  1. I remember reading an article a few years ago where they analyzed the productivity of all of the great quarterbacks at the end of their careers. The point was that some last longer than others; however, for almost all of them, when they did eventually decline, the decline went very quickly. It will be interesting to see what happens with Brady over the next season.
  2. I'm sorry, we are not talking about walking and chewing gum at the same time. I'm sure, as a bills fan, you would love to be wrong. My point was this: You cannot state that you have arrived at the conclusion Josh Allen is a bust and also claim to be open and objective about him. Those things are incongruent.
  3. However, as you have previously stated, you come from the perspective that Josh Allen is already bust. So, your perception of competence, when it comes to Allen, is probably different than those of us that take a more, shall we say, objective approach. Particularly if you look at his history
  4. Can't you do it yourself? BTW, isn't he the one that swore up and down that Jamies Winston was going to be the next Tom Brady?
  5. Understanding how things should be done and having the ability to actually do them are not the same thing.
  6. Right. He has started and finished four games. I say if he's not throwing for 400 yards and 6 touchdowns a game by game six, he should be cut... Yes....sarcasm....
  7. Plus he has managed to make the whole six degrees of separation concept much more efficient by finding a way, within two posts, to turn any topic into "Josh Allen sucks."
  8. Shhhh…. That will just make him angry
  9. Then it will be a good experience for him
  10. It should have crossed everybody's mind...
  11. I love that many of the same people who screamed that Peterman (of whom I have never been a fan) had his opportunities and clearly showed he was not a starting NFL QB, now want to give Matt Barkley a chance to see what he can do, based on one game - while ignoring his previous 6 NFL starts (1-6) and 7 total games played (1-7) where he threw at least 2 interceptions in 5 of those 7 games (and 5 interceptions in one game). He played a good game last week; however, it was an aberration based on his history and even in that game he had at least two passes that clearly should have been intercepted. I think Barkley is head and shoulders above Peterman and is a good backup. However, the remainder of this season is about seeing if Allen can show real development and give some indication that he can be a long term solution at QB.
  12. Hopefully, you can find a way not to be that guy. Seriously. I think most of us have been there at one point or another; however, if you can find a way to follow them that doesn't trigger such a level of frustration, it would be so much more enjoyable.
  13. No, you didn't. People can evaluate all available factors and make educated guesses; however, nobody can know for certain how any given athlete will perform in the future. Anyone claiming to have such an ability is either extremely arrogant or a fool.
  14. Think what you want of McDermott; however, he has a history of getting the most out of his defensive backfield talent.
  15. Great points. Beane and McDermott have been very clear on their philosophy of trying to win now while building for the future and, if one takes precedent over the other, it is the future. The choices they made, primarily last year, were going to make it more difficult to win this year; however, leave them with a greater ability to improve the team next year. This year was never about tanking, but, rather, about trying to win within the constraints they placed on themselves for what, they believe, are the long-term interests of the franchise.
  16. Ahhh… you really put me in my place. Shaming me over a spelling error. How will I ever recover and show my avatar face on this board again?
  17. My guess is that he wasn't sent to the PS because of poorly thrown balls....
  18. Not mad at all. There were times teams ran up and down the field on us when Darius was here. When Darius wanted to play, he was elite. The problem was that he never played that way on a consistent basis and was nowhere near the dominant player (again, on a consistent basis) to warrant the contract he was awarded. It may have had initial repercussions; however, IMHO, the long-term benefits outweigh those repercussions - and it is not even close.
  19. Tell us again how they got rid of Darius because he wasn't their guy (which doesn't explain keeping Hughes and others) - and not because he was a lazy, under-performing head case, who didn't perform to the level of his contract on anywhere near a consistent basis. BTW, the Bills' rushing defense has a better DVOA than Jax. Talk about adding nothing....
  20. Apparently, you and the national media have a lot in common.
  21. Just my humble opinion; however, I think there were a number of posters who went beyond criticizing Peterman's abilities on the field, and went to a personal level, particularly ridiculing him for his faith. It's not so much “omg he’s a nice guy how could you say that about him,” as it is that some of it seems excessive and unnecessary. I think there are a number of posters, myself included, who feel bad and, maybe, a bit protective when we feel things cross the line of decency.
  22. He made it to the NFL and had his opportunities. He just wasn't an NFL caliber QB. It was the right move and I wish him the best. I don't quite understand the personal shots at him by some, particularly regarding his faith. Seems unnecessary.
