  1. It was always about tearing the team down last year, finding a franchise QB and other talent in the draft while eating the dead cap money this year, and building around their franchise QB while continuing to add defensive talent next year. Last year's playoff appearance was more a testament to good coaching, a weak AFC, and luck than it was about talent on this team. The lack of talent on the offensive side of the ball was there last year and then compounded by the losses of Wood and Incognito, a lack of cap space to acquire quality offensive free agent talent, and the need to use high draft capital on their QB of the future. You can agree with their plan or not; however, it was always pretty clear they would try to stay as competitive as they could with the talent they had, offensively, while putting themselves in a position to truly address the rebuild next year (while already having added some centerpiece players in White, Edmunds, and, hopefully, Allen). Anyone who didn't see this year coming either wasn't paying attention or didn't want to see it.
  2. Haahaa! My bad - I should have known
  3. Haha! Oakland Raiders and a 48-6 loss! Didn't deter me in the least
  4. I attended my first game in 1968. I have an adult son who is also an avid fan of the Bills and we talk after every game. In addition I have a grandson who is just beginning his love affair with the Bills. I have been through every low this team has had. I stand by what I said. It is a game. It can create strong emotions as with any passion. However, if you are allowing it to adversely affect your life or relationships, then you need to find a better way of managing a balance between your passion for the team and the rest of your life.
  5. It is a game. Allowing it to affect your relationships or anything in your life in an adverse way is, to say the least, unhealthy.
  6. There will always be extreme opinions on any topic. However, to be honest, I see very few posters defending everything this organization does or that have anointed Allen as a franchise QB. Most seem to be of the opinion that it is too early to tell how good McDermott will be as a coach, Beane will be as a GM, or Allen will be as QB. A willingness to give this coaching staff, front office, and a rookie QB the benefit of the doubt and the time to prove themselves is not the same as buying into everything this team does. It is simply a rational approach. Take a quick perusal through the threads and then objectively ask your self if they are dominated by those in the group you described or the one I described.
  7. While the game was close into the fourth quarter, Anderson was 12-22 for 136 yards (and 40 of those came on one pass). The rest of his yards came in garbage time after NE was up 25-6.
  8. It is a fan message board and all opinions should be welcome. However, it really seems there is a small group of posters who feel the need, not just to offer their opinions, but, to deliver their opinions as facts and dominate every thread with some variation of the same themes: McDermott needs to be fired, Beane needs to be fired, Allen is a bust, and the organization, overall, has no direction, plan, or any sense whatsoever of what they are doing. And, if you disagree in any way, they become angry and aggressive, and proceed to accuse you of being a kool-aid drinking homer, who has no ability to objectively evaluate this team, organization, or football in general, and blindly follows this team in nothing more than a simple, polyannish, Bills colored glasses kind of way.
  9. Because we have entered an era where "the truth" doesn't matter, only "your truth." It is about whatever your perception of the truth is at the moment, however you feel at the moment, and subjecting everyone else to those emotions - usually in some sort of adult equivalent to a two year old tantrum.
  10. If he did, it would somehow turn into his usual "Allen is a bust" post, with a little "Bills fans are too ignorant or emotional to truly understand how bad Allen is" mixed in, along with something insinuating most of us are not smart enough to see how "fantastic Rosen has looked."
  11. We are 6 games into the first season for all of them. They have each shown flashes of the potential that got them drafted in the first round. Each has also struggled at times with mechanics, accuracy, reading defensive coverages, and making good decisions. Allen and Rosen in particular have had to deal with very limited offensive talent around them. There seem to be a number of posters that want to declare with some level of certainty, how good or bad any given QB of the 4 is going to be based on very limited criteria at this point - and many of those posters display little consistency in evaluating those criteria among all 4 QBs. I see 4 rookies who are playing much like the vast majority of rookies before them. I have no idea which, if any, will develop into true franchise caliber QBs. It will be a while before we know. And, to be honest, I only care about Allen.
  12. It would be nice if we could limit fan overreaction to just the preseason...
  13. If you watched Rosen's starts and still think he has looked "fantastic," then you are engaging in the same "rose colored glasses" evaluation you incessantly accuse Allen supporters of. Not surprising... #confirmationbias
  14. This is exactly what the OP means. There are a handful of posters on this board - two of them in this thread - who have been on this crusade since Allen has been drafted...
  15. Well, I’ll get my take in now. I don’t know how good he will end up being; however, I do think he will eventually be good.
  16. As it is for every team on most fumbles and some interceptions. You don’t think the ball bounced the Titan’s way on the interception? And all defenses, even top 10 defenses, benefit from dropped passes, overthrown receivers, penalties, or some other mistake negating a big play/touchdown almost every game - even at the end of a game.
  17. With this defense, If the offense has an efficient game and scores when it has opportunities, then you have the Minnesota game...
  18. Trading McCoy would make life even more difficult for Allen. However, if they can make the team better, long-term, then I am good with a trade.
  19. Maybe you could ask your parents to take the Mahomes posters down from your bedroom walls and limit your TV time, then you wouldn't have those constant reminders? #responsibleparenting
  20. ...and, apparently, that you should never, ever lose your rage over past team decisions you didn't agree with, or stop expressing that rage in every other post that you write...
