  1. Are you sure, OP? If so, then that is going to upset a number of posters. I read over and over, right here on this forum, that Daboll didn't know what he was doing and that Allen was so bad, that he was unwatchable...
  2. I didn't watch the game live. I worked on building a lower deck and greenhouse at my home while monitoring the score. Then I calmly watched the replay last night. Along these lines, I remember watching the 75 Stanley Cup against the Flyers and the Sabres couldn't get anything past Bernie Parent. I stepped out of the livingroom and they scored. For the rest of the series, I listened to the TV while sitting in a chair in the hall outside the livingroom. It didn't work.
  3. The first half was a mess because of mistakes and penalties. They moved the ball just fine with the passing game. Each game is different and the pass to run ratio will change accordingly. Obviously, you want a more balanced attack. However, if they feel they need to emphasize one over the other in any particular game, I am good with that. I have complete confidence in Allen. He will make his mistakes, but, he will make some great plays too and will only continue to get better.
  4. No mea culpa here - but I like the resurrection of this. I thought it would be a tough game to win and it was. I make it a point not to post anything until the game is over and I have a chance to evaluate it in total. If I underestimated anything, it was the level of idocy people can reach when emotional. You would think nothing would surprise me after years of being on this forum; however, each game day thread, some posters rise to the challenge....
  5. I swear, there is a segment of this fan base that looks at this team, and Allen in particular, not even from a "glass half empty" perspective, but from a "glass is shattered all over the floor and beyond repair" perspective. It is beyond negative, lacks any real objectivity, and sucks the positive energy out of threads like this - and that is AFTER a big win on the road against a division opponent where Allen led a fourth quarter comeback. The kid is light years ahead of where he was this time last year, with a lot left to learn. There was far more good in his performance yesterday than bad.
  6. The objective analysis in this post is a D+ at best...
  7. They went on the road, against a division rival, for their home opener, and things didn't exactly go their way that entire first half. They persevered and Allen led a forth quarter comeback. This was going to be a tough game to win and they won. Good teams find a way to win and the Bills did that today. Enjoy it. IMHO, if you think Allen was the same as he was early last year before the injury, then you are seeing what you want to see. Not even close to the same.
  8. Antonio Brown doesn't have the skills to put together a video like that, nor the intellect to conceptualize a video like that.
  9. Yep. My guess is he will be completely bald by the time he reaches puberty...
  10. I feel for the mods on this board. Anti-Allen posters are like cyber versions of cockroaches, you just can't kill them off. They just keep coming back under new screen names over...and over...and over again... There must be at least three of them in this thread.
  11. I did see him come off the field after a play with, what looked to be some kind of injury. Didn't appear too serious at the time; however, you never know.
  12. Overreact much?
  13. I would prefer Amal over George...
  14. Hauschka wants to "help" Carli Lloyd? Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
  15. If you go back and watch Rosen's college games, those bad habits were always there. He was fortunate to have good talent around him most of his college career. However, in those games where he received any kind of consistent defensive pressure, or when his offensive line didn't play very well, those bad habits were very evident - bad decisions, bad throws, etc. I still think Rosen has the physical ability to be a good NFL QB. I just don't know if he has what it takes, mentally. I am not talking about intelligence. I'm talking about the ability to honestly self-evaluate, accept constructive criticism, and truly understand the importance of his demeanor and attitude at this stage of his career and in a position on the team that inherently comes with leadership responsibilities.
  16. I think NFL players of past generations really had no idea of the possible CTE issues. However, there isn't a player on the field today (or even over the last 10 years or so) that is not aware of the potential long term health issues - and not just CTE.
  17. My guess is that he is far less concerned about it than you. Actually, I think everyone is probably less concerned about it than you. BTW, I hope your ability to relax isn't really tied to what Josh Allen learns or doesn't learn. Cheers
  18. I love that you say he was showing growth throughout training camp and the preseason; however, you are reacting to not seeing any growth. Which is it? Or did, as I suspect, one throw in his third preseason game erase everything and convince you he hasn't grown. If so, then that is what you WANT to see.
  19. Or perhaps you should try not overreacting to a single throw... Amen, brother...
  20. He didn't "lob up a goose egg." It wasn't a bad throw and it was actually accurate. He saw his receiver breaking toward the middle and never saw the linebacker dropping back. Generally speaking, you do not want your QB to throw back toward the middle when he is scrambling outside the pocket and off balance. However, I have watched most QBs in this league make the exact same kind of throw. Sometimes they work, most times they don't. Not the best decision; but, IMO, the hyperbole in the reactions to that throw on this board are ridiculous.
  21. Right. Allen threw only 7 passes in the half, with 5 of them in obvious passing downs. The offense in the first half was clearly about the running game. I had no problem with his accuracy and he made one bad decision that should have ended in an interception. It happens. Allen wasn't great; however, he certainly wasn't awful.
  22. It is a place where the best and worst of humanity can be found...
  23. That is true; however, I don't go on the Lion's site to tell their fans that I think their team is average...
