  1. That is not even close to what the OP was saying.
  2. Good advice. Looking forward to tonight. Enjoy! Go Bills!
  3. I think it is entirely possible they end up with Fant. Or maybe they put together a deal to acquire Rosen from Arizona...
  4. Agree: Metcalf's skill set is well matched to Allen's strengths. It would be nice if they could move back, pick up another pick and still get Metcalf (if they want him) in the mid 1st round range. I don't believe he drops much past that.
  5. It may entirely be the case that the Giants didn't feel any QB after Mayfield was worth the #2 pick and that there would be an opportunity to select a QB this year. They may not use their first pick for a QB; however, I would be really surprised if they didn't use their 2nd pick (or package it with something else to move up) to select an heir to Eli. It would be a tough sell to pass up an opportunity to get one of the top rated QBs two years in a row.
  6. Clearly they feel there is enough evidence to determine a crime has been committed and fear enough for the child's safety to have him removed from the home. However, it is also clear there is not enough evidence to determine which parent is responsible, indicating neither parent is cooperating. Not an uncommon occurrence in these types of cases and, IMO, pretty much makes both parents pieces of s#@t...
  7. I can see this is causing you considerable stress. Perhaps you should go to Bills related thread to calm down before you have an aneurysm...
  8. @Buffalo Barbarian is a long time Bills fan, so, he is posting in HIS team's site. Believe it or not, we (the collective we as Bills fans) like to talk football that sometimes involve other teams. If it is an "affront" to you, then stay out of those threads.
  9. I would have thought the thread title might have provided a clue for you...
  10. Yeah, I go back and forth on this. You are right in what Beane has said about a #1 receiver; however, I still feel as if he would like one. On the other hand, there is no denying they need an edge rusher. I certainly could live with either. I guess the best of both worlds would be to grab Burns there and hope Metcalf slides to a spot they could move up to - or have the opportunity to grab N'Keal Harry, who I put right behind Metcalf. No matter what happens, I have a feeling it is going to be an interesting night. Cheers!
  11. Then why did you open this thread and proceed to post in it?
  12. Apparently, so does Gettleman...
  13. Agree. I don't see them selecting someone at 9 that they didn't bring in. I think their preference is to move; however, if they remain at 9 and it comes down to Burns or Metcalf, I think they may go Metcalf. I say that because (1) I really believe Beane wants to find a #1 receiver for Allen (as evidenced by his willingness to pursue a douche like Antonio Brown); (2) Metcalf, IMO, provides a skill set that matches up well with Allen's strengths; and (3) defensive help is deep in this draft.
  14. My son is 28 and I am hoping he gets to experience something close to what we did during the Super Bowl years - with an actual SB win to go with it . It feels like they are on the verge of turning that proverbial corner. Here's hoping for good things tonight!
  15. I agree that he won't pick a QB with the first pick. However, he may do so with their second 1st round pick. IMO, he should have taken one last year, regardless of how good Saquon Barkley is.
  16. What a great experience for you and your son! My son and I have shared a passion for the Bills since he was old enough to root for a sports team (which, unfortunately for him, coincided with the end of their Super Bowl run). He lives and works in another state now. However, we still talk a couple of times a week (and always after a Bills game) and our conversations always include something about the Bills and Sabres. We will be on the phone tonight during the draft. The Bills have not been very good since my son became a fan; however, we certainly share a lot of wonderful memories because of them. Have a wonderful time with your son and I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
  17. Actually, it would probably be the best move at #9 to truly help Allen grow into the QB he has the potential to become.
  18. I'm not missing the point at all. The title of the thread is "Case against first round TEs" and is from an article that essentially gives a history of the success of tight ends and what rounds they were drafted in. Also, I am absolutely certain that coaches and GMs have a good understanding of which positions present a greater challenge in transitioning from college to the NFL. My point is that none of that has any bearing at all on drafting any specific tight end. The only things that matter are those variables unique to that specific tight end. Hockenson, for example, may not have near the learning curve that another tight end might have (or it may be greater). The point is that he is a unique, individual athlete that may warrant being selected in the 1st round based on those variables unique to him - regardless of what other tight ends have done or what GMs think about the tight end position in general.
  19. The point of this thread was to say that history indicates tight ends shouldn't be selected in the 1st round. That argument is a non-starter as there is absolutely no correlation between the history of drafting tight ends (in any round) and where Hockenson should be selected or how successful he will be. All the rest is pure speculation, such as your assertion he " he probably won't light the league up next year." People are welcome to their opinions; however, trying to wrap them up in some sort of scientific/statistical confirmation is, IMO, ridiculous.
  20. Actually, IMO, it is. However, we can just agree to disagree. Cheers.
  21. Nonsense. I'm pretty sure you see the speed of the player you are looking at. How they do against opposing players is relative to the speed of those opposing players; however, I'm fairly confident NFL scouts have the ability to take that into consideration. The vast majority of linebackers and cornerbacks that Div I receivers play against will never play in the NFL. So, by your theory, maybe teams should never select any college receivers in the draft because there is no way to adequately analyze game film unless it is against NFL caliber LBs and DBs (which, of course, would be projections unless they have already been drafted and been successful in the NFL)
  22. Happy belated anniversary! And congrats to Tre White!
  23. And this is relevant to Hockenson, how?
  24. This just might be the worst assessment I have read regarding Hockenson…. Have you actually watched any film on him?
