay...or the bungled onside kick by the Packers... I'd say Seattle had its fair share of luck in the playoffs...
  12. Very good post and I agree 100%. Getting a little tired of posters' allegiances to the Bills being questioned on this site because of an opinion or who they might want to win in any particular game outside of a Bills game.
  13. Agree 100%...and a QBR of 5 in the fourth quarter: 3 of 8 for 75 yards and an interception. and 47 of those yards came on one of the most fortunate bounces I have seen, without which, they wouldn't even have been in position for a go ahead touchdown...
  14. You are not reading things wrong. It has been non stop criticism about calling a passing play (any passing play) rather than a run. While I tend to believe their strength is running the ball, I don't have a problem calling a pass play. Like you, that particular play might not have been my first choice; however, it wasn't exactly well executed either. I do find the reaction to that play somewhat interesting. IMO, had it been a completed pass for a touchdown, this board would have been filled with posts about Wilson and the execution of the play with little to no mention of the OC. Instead, the play doesn't work and it is all about the OC and little to no mention of the execution.
  15. As much as I despise the Patriots, they were and are the better team. I didn't think Seattle was even the best team in the NFC. They were, to put it mildly, very fortunate to get past the Packers...and it took a ridiculous bounce in their favor last night to even have a shot at winning the game at the end.
  16. Really? Then I must have missed the part where somebody other than Wilson threw the interception...because it sure looked to me like he was the one that threw it
  17. Please. Russell Wilson is an NFL QB. He threw that interception, it is on him.
  18. Stupid call as their strength is their running game. However, very few people seem to want to put any blame on Wilson for the throw. Plenty of blame to go around on that play
  19. Guess the Seahawks forgot what got them to the Superbowl: Their running game not Russell Wilson's arm.
  20. A fan of the athlete...not a fan of the man
  21. Believe it or not, Urbik graded out as one of the better right guards in the NFL from 2011-2013. Last year, Marrone refused to play him for half of the year. When he finally did play him, it was at left guard, where he graded out far worse than he ever did at right guard. He can also play center. We need good guards and good depth. Urbick's play wasn't the problem last year, Marrone was.
  22. Sorry, but that pass should have never been a completion. Wilson did a great job evading the rush, looking for receivers, and throwing the ball to a spot his receiver might have a chance to catch it. I give him all the credit in the world for those things. However, there is nothing Wilson did that caused the defensive back to misplay that pass as bad as he did. And Wilson would not have even had the opportunity to throw that pass had it not been for Marshawn Lynch, their defense, and incredibly conservative play calling on the part of the Packers. And even with all of that, they still wouldn't have been in a position to win the game without a completely botched catch on an onside kick. Wilson is a great athlete and a good QB. However, he has had the good fortune to play on a team with the best defense (by far) in the NFL, perhaps the best power rushing game in the NFL, having played with a fourth quarter lead more than any other QB, and been asked to complete an average of only 16 passes a game. He is the perfect QB for the team he is on: He doesn't make many mistakes, he makes a lot plays with his feet, and the occasional good/great play with his arm. He may become an elite QB, but, at this point in time, any comparisons to guys like Brady, Manning, Rogers, etc., is ridiculous. I think there are a number of posters on this board who want to place Wilson in the "elite" status because the Bills "could have drafted him..."
