  1. Perhaps the reason for 1800 yds is the fact he only attempted 270 passes. Counter that with Rosen, who had 452 attempts for 3700 yards last year. However, in 2016, Allen had 373 attempts for 3200, while Rosen had 231 attempts for 1900 yds. Funny how that goes...
  2. Why are you bringing objectivity and reason into this? BTW: Greetings from another Bills fan in the Raleigh area
  3. I stopped after “his propensity for throwing bad passes” knowing I would arrive at this same conclusion...
  4. I'm not sure it is possible to stop being a fan of a team you have followed for 30 years. However, it is 100% your choice on how you choose to be affected by the team you follow. You can understand you have absolutely no control over how the team performs and find ways to not let the bad times adversely affect your life. Or, you can just continue to be miserable when things don't go well. I have followed this team for over 50 years and I do not think I could just stop being a fan. I have changed how I deal with being a fan of the Bills; however, I couldn't just stop being a fan - although, heaven knows I've had my moments of wondering, just like you.
  5. I honestly don't know how you could walk away from Allen's post game press conference thinking anything other than he was owning up to his mistakes, understood full well how important ball security is, and that he needs to do better. I think the OP is misinterpreting the statement. There were several times Allen was talking about risk vs reward, as in when he was explaining the interception at the end of the game. He stated there was a little over a minute left on the clock and they had no timeouts - and they needed "large chunks" of yardage and "checkdowns" were not going to help them. I believe that was a moment when ball security wasn't the most important thing to him. He still admitted it was a bad pass; however, he was trying to push the ball deep close to the sidelines - a pass he might not have attempted otherwise. On the other hand, when he talked about the 1st interception he clearly stated it was too much risk for limited reward and that he cannot make those kinds of throws. He owned up to some bad decisions. I'm good with that.
  6. And we have the video right in front of us. It wasn't at his ankles, it wasn't at his knees, and Clay didn't have to do anything at all except catch it. There are passes one could point to as examples of Allen's inaccuracy. This isn't one of them.
  7. In another thread, you said, "The guy is wide open with nothing but green grass in front of him and Allen threw a bullet at his ankles" In this thread, you said, "He's wide open and Allen throws a bullet at his knees." Now, it's at his waist, but he has to stretch for it. Which is it?
  8. Not only was it a good throw, but, Clay never even would have had to slow his stride and there was nobody in front of him for 20 yards.
  9. An absolutely awful take. Just watched it in slow mo several times. The ball was in front of Clay, waist high, in his hands. Nothing wrong with that pass. That drop was completely on Clay.
  10. Am I mistaken, or have I seen various versions of this same thread started by the same poster?
  11. It's not worth the effort. There are certain posters on this board who will carry on the narrative of Allen not just being inaccurate, but inaccurate in such a way that you would think he could barely keep a pass in the field of play.
  12. He is having an extraordinary year
  13. Not contorting myself into knots and not upset in any way. Merely pointing out the inaccuracy fallacy that people seem to desparately cling to around here. Not sure why that bothers you so much...
  14. I don't know for sure. It does appear to change trajectory. However, as to your overall point, I agree with you 100%. It was the only "wtf?" pass he could find in the last two games - which is enough for him to proclaim Allen to be abysmal.... How about 60% completion rate over the last two games on passes he actually threw to receivers. I don't worship Josh Allen (you won't find any posts of mine to support that) and I certainly don't think it is beyond the bounds to ask anyone to support their claims of inaccuracy over the last two weeks. Repeating tired narratives is so lazy. Sorry if it offends you to ask people to support their claims.
  15. I watched that play in slow mo on the all 22 and I don't think it was tipped. Regardless, that was the one pass in the last two games that was in the category of "wildly" inaccurate. It is clear that Allen is playing much better football since coming back from his injury. This non-stop criticism of his accuracy is, IMO, ridiculous. If people come away from the last two games thinking his accuracy was a real issue, then, that is what they wanted to see. In the last two games he was 26 for 52 for a 50% completion rate. However, if you take away the two Hail Mary passes and the 7 intentional throw aways (to avoid a sack or negative play), then he was 26 for 43, for a 60% completion rate, 391 yards, and 3 TDs. And I won't even address the passess that should have been caught or the completions that were negated by penalty.
  16. I was living in NC at the time. I went to the gym to work out all my frustrations toward the end of the first half (thinking the game was all but over) - and . As I was walking out of the gym to head back home, there was a TV on and and the scoreboard was flashing "DEFENSE" and they were showing fans standing on their feet screaming - and then they showed the score and it was 38-31. Sat down and watched the rest of it right there.
  17. Please point out for us the plays in the Miami game that show his inaccuracy. He completed 11 of 12 passes under 20 yards. For the game, he deliberately threw 5 passes away to avoid a sack and completed 64% of all passes he actually tried to get to a receiver. Your takes are nothing more than lazy regurgitations of an overblown narrative. Josh Allen's passes are infinitely more accurate than your evaluations of his play.
  18. Perhaps, if we convince him that Brady has six fingers on his right hand, he could take care of that nagging little problem we have up in NE for us?
  19. I probably take more pleasure than I should in an embarrassing loss by Jacksonville.
  20. I am hoping so. On draft night, I really had no idea which, if any, of the 1st round QBs would eventually become franchise caliber QBs - and I still don't know. What I do know is this: I absolutely love the toughness, fearlessness, passion, drive and character of Allen. I remember, shortly after the draft, Beane saying, "This kid is Buffalo." I couldn't agree more. I hope he reaches his potential and becomes a franchise QB, because, out of the five QBs taken in the first round, Allen has everything I have always wanted in a QB for our team. Here's hoping for a bright future.
  21. Are you sure the posts you were reading were on this board?
  22. Definitely optimistic. The most optimistic I have been about a Bills QB since Kelly.
  23. I will be honest here. It probably was the most optimistic I have been after a loss since Kelly's arrival. I have gone on record over and over saying I have no idea whether Allen will ever be a franchise QB. However, there is something about watching him play that makes me FEEL like he truly could be.
