  1. I agree 100%. IMO, Beane and McDermott believe they have built a foundation for what they are trying to do, and have the opportunity this offseason to take a big step forward. I don't think either one has a problem bringing in a player that has issues; however, I do not see them bringing in anyone with issues that have any potential to undermine what they have worked so hard to create.
  2. I really love the athleticism of Fant and I believe he is the type of TE that is perfect for Allen, particularly if the team keeps adding speed at the WR position.
  3. These are all areas he needs to work on and I believe experience will be the biggest contributing factor with regard to recognition. He will eventually learn when he needs to take those short throws that he passes up on now for the "chunk" plays. But, honestly, I hope he never loses that desire to look for that 20-40 yard throw first. In regard to accuracy, I do not believe he will ever be a high precision passer; however, I do not think he needs to be. I believe he has more than enough ability to put the ball on target and give his receivers a chance to make plays. His ceiling is even higher than I thought it would be. I am pretty optimistic right now.
  4. Love this kid - flaws and all. Something special about him and I hope they reward him with a good offensive line and playmakers this offseason. How could you not be excited?
  5. Greetings from Wake Forest. I do think velocity was an issue with some passes. In some instances, Allen could have put a better touch on the ball; in some instances, the velocity was more an issue of disrupting timing; and in some instances, a better receiver would have made the catch. I think all of those issues will improve as Allen's experience increases, as he is surrounded by better receivers, and with more time developing chemistry between Allen and those recivers.
  6. Certainly not all were "drops." I would say some of them "should" have been caught; while, all of them "could" have been caught. I don't particularly care what they meant in terms of completion percentage as much as what they meant in on field effects: Ends of drives, loss of field position, change in momentum, point production, and ultimately, the difference in possibly winning 2-3 more games.
  7. I'll take the guy that tries to make that 3rd and 25 throw. I've had enough of the QBs who take the short pass. I'm not saying there isn't a time to take that dump off or check down; however, for Allen, if it is a choice between a higher risk throw for a first down on 3rd and 25 or a short throw and punt - I'll take that first down attempt most of the time.
  8. Agree. I think the continuity for Allen would be incredibly beneficial at this point in his career. Also, I like Daboll and I am interested to see what he does with an upgraded roster.
  9. They all had different players around them, coaches, game plans, opponents, circumstances, skill sets, personalities, etc., etc.... A fun exercise to compare the QBs; however, completely meaningless
  10. I really like what I have see from Allen. I think he has much room for improvemet and I am excited as well to see what they do in the offseason and how much he improves next year. I truly have no problem with your post other than the comparison. With all due respect, we just disagree. I was not an EJ hater either; however, I do not believe what EJ did (or any other QB for that matter) is relevant or offers any kind of perspctive or insight into how much or how little success Allen will have in the future. There just are not enough common variables between Allen and any other QB to draw any legitimate conclusions..
  11. Better late than never in putting some experience around Josh with both Barkley and Anderson
  12. It wasn't particularly at you and I didn't mean to offend you. It is just that I have read so many posts where the stats of some other QB are compared to Allen. Allen has a different skill set, a different personality structure, plays for different coaches under different schemes, with different players around him, and under different circumstances from game to game (even play to play) than any other QB. How any other QB did really doesn't offer any meaningful perspective in regard to Allen. However, if you are intent on doing that, then why did you choose a QB who failed - rather than one who went on to succeed?
  13. There is much to be optimistic about with Josh Allen. Just as an aside: The statistics of EJ Manuel or any other QB in the history of the NFL have absolutely no relevance to Josh Allen and offer no meaningful perspective to his play as a QB.
  14. You're right. At 42-17 with 1:21 left in the game, they sure could have used those 3 insurance points. Thank God it didn't come back to bite them....
  15. What did Shady ever do to you that you would subject him to playing for Marrone? That's like asking to put a horse down just because he seemed slower in his last few races...
  16. If you took away every post of his that was some variation of "this team sucks, the FO sucks, the coaching staff sucks, the organization sucks, or (fill in the blank) sucks," he would probably have a post count of 2....
  17. He didn't say that. He stated the combination of physical skills and intelligence. However, if he did, then would that really surprise you? This is a Bills message board. Plus: It might be true.
  18. Right. He hit him shoulder to shoulder. He didn't lower his head and lead with the crown, he didn't hit head to head (or target the head), he didn't go low at his knees, and there was nothing at all to suggest he tried, in any way, to intentionally injure the guy. That's football.
  19. Not specifically meant for the OP; however, I don't think I have ever seen a QB, much less a rookie QB, whose every pass is so over analyzed by a fan base.
  20. Yes, he is clearly, intentionally trying to injure other players. Given his history and what he tried to do today, I think he should be suspended for a game or two - to send a message to him. He needs to stop before he seriously injures someone else or himself.
  21. I wanted them to win for Kyle - but I always want them to beat the Dolphins, as I still haven't gotten over that whole "0 for the seventies" debacle.
  22. There are absolutely no statistics that are relevant to how good or how bad Josh Allen will be. None.
  23. How about the Gary Marangi award for worst career QB rating: Nathan Peterman
  24. NFL history is littered with good and great quarterbacks who didn't know when to retire...
  25. There is no doubt that Allen passes up shorter, safer, and more certain completions to look for those in that 25-40 yard range, and, with more experience, I believe he'll get better at knowing when to take those shorter, higher percentage, throws. However, I absolutely love that he looks for those 25-40 yard passes first and that is who he is. I hope they put the right talent around him to maximize that aspect of his game.
