  1. Now you have gone and done it: Comparing Josh Allen to Tom Brady. That won't go unpunished...
  2. It does make for compelling reading, outside of posts like this...
  3. And, yet, the hole was there. Blame Gore, not Daboll.
  4. I'm not sure what play Daboll should have called on that safety. They were on their own goal line. The hole was there and Gore didn't hit it. 100% on Gore and it led to a 10 point swing.
  5. You are right. For some reason, Gore decided to shift left rather than running straight ahead through the hole. It is pretty clear on the replay.
  6. You are arguing two different things. It is a statistical fact that the Bills were -3 in turnovers, and that is what the poster was saying that you originally responded to. The impact of the turnovers is a separate argument. Of course, if the Jets were able to lateral that ball back and forth all the way down the field, it might have been a different outcome. It certainly has happened. So, maybe, the turnover wasn't irrelevant.
  7. Maybe the Jets were lucky they weren't getting blown out by the second quarter? Moving the ball was not a moral victory, it showed the ability of this offense to do some good things. You just have to go past a superficial analysis that focuses soley on the mistakes.
  8. Actually, 4 turnovers by the Bills and 1 turnover by the Jets makes it a -3 day for the Bills. That is how it works. You can argue the impact of the turnovers on the game; however, it was still a -3 day in turnovers for the Bills.
  9. I certainly am in the minority; however, I don't mind those "hero ball" throws now and then. It is so nice having a QB with that gunslinger mentality again. I love a QB that will take the short pass if he needs to, but, is always looking for that big play downfield. He will make some mistakes and he will make some big plays as well.
  10. If I am not mistaken, Mosley tackled Allen and, while on top of him, started pointing his finger into Allen's facemask and talking trash. Feliciano came to Allen's defense and received the penalty. Edit: My mistake. Singletary came to Allen's defense. It was the same play that Mosley was taunting Allen. However, Feliciano pancaked a Jets defender and then stood over him taunting him. Same behavior by both, Feliciano gets a penalty - Mosley does not.
  11. Good point. However, because they made a number of mistakes doesn't mean they are a bad team, either. It appeared to me that they did a fine job of cleaning up a bunch of stuff in the second half. Could it be that what we saw in the second half is the team that they are?
  12. Any good NFL coach would have the common sense to evaluate the first half on the totality of play. Try it, things will look better.
  13. Ideally, you would like to see a balance. However, there are times to be pass heavy or run heavy. Those turnovers could have happened under a completely balanced attack. IMHO, I have no problem with times where balance shifts, even drastically, if it is called for. IMHO, the game plan was fine.
  14. No, they were not. There was a LOT of good mixed in with some bad execution, bad penalties, and bad luck.
  15. We just differ here. IMO, not only was I fine with the game plan, I think it was the RIGHT game plan. They moved the ball. In the 1st half, there were turnovers that were the result of bad bounces, there were turnovers that were the result of bad execution, and there were penalties that all derailed possible scoring drives. Any of them could have happened with a more conservative game plan. They did not turn the ball over and make those same mistakes and penalties in the second half and they won the game. Why do people choose to believe what happened in the first half defines this team or the coaching, rather than what happened in the second half? The defense played great the whole game. I do not discount the turnovers or penalties on the part of the offense; however, looking past that in a more complex analysis: the offense moved the ball well all game, Allen made good decisions for the most part, was accurate with some very impressive throws, made some terrific calls at the line in reading the defense, and led them to a fourth quarter comeback. It was his twelfth game in the NFL and he has shown real improvement. IMHO, I am fine with letting him air it out when game planning for a specific opponent calls for it. I believe it did yesterday. Maybe it wasn't that we were fortunate to come away with a win as much as the Jets were fortunate we din't blow them out?
  16. Am I missing something here? It was our home opener, on the road, against a division rival, with a pretty good defense, that has played us tough over the last few years. They played well outside of some mistakes in the first half, particularly when they needed to, and WON. Why does, what should be a pretty positive day on the Monday after a big win, have such a tone of doom and gloom from so many posters?
  17. I guess that is where we differ. I give each team a brand new slate as the past has no relevance to the current team. I choose to believe they are the team of the second half until they prove me wrong (and I actually didn't have a lot of problem with the first half - outside of a few mistakes and bad penalties).
  18. I had no problem with the game plan. Maybe, just maybe, they were not so much fortunate to overcome everything that happened, as they were just the better team, played how they are capable of playing in the second half, and won the game because of it?
  19. It wasn't a loss. It was the first half of the first game. Let me ask you this - and it is an honest question: Why do you choose to believe the first half of play is who this team might be, rather than their second half of play?
  20. Maybe you are in denial that this might actually be a good team that suffered some fluke bounces and inopportune penalties that derailed possible scoring drives in that first half. Perhaps you stopped watching and missed the second half when they didn't make those mistakes? Or missed the part where they won the game?
  21. Or, it could have been a blow out if not for some lucky bounces for the Jets...
  22. Haters gonna hate...and continue to skew his performances to meet their need to be right.
