Not arguing with you there. However, completion percentage doesn't, in and of itself, provide a complete assessment of accuracy. When I look at Allen, both at Wyoming and with the Bills, I do not see his accuracy as an issue that will prevent him from becoming a franchise caliber QB. I see a QB that is always looking to push the ball downfield (at the top of the league in length of pass per attempt), who throws a lot of passes into tight windows, who throws a lot of passes while moving to extend plays, all while playing with limited talent on the OL and at the offensive skill positions. It is just my opinion; but, I think Allen's style of play, rather than ability, is likely to keep him in the sub 60% completion range (much like Cam Newton, who has spent much of his career in that range). I know this much: After watching Allen the last two games, I didn't walk away thinking, "I wish he was a more accurate passer." I walked away thinking that I loved his willingness to attempt the kind of throws I have been waiting for from our QBs since Kelly. I also walked away thinking this rookie QB just threw 5 or 6 passes that only a handful of quarterbacks could ever make. Again, just my opinion.

Good post and spot on. People take such simplistic approach to this. If you don’t hit the magical 60% then, clearly, you are an inaccurate passer. So much to every single throw.

You didn't. It is his go to schtick. He loves to spout off inane opinions with no factual basis and, then, accuse others of ignoring the facts.

You went on and on about how he struggles in the short to intermediate throws. Tell us which short to intermediate throws he struggled with in the last two weeks? It is a simple question.

Speaking of which, I am still waiting for you to tell us which short to intermediate passes that Allen struggled with in yesterday's game.

So, an interception on a Hail Mary pass is horrendous? Which short throws in yesterday's game did Allen have trouble with? I counted twelve short to medium (15 yards and under) throws. He was 11-12 on those throws and showed plenty of touch and good ball placement.

And all I was trying to say is that this is a Bills message board. Most of us are pretty knowledgeable about our team and have a pretty objective view of what we are seeing in Josh Allen.

I think he has shown plenty of ability in the last two weeks of being able to step up into the pocket and deliver big time throws -much more so than early this season. I agree that I would like to see him make more plays from the pocket and less with his legs; however, I don't believe that is all on Allen. I think we will see a lot of improvement with upgrades on the OL and at skill positions. I think if teams try to contain him in the pocket by dropping more into coverage and rushing fewer people I believe he will make plays from the pocket. I've seen him throw more intermediate to long passes, into tight windows, in the last two weeks than I saw from Tyrod all last year. He has so much room for improvement; however, he played some pretty good football the last two weeks and it is very encouraging. Also, in two of his his previous six games, he led the team on game winning fourth quarter drives (and we don't know what he might have done in the Houston game). He came pretty damn close to having his third, fourth quarter, game winning drive in seven games total. There is a lot he needs to improve on and there is also a lot to be excited about.

And in the same span he's been accused of almost legendary inaccuracy, having no ability to go through his reads, an inability to stand in the pocket, an inability to read a defense pre or post snap, and probably looking for employment by the end of next year. Yesterday was a big day for his critics, if you don't count the fact that he was the best offensive player on the field in his seventh game at the NFL level I may be wrong; however, I think the many posts being optimistic about Allen's future might have something to do with the fact that this is a Bills message board. If it is alright with you, we'll just go on being positive about our QB.

You should check the keyboard on your computer to see if it is working properly. It seems that whatever you type, it always comes out as some version of "Allen sucks." P.S. - (1) Allen didn't play against the Jets, (2) the Jets actually do have a good defense, and (3) Allen played against a pretty good Jax defense last week

If you listen to McDermott in his press conference, that miss was on Zay - he was supposed sit on that route.

She was already down and dazed at that point, so, I think it is far from definitive that he might, or might not, have done something worse at any point earlier when he was clearly being restrained while trying to get to her. As I said before, I don't want to indict him on speculation of what he might have done; however, I am also not going to say it is clear that he wouldn't have done more. In the end, IMO, he crossed the line with the behavior he did engage in and the NFL and his team have every right to impose some punishment. How much punishment, the consistency of that punishment in regard to other players, and whether he deserves another chance are all different topics.
