  1. I don't know if he is the most exciting player in the NFL; however, I love the way he plays the game - and I am excited about the potential of this team if he continues to build on the progress he has shown over the first two games of the season. He has a lot of room for improvement (of course) after only 13 NFL games; however, it is clear how much better he has gotten in such a short time. Which is a pretty good indicator of his future potenial. He has only played two games this season; but, the results are encouraging. Just for fun, I thought I would gather some numbers just to get a summary of what the offense has done so far: Two games. In spite of the common perception that they played two of the worse teams in the NFL, Allen and the offense have faced one good defensive team and one bad defensive team. The Jets have the 6th ranked defense from a DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average) perspective, while the Giants have the 31st. While there is so much room for growth, I see a lot of good signs. Go Bills!
  2. No, you were being condescending, not simply asking for a clarification.
  3. Rationalization can be a wonderful thing sometimes...
  4. Well, hopefully your son found a role model somewhere...
  5. It is a sad commentary that you choose what helps your team win over any moral standard of conduct. Well, at least your a fan of the right team.
  6. Absolutely correct. Just another false narrative... The really good coaches understand when the situation calls for an aggressive call and when it doesn't. This one didn't...
  7. I just want to know if marrying Tom makes her a lesbian?
  8. Shhhh.... There are people still clinging to the belief that this front office doesn't know what they are doing and like to use trading Dareus away as Exhibit A... It was pretty clear what he was saying and just as clear that he was expressing an opinion. C'mon try to understand a simple post, you can do it if you try, I think.
  9. I went back and looked at every target to Jones in the first two games. I don't have a problem with him dropping passes as the ones he didn't catch were either uncatchable or would have been difficult catches - so, I agree with you on that point. Here are the targets to Jones through the first 2 weeks: What I can't figure out is why there appears to be no chemistry between Allen and Jones (the timing between them always seems to be off) even though this is their second year together, yet, Allen seems to have it with Beasley and Brown? Hopefully it gets better!
  10. I love this narrative. Josh Allen doesn't face the othe team's offense. After 2 weeks, the Jets DVOA defensive ranking is 6th and the Giants are at 31. For the record, that is one bad defense and one top 10 defense. Not two of the worst in the league.
  11. They struggled to move the ball in their previous possession, things got a bit heated between the two teams, and then they dodged a bullet on the long punt return. I was fine with taking a knee with a two touchdown lead and getting the ball first in the second half. I wonder how many posters calling for them to try to score again before halftime would have been on this forum questioning the decision if it resulted in a turnover and a score going the other way?
  12. I can see the NFL's perspective on not wanting Brady to be hit, as I was raised to believe you should never hit a woman....
  13. No, I expect a proportionate success rate that we see from Brown and Beasley. He may get less targets; however, his production should be consistently relative.
  14. You mean QBs like Allen don't get the same protection? Hard to believe....
  15. Over his last 3 NFL games, Allen has completed 64.5% (60-93) of his passes, for 731 yds (244 yds per game), and totalled 9 TDs (5 passing and 4 rushing). If he can continue that kind of production on a consistent basis over a career, this team will be successful for a long time.
  16. How many Qbs have, or could, beat a Brady led Pats team twice in a season? They are a team that has been led by a HOF coach and HOF QB and have rarely lost to any QB/team twice in a season. I hate them; however, there is a reason they have been as successful as they have been. Not exactly the litmus test for whether or not Allen is our franchise QB. If he continues playing the way he has since the final Miami game last year, he will be our franchise QB.
  17. They went out and got two veterans to improve the WR position on the team, which tells you what they thought of the position last year. Again, this is Jone's third year in the NFL and his second with Allen. If he is going to be a wide receiver of the future for this team, then his future needs to start now. I like Zay and hope he turns into what we want him to be. However, to say Brown and Beasley are the now and Zay is the future - as if he is some rookie that shouldn't be held to the standard of a what you might expect from a starting NFL wide receiver in his 3rd year is nonsensical.
  18. Right. Actually, after two weeks, the Jets defense has a DVOA ranking of 6th (6th passing, 11th rushing). Not exactly in the "completely suck" category.
  19. What I find interesting is that those same pundits do not qualify their statements about Lamar Jackson and the Ravens who have played, statistically, the two worst defenses in the NFL. - or really making those same qualifying statements about many other QBs/teams. The Bills just need to continue winning and those things will probably change.
  20. Zay is in his 3rd year. His future is now. He had a catch rate of 35% his rookie year, 55% last year, and 42% so far this year - for a career rate of 47%. His 42% this year is on the 3rd most targets behind Brown and Beasley. For some reason, Brown has a 78% catch rate and Beasley has a 69% catch rate. I like Zay. I think he is a good blocking WR and I do think he has the talent to be a good receiver. Yet, for some reason he doesn't show up as a reciever very often - and certainly not consistently. I honestly do not know why there seems to be such a disconnect between Allen and Jones, particularly since they have been together for over a year, but, there is. It is really puzzling when you consider Allen doesn't seem to have that same disconnect with Brown and Beasley, who Allen has been throwing to for a little over 3 months.
  21. Not sure why you are lecturing me about what a receiver is supposed to do. I never said anything about Zay's route or the throw. As a matter of fact I gave a thumbs up support of your assessment and posted a clip of the play. If you look upthread, you will see I also posted a better clip just of the route - clearly showing Zay stumbling and getting turned around. It helps to ensure you thoroughly understand a post or the poster's position before responding...surprised that someone with your experience on this board doesn't know that.
