  1. The wide receiver position is not, I'm sure, where the team would like it to be, nor where most fans would like it to be. However, it is not nearly as dire as the OP and others are claiming. Beane clearly recognizes the need to upgrade the position as evidenced by considering a trade for Antonio Brown. My own personal opinion is that he is not done addressing the position. With that said, the most efficient way to help Allen improve his play this year is to give him a strong Oline and running game. Those two things alone will allow him to use his strengths (throwing downfield, play action, etc) while he develops / refines other skills / abilities. It will also make the receivers they currently have on the team better. I would have loved taking a chance on DK Metcalf or one of the other top receivers in this class; however, I believe the Bills got better value and addressed more foundational needs with the picks they made. Wide receiver upgrades will eventually happen. Beane has done a good job so far. Rome wasn't built in a day. We'll see how it plays out on the field, but, in my opinion, this team is so much further ahead now than they were at the end of last year - and it will only get better.
  2. Then it would have been about a segment of the fan base, rather than the team
  3. I think it is safer to assume they did not get what they wanted and they are going to let everyone know how unhappy there are...over...and over... Facts do not matter as much as the need to express their unhappiness
  4. I want a WR as well. I don’t know if we will be able to get DK or Butler; however, we may be able to get someone like Mles Boykin in the 3rd
  5. Building a strong line in front of Allen may be the quickest path to realizing his potential
  6. I think he was owed a better way for this entire situation to have been handled. I am not a Josh Rosen hater and I think he has the ability to be a very good quarterback in this league. I think he has conducted himself as well as what can be expected in his circumstance. I hope things work out for him ( as long as it is not at the expense of the Bills, of course )
  7. “You should be terrified of me too, bi*#h” That statement and the cold, matter of fact way it was delivered, should tell you all you need to know about Tyreek Hill
  8. Less chance of sexual harassment suits....at least with Incognito gone as well
  9. Gettleman should just hold a press conference to call himself an idiot and save us all the trouble...
  10. Honestly, I couldn't think of a realistic scenario where Jones would not have been there at 17 for the Giants...but, I could be wrong. I do think Allen will end up being the best of this defensive crop. I confess, when he started to drop, I allowed myself to get a little excited at the thought he might be there at 9
  11. I couldn't wait for the Bills to draft OJ...and then I couldn't wait for them to actually use him....
  12. Agree, they have put together what they wanted at the skill positions on offense. They were bad against the pass in 2018 and, even though they did address it in the first round, I think they continue in the 2nd.
  13. Absolutely correct. Still less of a concern to me than what they do with their slot receivers and tight ends. If you can take those options away and get a push up the middle (enter Oliver), Brady is far less effective, no matter who is on the outside.
  14. Or else stop using the word, "best" - as I do not think it means what he thinks it means
  15. For me, Offensive weapons should be the focus in Rd 2 1. DK Metcalf: Highest ceiling of any receiver in this draft (This alone should warrant a 2nd round pick). His best skills match up perfectly with Allen's strengths. or 2. Hakeem Butler: May actually be the best receiver in this draft.
  16. Sorry that it rained; however, glad you and your son had a great time. The whole environment looked incredible on TV - can only imagine what it was like in person. I hope you are right and we end up with an extra 2nd or 3rd.
  17. Great breakdown, Gunner, as always. I am elated with Oliver at 9. If Metcalf is available at 40, then I would take him simply for the potential and I do believe his skill set is a great match for Allen. The only other remaining receiver I like that has the skill set and potential to match up well with Allen's strengths is Miles Boykin, whom they could probably get in the third. If Metcalf is not there at 40 than I would not be upset with whatever top DE (Not as high on Ferguson as you in the 2nd) or G (I like Ford) they have on their board.
  18. I like Harry and I think he is going to be very good (I was kind of hoping the Bills could get him in the 2nd); however, when it comes to Brady and the Patriots, it has been far easier to defend against their wideouts than Gronk (or any good TE) and their slot receivers. Brady's game has always been the quick release, 5 - 7 yard pass. I would have disliked Hockenson or Fant going to them more than Harry.
  19. I’m with you on the need for a real playmaker on offense; however, I think Oliver was the right pick at 9. I think Beane is going to try to to find that playmaker late in the 1st / early 2nd - or maybe even through a trade.
  20. Feel like he would have been there for their second pick
  21. Not much of a mind to lose....
  22. Trust me, I get it. I guess we’ll have a good idea this year if he has what it takes. I think the Bills are doing everything they can to give him a legitimate opportunity to prove he can be a franchise QB. He has to take a big step forward. Here’s hoping!
  23. Now you are just being that guy...
  24. You never hid your feelings regarding Allen. However, you always articulated your reasons for your opinions and, while passionate in your debates (a few with me) - you weren’t a d*#khead, or, as the OP put it, “that guy.” I believe that is all the OP was saying.
