  1. Shhhhh.... you'll anger the whole "this team will never beat (fill in the blank) if they play like they did today" crowd....
  2. I'm not sure how much the KC defense has improved; however, IMO, Minshew really had a good day. 88% completion, 275 yds, and 2 TDs. I watched his plays and he has the arm to make all of the throws, threw with anticipation, never telegraphed throws, and was accurate. But, he did throw one interception and there were two passes dropped by defenders - one a clear touchdown if the defender holds onto the ball., So, by the "Josh Allen Standard," set by a number of posters on this forum, Minshew actually had an overall bad day. Too bad, I thought he actually looked like he could unseat Foles....
  3. I think, given the history of the Patriots, those are all legitimate questions and should be answered. However, as much as I despise the Patriots, I still want those answers before making any assumptions.
  4. I'm not sure you understand the concept of an analogy, as the one you provided doesn't even come close to representing my "logic.". You stated what Brown did (which is just an assumption on your part as I haven't seen any evidence) would become a template for othe players. I stated my belief is that it would be a very small percentage of players would actually do something like that. I never said the ones that do should not be punished. A more accurate analogy of my logic would be to say because someone got away with murder, people who have no propensity to act in that way would not start using what he or she did as a template to commit murder and get away with it.
  5. I would hope the pool of players that have such little respect for themselves, others, and the game to intentionally do something like that is small.
  6. And when you go to tailgate, remember to leave the gun, but, you can take the cannoli...
  7. I believe a team can be successful without a 300 yard per game passer if they have an ELITE defense and a strong running game. Russell Wilson is a good example: In Russell Wilson's first four seasons, he had an elite defense and strong running game. The defense finished 1st in pts against 4 times and 3rd once. During that period, Wilson played in 80 regular season games and passed for over 300 yards 7 times (8% of the games). He played in 12 post season games, including 2 Super Bowls and passed for over 300 yards twice(17% of the games) (both lossess). In his last two seasons, the defense fell out of the top ten in points against and he didn't have as strong of a running game. During that time, he played in 32 games and passed for over 300 yards 4 times (12% of the games). He played in only one playoff game for those two years. So, overall, Wilson has played in 125 NFL games and has passed for over 300 yds in 13 of them (10% of his games). When he had a top defense in points against, he was going deep in the playoffs (12 playoff games in 5 seasons). When the defense and running game slipped, 1 playoff game in two seasons.
  8. A good rule of thumb might be for you to have your parents review your posts before you hit "submit."
  9. Absolutely correct. Eli Manning will be in the HOF.
  10. Damn funny stuff!! Mostly because it resonates as a fan. Seems I have shared those same type of sentiments about my team on occasion over the years. I truly hope we are turning the corner now
  11. Summary of the article: Tommy is grossed out by putting his hands under the center's sweaty a$$, so, he makes his center put a towel down his pants. Then Tommy takes the towel home and puts it with the rest of his a$$ sweat towel collection in his secret room in the basement... Edit: That last part might not have actually been in the article.
  12. Love what this team is doing in so many different areas.
  13. You can do the research for yourself. There are plenty of receivers throughout the history of the NFL that have risen above the talent level surrounding them. I have always been a fan of Jones and never posted any real criticisms of him, other than saying, in this thread, he has not consistently played at the level I believe he is capable of, and certainly not at the level you would expect of the 37th overall pick in the draft. It's just my opinion. If you believe otherwise, fine.
  14. I responded to your post, not because I thought you had valid points, but because it was a post in response to something I had written. While I do think you make some valid points, I also think you tend to see what you want to see. He didn't have a bad day overall. He completed 65% of his passes and had at least 5 other passes that should have or could have been completions. He moved the ball well all day against a pretty good defense. He was poised in the pocket, made good defensive reads at the line, was accurate on most of his throws, and made good decisions on most of his plays. Not one of the four turnovers was a result of him trying to do too much, making a poor decision, or just making a poor play. He led the team on two 80+ yard drives in the fourth quarter, on the road, to win the game. All in his 12th NFL game. Was he perfect? No. Does he have room to grow? Absolutely. But to say he had an overall bad day is to nitpick plays to an absurd degree. I don't think anyone has a problem with legitimate, reasonable criticism of Allen; however There is a portion of this fanbase that wants to hold Allen to a standard they wouldn't hold any other QB. Go watch every other game this past weekend and you will find a number of plays on the part of every QB that is inaccurate, a poor decision, a near turnover, an actual turnover, etc. We can agree to disagree.
  15. Your analyses and my responses in red: -the first half side arm throw to Zay out to the right that was no where near on target. So disingenuous. Allen threw this ball away while on the run from defensive pressure. -the first half deep ball to Zay down the left side line that landed 10 yards over his head. Wow. A ball that was 50 yards in the air and he missed Jones -the miss short left to Beasley on the drive with the botched snap. The only miss to Beasley on that drive was a tipped pass at the line. Again, so disingenuous. -the miss to Knox on the cross in the 3rd where he got spun around 180 degrees because the ball was so far behind him. Such hyperbole. A little behind but catchable (See photo below) -the negated turnover in the 3rd Ill advised throw -the should-have-been-a-turnover drop by the Jets DB down the right sideline in the 3rd Ill advised throw Ill advised throw -the under throw in the endzone that would have been a pick had Mosley just turned around instead of going for the break up Mosley barely got a blind hand out or it would have been a touchdown - again on a throw that travelled over 45 yards in the air. Seriously? Your dislike for Allen is constantly in display in your posts with your constant innacuracies and hyperbole. You will say anything to prove yourself right. In my post, I stated you might find a handful of plays I would consider bad plays on Allen's part. Your response is to list plays where you completely mischaracterize what actually happened - and you still couldn't come up with more than a handful of legitimately bad plays. What a joke.
  16. Apparently, there is a now a term that embodies the national narrative and all of the superficial analyses out there regarding JA: "The Josh Allen experience"
  17. A collection of evidence of how a perception can take on a life of its own...
  18. Right. And it it is clearly apparent there was a national narrative about Josh Allen that many people will cling to until the bitter end - either because they are too lazy to sit down and watch tape or because they just want to be right...
  19. Thanks for the effort to put these in one place. Don't mean anything, but, they have some entertainment value - usually in the realm of people not having a clue about this team. One of my favorites: "If you liked the Tim Tebow experience, you’ll love what’s going on in Buffalo. Josh Allen threw two picks and fumbled twice yesterday. He also won the game."
  20. Good post. I have analyzed a lot of victim and offender behaviors in sexual assault over the years. There are so many victims that behave in ways that are counterintuitive to most people and most sexual assaults actually go unreported. Most allegations are legitimate; however, some are not (most reputable studies put the number of false allegations at anywhere from 2%-10%). People love to make snap decisions; however, each case needs to be evaluated on its own, in totality, and due process needs to always be followed.
  21. That's too bad. I Never like to see any player's career derailed, for any length of time, because of injury.
