  1. Military for 8 years, law enforcement officer for 25 years, and my wife is quite happy with my testosterone level. My views on this topic come from investigating, analyzing, and teaching for the last 35 years in regard to homicide, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault.
  2. Then you are simply ignorant of reality, rationalizing your own sexually aggressive views, or both...
  3. No, this is about the pendulum swinging to the extreme - as it usually does - when we ignore real problems. "Normal male sexuality" does not include predatory behavior, and women in this country have long been the object of that behavior at many different levels.
  4. I'm not fighting anyone's battles. I was merely pointing out that you do not need to be condescending and aggressive with people simply because they don't share your opinion. Carry on.
  5. He already did explain. If you want to advocate that someone should have intentionally injured Gronk after the play for retaliation, or that someone should also intentionally injure Brady (although I am not sure what he had to do with the Gronk incident), feel free. No need to be condescending because someone disagrees.
  6. Or the Panthers... Or the Jets (2nd game)... Or the Saints.... Or New England...
  7. For me, this year is turning out pretty much how I thought it would, given the turn over in the front office, the coaching staff, and players. I am not going to use 12 games as my basis for determining the quality of the front office or coaching staff - particularly given the talent that has been traded away (most of which I agree with even though it almost certainly hurt the team's chances at being more successful this year) and the severe limitations at the QB position. I have been an avid fan for almost 50 years and truly would love to see a fundamentally sound team that believes in itself and consistently challenges for the division title and a playoff spot. That doesn't happen overnight - and it certainly doesn't begin by intentionally losing. Tanking is a ridiculous notion. This regime was always going to succeed or fail beginning with trying to establish the foundations of a culture this year and then build on that with what they do next year in Free Agency and the draft. They need an upgrade in talent in a number of areas, beginning at QB. Taylor is not the answer, nor, do I believe, is Peterman. However, I would like to see what Peterman can do for the remainder of the season to see if he could at least be a reliable back up. I want to see the team continue to play hard, win or lose, for the remainder of this year, see how they do at finding the right talent in free agency and the draft (beginning at QB), and what direction the team takes next year. Talk of tanking and/or getting rid of the GM and coach (all of which I have seen in numerous posts) after 12 games are, IMHO, not only non-productive solutions to ending 18 years of futility - but, again IMHO, almost guaranteeing a continuation of the very thing we are hoping to end.
  8. When I look back at Super Bowl 25, wide right does stand out. However, I remember, just as vividly, a play in the 2nd quarter. The Bills had just gone up 12-3 on a safety. On the first play of their next possession after the free kick, Kelly threw a perfect pass to Reed, which he dropped. Had he held onto that ball, it would have been a big play 32 yard completion and a 1st and 10 at the Giant's 38 yard line. Kelly followed up on the next play by missing a wide open McKeller, which would have been a 10 yard completion and 1st down. The Bills go 3 and out and the Giants score on their next possession to make it 12-10 at the half. I have always felt that the Bill's had all the momentum after the safety and, had Reed held onto that catch, might have scored again to go up 19-3 - taking the Giants out of their running game. It is just a feeling and, in reality, it might have made no difference at all - but that play has stayed with me every bit as much as the missed field goal.
  9. Go back and watch the All 22 on Taylor and what you will find is a QB who consistently refuses to throw the ball into windows that a starting NFL QB should be able to throw into: particularly to receivers breaking toward the middle of the field at 12 -15 yards. Even on a 3rd down, when he needs ten yards, Taylor will almost always throw the ball underneath for a 5-7 yard gain rather than make that throw. I have seen him leave too many "potential" big plays on the field and walk off the field after too many "3 and outs" because of his refusal to make those throws. Not a fan of Dennison; however, Taylor has his share of culpability in the inconsistent and often times anemic offense we have seen...
  10. After spending the last 2-1/2 years praying for a fifth round pick...
  11. So we could have more of this? (and these are just 3 instances out of about 7 where he refused to take a shot)
  12. Admitting it is the first step to recovery...
  13. This might be the most drama filled season in terms of posts on this forum
  14. Thank you, Josh, for taking your time to post here, and for what you are doing at the Buffalo News.
  15. Well, obviously, there are no other variables that could possibly go into how he designs his plays within the system, other than he doesn't think much of Taylor as a passer... Obviously....
  16. Actually, I believe the officers in each case you cited were held accountable in the way of grand jury investigations and/or trials.
  17. Says the guy arguing with people he will never meet on a message board... Interesting...
  18. Over the last two weeks Watson went 47/67 (70%) for 584 yards, 6 TDs, and 3 INTs against the 32nd and 29th ranked pass defenses (DVOA). He also went 27/47 (57%) for 227 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT the first two weeks against the 1st and 8th ranked pass defenses (DVOA) - with a 12/23 (52%) for 102 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT against the number one pass defense. I like Watson and think he is going to be a good NFL QB. However, I am not ready to annoint him the "Michael Jordan" of the NFL after four games - particularly when the last two have been against really bad pass defenses.
  19. Under the law, he was acquitted of murder and convicted of armed robbery, so, he has served his time for that conviction. Yet, he still committed two murders for which he did no time. I can accept the legal distinctions; however, in terms of what is just - no, he hasn't served his time.
  20. No...he didn't
  21. You do know that what we (the collective "we" as fans) feel, believe, etc, doesn't really have any influence over whether or not the team is successful, right? Even if your condescending assertion that most fans here are completely satisfied with mediocrity was true - it really wouldn't actually "hold the team back." Speaking of delusional...
  22. Nobody said anything about moral equivalency. It is called freedom of speech - Even if you find it morally reprehensible. By the way, neither side is void of questionably moral expressions.
  23. Conversely, why would someone, not standing for a song, get upset over someone else expressing their displeasure at the gesture - how does that adversely affect them. People are free to express their views - whether others agree with them or not. Such a lack of tolerance all the way around....
