    Good interview. I have said all along that I would not be unhappy with Allen, even though he was not my first choice. I believe he has the potential to be a franchise QB and I wish him all the best. I hope he succeeds, as much for him as for our team.

    Actually, go back and read my posts. I said it was a NON-ISSUE. Every report I heard said not one GM considered it to be anything that would affect his draft status. He was drafted 7th overall and is now the QB of your team. So, pretty much a non-issue.

    A for Allen A+ for Edmunds That is my assessment based on the potential I see. While Allen wasn't my first choice either, I am not unhappy - and, IMHO, he still was a legitimate first round talent in this draft class.

    Agreed. Any endeavor to predict anything in the way of human behavior is an inexact science. However, I will put my faith in staffs that literally spend hundreds upon hundreds of hours vetting draft picks over any garden variety poster on a fan website.

    I am not aware of any research studies showing posters on NFL team websites being as successful as team scouting staffs and front offices in recognizing NFL talent. Perhaps you could provide some links?

    The truth is, IMHO, this draft class is fairly mediocre and there are only about 15 or so true 1st round caliber guys - and Beane managed to draft two of them.

    No, he is on a short leash with a very small segment of the fan base who think they know more than people who do this for a living. Beane may not be smarter than everyone else; however I'm pretty sure he is smarter, in these matters, than that very small segment

    This was a great pick. I think Beane has done a great job so far. I know there are a number of posters who did not like the Allen selection. However, I trust they did their homework and I am fully supportive of the pick. Time will tell and I am more than willing to wait and see.

    Aren't you one of the guys willing to trade anything the Giants would have asked for to move up to #2 to draft a guy who ultimately didn't get drafted till # 10? I think I'll trust Beane....

    But still an opinion that is as valid as any opinion anyone else may have! Allen is not my first choice; however, If he is who we end up with - then I will be happy as well! Let's hope whoever they pick, he turns out to be the right one, my friend!

    I feel good about this FO and I haven't been able to say that for a very long time. I will trust and support them until they show I should do otherwise. A big night for them and I wish them well. Success for them will be a good thing for us all. Good luck!!

    He may have; however, Richardson signed the NDSs, not McNair. If Richardson violated those NDAs in his conversations with McNair, then that is on him. Accountability stops with him.

    Not a fan of McNair; however, I didn't read anything he said that would appear to definitively say Richardson violated any NDAs in their conversations. However, if they dig deeper and find evidence any NDA violations did occur, then that is on Richardson, not McNair.
