  1. 1. Every QB faces that every game 2. At home? 3. Or, maybe a win in his first game back 4. Pure speculation with absolutely no foundation 4. They are at 3-7 and, realistically, their season is over - and he hasn't played in over a month (they were 2-3 when he went down). I'm thinking that burden is pretty well distributed. What evidence do you have that Allen is going to psychologically crumble and his development stunted because of some adversity? Seriously, what specific evidence, in regard to Allen, are you basing this on?
  2. What happened with this team prior to last year has absolutely no bearing on the current front office or coaching staff - only your own personal frustration.
  3. Usually, when I hear someone give an opinion and declare everyone else is stupid, it is just the exact opposite.
  4. Because Barkley's history of NFL play (started or played a significant amount of time in 10 games, won 2 of them, and turned the ball over 2 or more times in 7 of them) tells us he is the QB to lead this team on a 7 game winning streak...
  5. While it is true that the brain is still developing into early adulthood, there is no scientific evidence indicating a specific point of maturity, from cognitive or behavioral perspectives at the general population level, much less applied to any given individual. Also, what sources to you have to substantiate it is the "biggest underlying reason" for the argument that rookies should sit?
  6. Dahlin was absolutely a joy to watch tonight. There were about four or five moments in this game where you could see that "generational talent" emerging.
  7. You're right. Either way, if he would have played those games in Buffalo, it would have been enough, for the same people who want to start him now to "see what he can do," to want him run out of town and banished from society....
  8. Yes, let's just ignore his body of work up until this point. Started six NFL games and played in seven, throwing 8 TDs and 14 INTs, with at least 2 or more INTs in 5 of those seven games (and 5 INTs in one game). He has been evaluated by GMs and coaches on four teams and determined not to be starting QB caliber.
  9. I have no idea why they have such a rule; however, it is a rule. If the players and coaches decide to discuss it and change it, so be it. But, until then, it is a rule, no matter how trivial it seems. With that said, Applewhite could have simply told Oliver to take it off without physically trying to remove it - or, even better, waited until halftime to address it in the locker room. As for Oliver, definitely not a good look to have to be physically restrained by a teammate. I don't know anything about Oliver or Applewhite, in regard to the types of people they are, or the dynamics of their particular relationship - or what personal issue either or both may be dealing with in their respective lives. Hopefully, nothing more than a single incident.
  10. They are learning how to win. So much more enjoyable watching them now
  11. You apparently haven't heard: He didn't put up great stats in college.
  12. I think the majority of us are with you on a patient, wait and see approach.
  13. Well, let me see. I have never stated that Allen was going to be good or bad, only that I was willing to wait through next season before drawing any definitive conclusions. You have been declaring him a bust in every other post you have written since he was drafted and use stats from 20 quarters of play and 139 attempts to justify a conclusion you reached before he ever stepped on the field. It sure does sounds like one of us is not being objective and reasonable. I wonder which one? Hmmm...
  14. It is a huge gamble with, virtually, every QB. You have absolutely no idea which one will pan out and which one will not. You have thought Allen was going to be a bust since he was drafted. You are hardly an objective observer.
  15. I would say there was a down turn in play at almost every position on offense. I do not believe Taylor would have altered that. It is pure speculation and we all have our opinions. We will never know because he is sitting on the bench in Cleveland.
  16. Absolutely. I like the direction things are going. Let's wait and see on Allen
  17. Or maybe they will all be very good. That is the point. We aren't going to know for awhile. Drawing conclusions at this point are futile, at best.
  18. Some might argue that they broke the playoff drought in spite of Taylor being at the helm of the 31st ranked passing game - not because of it.
  19. Well, by your standard, you must be really disappointed in Rosen and Darnold. Given what they showed at their respective schools, they should be light years ahead of Allen, at this point, in the NFL. Hmmmm.... Maybe they are all just playing like rookies...
  20. Although, if that player is a QB, it would be nice if one of the things he did well was actually be a QB. Just sayin'
  21. What he was in college is irrelevant at this point. He will succeed or fail based on what he does in the NFL. Nobody knows what that will be right now. Drawing any long-term conclusions based on 20 quarters of play and 139 attempts is nonsensical. I will wait to see how he progresses the remainder of this season and next year before drawing any difinitive conclusions. As far as Taylor? I wish him well; however, IMO, he is not and was not the answer for this team.
  22. Actually, I haven't ignored his NFL career at all. It has been exactly what I said it was: Mediocre. It has led him to where he is now: On his 3rd team in 8 years and riding the bench. Apparently NFL head coaches and General Managers of three teams don't agree with you. BTW, drawing conclusions about a rookie QB from 139 pass attempts is beyond ridiculous. You are the very thing you rail against.
