  1. Maybe look at one of the lower tier FA WR as well, like Markus Wheaton? 4.4 speed coming out of college and a couple of pretty productive years with the Steelers.
  2. I do not ever read draft grades and I don't understand why anyone would. Why would fans look for some sort of validation for their team's selections from people who, last I checked, had no sort of unique ability to see into the future? Now, maybe if the oracles of Delphi were still around, or even Nostradamus - but, Mel Kiper?
  3. Thanks for the link. Good read and I am really rooting for the kid. I'm with you, I really like this draft - and I feel better about the direction of this franchise than I have in many years.
  4. If you listened to Beane in his pressers yesterday and the day before, they will be filling more holes after the draft. There are FAs still out there which are as good as anything you will find in the 5-7 rounds.
  5. I don't believe it is really about differing opinions (on either side) as much as it is about the manner in which those opinions are expressed. Far too often, the tone of threads are influenced by a very vocal minority who feel the need express their opinions in aggressive, condescending ways - with little tolerance for anyone who disagrees.
  6. Agree, I don't think that is a major concern; however, I do think it can be a major asset in terms of his development at the next level. His issues have been well documented and whether or not they can be corrected at the next level remains to be seen. But there were some good things to his game as well. As stated above, he played a lot of snaps (about 40%) under center in a pro style offense the last couple of years, and I read somewhere (can't remember where) that he graded out higher than the other prospects in high quality throws on third down and in the red zone. I think there are a lot of similarities to Cam Newton and Carson Wentz. I am hoping for the best!
  7. Fans are accountable for themselves. They are welcome to feel any way they want; however, their behavior doesn't have to be divisive.
  8. Well, when you don't know, the best thing to do is to assume something nefarious...
  9. Well, unlike someone else who did so today, at least he remembered something about the face
  10. Well, I guess you could not trust them. I'm not really sure what difference it would make, either way, at this point. Time will tell...
  11. Forget about college, Cam's career NFL completion percentage is 58.5....
  12. Been following them closely since 1968 myself. He wasn't my first choice either; however, I clearly am not as disappointed as you. I was texting with my son during the pick and we were both leaning toward Rosen. We both had the same reaction: A little disappointment and then the feeling we may be better off in the long run. I do think he is a legitimate top 10 talent and I am hoping that comes through in his game. We can only wait and see. I know it isn't much; however, go watch the third quarter of the Senior Bowl - it made me feel a little better and somewhat hopeful. Hang in there, brother.
  13. I would think durability had to be a major issue. It doesn't matter how talented a player is if he cannot stay on the field
  14. Here's hoping you come back around
  15. I think, for anyone who wanted to listen, that Allen fit the things Beane has been saying he was looking for more than Rosen. IMHO, for better or for worse, I think Allen's physical attributes and athleticism reminded him of Cam Newton, and the inaccuracy issues were of less concern.
  16. The patients I'm not praising him for today are the mental ones his pick has turned loose on this forum...
