  1. I'm sure they will be along shortly to inform us all that we have no idea just how bad Allen was today
  2. There really couldn't be a more overblown criticism of Allen.
  3. Always the cloud inside the silver lining...
  4. Because insensitive movie and music quotes from a 15 year old on twitter seven years ago should make any grown man angry...
  5. Gone? Goodbye?
  6. Which were, for the most part, in spite of Taylor. I think he is the best QB they have had this century; however, he wasn't good last year. That alone should make him ineligible for the list. No heart.
  7. Not nervous at all. I am excited for Allen to be back on the field, and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do the remainder of the year!
  8. Actually, I didn't think everything in the post was a fair or accurate evaluation. You can feel whatever you want. My post was in reference to a general comment that given the current state of the NFL that Allen's struggles show he is nowhere near competent to be a starter. I happen to disagree. I don't think he is that far off - the same as I don't happen to think Rosen and Darnold are that far off - the same as I didn't think Goff was that far off - and others when they all have/had similar struggles. I never said that Rosen or Darnold or Goff or any other QB had anything to do with Allen specifically. My comment was that the same sentiment could apply to those QBs and I don't think it would be any more accurate than it is for Allen. Just my opinion.
  9. I never said anyone couldn't evaluate him. I simply gave my opinion - even stating it was just my opinion. I know you think Allen is a bust; however, there are those of us around here who happen to think it is way too early to tell. Why are you so sensitive?
  10. Apparently Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold didn't get the memo of the game being tailor made for them, as their stats and play have been similar to Allen. If you haven't seen that, then you haven't been watching them. Allen has played like most rookies on bad offensive teams (hello Jared Goff and others). He struggled a great deal; however, it wasn't just him. The offense has had two good games this season against the Vikings and Jets. I love how Allen's performance was a fluke (even without the 100+ yards and 2 TDs dropped by receivers in that game), yet Barkley's performance was not, even though his entire NFL history says otherwise. I have no idea how good or bad Josh Allen will be; however, this idea that he has somehow been drastically worse than what we typically see with rookie QBs on bad offensive teams is, IMO, ridiculous. I guess we will see.
  11. Agree. I remember following OJ at USC in 1968, hoping the Bills would draft him, and I was ecstatic when they did. I might be a bit biased because he was on our team; however, I have never seen another back with a combination of size, speed, power, and elusiveness that came together in a more smooth, fluid, graceful running style. It was amazing to watch.
  12. To the OP: one might agree with the win total, but not the sentiment you attached to it. For example, they could go 3-3 and actually look impressive in their play. Or, one might think they will finish 1-5, but not feel that wins hurt more than they help.
  13. It wasn't just Allen who contributed to that miserable offense; however, he definitely needs to show improvement in understanding what he is seeing pre and post snap, trusting his protection when it is there, being more decisive in his throws, and sustaining drives. He played in six games at the beginning of the year: 4 against defenses ranked in the top 11 (DVOA), 1 ranked 15th, and 1 ranked 20th. It has been five weeks since the last time he played. I think we will see that improvement; although, he is facing a very good Jacksonville defense (6th in DVOA), so, he may struggle initially getting back on the field. If (1) they can spread that Jacksonville defense by utilizing some of this speed they have begun inserting with Allen hitting several intermediate to long throws early, (2) the line can open some holes for the running game and create some opportunities for play action (which is actually one of Allen's strengths), and (3) the pass protection is adequate, then I think we will see some of that improvement from Allen in this week - but, Jacksonville is capable of playing very good defense and I expect it will be a tough, first game back. Regardless, I do believe we will see improvement from him over these next six games. I see them finishing the year strong and going 4-2, with much better play, offensively from Allen and others.
  14. Somehow I ended up doing the majority of cooking on the holidays - but I don't mind. All the family gathering at our house for Thanksgiving and I started at 5:00 this morning working on the menu: Turkey, ham, grilled Salmon (for our vegetarian folks), grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, rice, and store bought pies (I am willing to go only so far in the cooking department). Love having the family together - and so much to be thankful for! Happy Thanksgiving to all - even those I continually disagree with !!!!!!!!!
  15. Perhaps you should go back to the original post(s) and see if you can figure out the point, all on your own, and to whom I was addressing that point. I would try to explain it to you; however, something tells me it would be a waste of time on someone who wants to fire a coach 1.5 years into a rebuilding process. You have very little ability to see anything regarding the Bills organization, Beane, McDermott, or Allen in an objective light. Case in point: You declared Allen a bust before he got off the stage the night he was drafted and have done nothing but look for anything that confirms what you have already decided. You have done the same with McDermott. Thank God most of the posters on this board take a reasonable approach to all of this - rather than posters like you who inundate everyone else with post after post demanding people to be fired, or how much Josh Allen sucks, or some other point that lets everyone know your general discontent with everything Bills - and how your happiness in life is somehow dependent upon how a football team performs.
  16. They might right now; however, as usual, you missed the entire point. Thanks for playing.
  17. I think your dislike for McDermott clouds what little judgement you have. I could go on with this debate; however, something tells me that eventually I am just going to roll my eyes and say, "there's an hour or so of my life I'll never get back." So, let's just agree to disagree. Cheers.
  18. My original post, and subsequent explanations to you, addressed those that wanted McDermott fired and listed, as a primary or secondary reason, what he had done this year with what was, last year, a playoff team. What is so difficult for you to understand about that? Or is it that you have to keep finding semantic issues to dwell on so you don't have to address anything substantively?
  19. I'm not sure. It certainly would make sense; however, I wouldn't imagine Ramsey would shy away from directly stating that was the reason, or even a contributing reason - rather, than going on about Allen's inability to beat a big school while at Wyoming. But then again, it is Ramsey and half the s@#t he says doesn't make much sense.
  20. Perhaps TBD can create an additional step in the posting process that serves an evaluative function between the time a thought enters a poster's mind and the point he starts a thread or submits a post. Sort of like the window that pops up and says, "Are you sure?" when you want to delete a file from your computer. Except, in this instance, a window would pop up and display something like: "Please read your post. Would this post make any sense to anyone with an IQ above room temperature and even a cursory understanding of football?" If you select "yes," then it is created. If you select "no," then it is deleted and you get a gold star in your community rating for self awareness.
  21. We are Bills fans. Complaining is in our DNA.
  22. There have been plenty of posts on this board demanding McDermott be fired and CLEARLY stating, as a primary reason, what he has done with a "playoff" team. If you choose to believe those posts were never written, feel free. Leaving that aside, you say, even if it were true, McDermott should be judged more harshly because of the nature of the offense and more blowouts? Seriously? The coach should be fired because his 29th or 30th ranked offense from last year (that managed a grand 3 points in the playoff loss) is worse in a rebuilding year, playing, to date, the 3rd hardest schedule (DVOA of opponents)? Yet, a coach with Super Bowl winning talent on his team, whose offense has dropped from 7th to 19th, whose defense dropped from 4th to 23rd, whose team has been embarrassed on the field, and whose record, in a weak division and playing the 21st hardest schedule, is one win better than the rebuilding Bills shouldn't be judged as harshly? Let me be clear. I think it is absolutely asinine to think either one should be fired. At least I'm consistent.
  23. Right. If we won the Super Bowl last year, were currently 4-6, struggling on both sides of the ball, and just came off a 48-7 loss that wasn't even as close as the final score - you would be clamoring for somebody to be fired. LOL
  24. And yet you singled out Josh Allen, a rookie QB who hasn’t played in five weeks, and has played 20 total quarters of NFL football. No agenda there...
  25. Not hard to imagine you can find a way to turn any topic into “Josh Allen sucks.”
