I know his family is important to him and his health is always a concern. However, I do think he could still be productive next year and I would like to see him back as well. This next year is a critical time for this FO and coaching staff: Their ability to add real impactful talent through free agency and the draft, the progression of present players (primarily Allen and Edmunds), and how it all comes together on the field in 2019. From outward appearances, Williams has been a big supporter of McDermott with a belief in what he is trying to do. IMO, he strikes me as a guy who, in his decision making process, would put considerable weight on wanting to see this "third year" through. I also think he would be an important piece of their success - if it happens.

I don't believe in the 3 year plan happening in '19

Yes, they traded all those guys to acquire the means (draft picks for 2018 and 2019, and cap space for 2019) to build a championship caliber team. Now we need to see what they do with those draft picks and cap space in 2019. If they do well, then they are on their way to building the team we all want. If they do not do well, we will be starting over again in a couple of years. We can only wait and see. -
Nowhere in his post did he even come close to saying Josh Allen was perfect. Just an observation: You seem to do a lot of the very thing you accuse so many people of doing to you.

What level of success any QB in the history of the NFL achieved has absolutely no relevance to how successful Josh Allen will or will not be. Zero. My post regarding Ryan and Favre were in response to a poster saying no QB ever was successful in the NFL that had similar college stats to Josh Allen. Wrong.

Matt Ryan threw the ball 654 times for his 4000+ yds. The most attempts Josh Allen had in a season was 373 (281 less attempts and still 3000+ yds). In that season, he had a higher Y/A, AY/A, TD to Attempt ratio (only 3 less TDs on 281 less attempts), and QB rating than Ryan had in his 4000+yds year. Not to mention that was Ryan's third full season of college ball.

They haven't made those draft picks yet. They haven't used any of that cap space for free agents yet. So how can they have eveything they need? Why don't we just wait and see what happens. Honestly, your posts are nonsensical. -
Rating the Rookie QBs - What the Numbers Show
billsfan1959 replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Go back and watch the All-22 on his games from the beginning of this year. You can see instance after instance in the last 4-5 games where he has improved on his touch, reading defenses pre and post snap, going through his progressions, trusting his pocket, etc. He is a rookie, who is going through typical rookie growing pains, and who has so much to learn and so much to improve on. However, to say he hasn't grown a bit as a passer shows a complete inability to objectively assess his play on the field. -
Merry Christmas Josh Allen and Family

Wishing Josh and all the Bills a wonderful holiday season and wishes for bright future! P.S. - Santa, if you could find it in your heart to leave Josh just one NFL caliber receiver in his stockings, I would greatly appreciate it.... -

You must have missed the lack of talent along the Oline and receiver postions when you were assessing whether or not "this regime has everything they want now." -
He does need to do a better job, at times, of taking what is there and I believe that will come with more experience. However, I love that he wants that 30-50 yard chunk first - and I hope he never loses that.

Feeling very blessed this Christmas and hope you all are as well! Happy holidays!

I don't think it was the dissenting opinion....

Not really. In the grand scheme of things, how much or how little success any given person has playing a game is far down the list of things that scare me. I have no idea how Josh Allen will turn out. He might be the franchise player this team has been searching for or he may end up out of the league in 4-5 years. Only time will tell. What I do know is that it is nonsensical to think you can derive anything meaningful about how successful Josh Allen might be from how his rookie season compares to EJ Manuel's rookie season.
-
I'd say that speaks volumes about EJ Manuel You seem a bit obsessed with Josh Allen and EJ Manuel comparisons. They are completely different QBs with different skill sets, different personalities, who played on different teams, with different players around them, under different coaching staffs, and under completely different circumstances. There is no relevance between the two. How well Josh Allen does in comparison to what EJ Manuel did means nothing at all. Talk about silly logic.
