  1. Actually, McDermott patted his hand and then the second pat sort of wandered...
  2. How many have you "slapped" to speak with such experience?
  3. You couldn't fit this in under your "haven't thrown for 300 yds in forever" thread? Here are some offensive stats going into the Cincy game (we'll see how they look updated): Per Game 9th in Yds per game 10th in pts per game 19th in passing yds per game 14th in yds per attampt 9th in rushing yds per game 11th in avg yds per rush 6th in total 1st downs per game 14th in 3rd down conversions https://www.footballdb.com/stats/teamstat.html?group=O&cat=T 3rd in number of TD drives of +70 yds https://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/drive_finder.cgi Per Drive 22 Drives 28th in starting Line of Scrimmage per drive 9th in starting Line of Scrimmage after Kick Off 18th in plays per drive 13th in yds per drive 13th in pts per drive 10th in TDs per drive 4th in TD/FG 1st Pts per Red Zone trip 1st in TDs per Red Zone trip 9th in Drive Success Rate (percentage of down series that result in a first down or touchdown) https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/drivestatsoff/2019 What negative aspect of this team is headlining your next thread? I'm on the edge of my seat...no, really....
  4. Yeah, I get it. I went back and watched those quarters again and there is enough blame to go around. The contrast in play and production between the 3rd quarter in each game and the rest of the game is troubling. I'm not sure what the problem is.
  5. Yeah, I know, but the point is, he is successful on many more of those kinds of plays than not. As far as Knox being open. If you watch the clip again, especially the second view from behind Allen, you will see Knox with his back turned and not even into his break yet as Allen is getting hit. Not sure if Allen could have gotten that ball out to where Knox was breaking to.
  6. Is there a "Roughing the passer into a coma" penalty?
  7. He really is all of this and exactly the kind of QB I have wanted. That really was a bad interception today; however, it is something that is just going to happen from time to time because of the way he plays. I don't like plays like the interception anymore than anyone else; however, if you go through the games, you will find 3-4 plays every game where he is extending plays and making throws downfield or over the middle while on the run, off balance, with a defender all over him, etc. People are fine when he completes those "ill advised" throws. Here he makes a throw on the run, off balance, 25 yards downfield, over one defender and in front of another to Brown: Here he stands in the pocket, with a blitzer coming, waits for Beasley, and throws, as he is getting hit, across his body: Either of these plays could have turned out badly and people would have called them "bad throws," "mental mistakes," etc. I see a tough, fierce competitor, who, while learning to make the safer decision when he should, is still always looking for the bigger play - and understands he has the talent to make those plays. Most of the time.. I don't want him to ever lose that, although I do want him to continue to get better at knowing when not to pull that trigger.
  8. It really is funny how a national narrative / perspective on a player can establish such deep roots that, no matter what the actual evidence may show, the player seems to be constantly judged by that narrative / perspective. We know what it is with Allen. In Mayfield's case, it has almost been the opposite: Annointed as a QB who will lead the Browns to the SB, even though, in games against good defenses, he has struggled.
  9. The same thing they say about him when he completes 65% of his passes for 250 yds, and leads game winning drives: Raw and wildly innacurate...
  10. Do you mean this one?
  11. Please explain to us how what happened in the past is relevant to this year's team? And while you seem to take such joy in your prognostication, the truth is this: You don't have a clue how the game will turn out and this is nothing more than a LAMP thread.
  12. Here is a breakdown of Allen and the offense by quarter. There really is a drastic decrease in production in the 3rd quarter - 73 Net Yards for the season....
  13. Honestly, I don't spend much time on here after a game. I remarked to a poster earlier that you would think this team is 0-3 with the amount of posts highlighting anything negative in the game today or their season so far.
  14. Not as lame as their play...
  15. Against the Jets he had two drives. One started at the 2 and Gore was stoped in the endzone for a safety. The other was a 50 yard drive and a field goal. Against the Giants, he had three drives filled with really bad offensive line play and offensive penalties. Today he had three drives, the 1st he didn't attempt a pass and the other two he literally had very little time to throw and his receivers were getting absolutely no separation. I agree, they have struggled in the third all three games. I just don't think a lot of it was on Allen.
  16. Yep. He threw for one 300 yard game that year, including the playoffs, and averaged 209 yds a game. Hmmmm....
  17. I'm not sure why you are putting this all on Allen. If you watched the games, you will see one constant in those periods of struggle: Pressure. Today, in particular, the Bengals applied pressure throughout the game, but, the offensive line really struggled in the third. In addition, his receivers struggled to gain separation today, especially his main targets of Brown and Beasley
  18. What the hell is wrong with some people?
  19. ....and Russell Wilson has 12 in 128 games
  20. Christ, you would think this team was 0-3 by some of these postings...
  21. He already makes far, far more good plays than ones resulting from mental mistakes or risky decisions. He will only get better. I just feel there is a segment of this fan base that has to overanalyze every single play he makes - and seem to hold him to a different standard than other QBs. He is going to be really good for this team for a long time
  22. Allen seems to be much better on impromtu runs, rather than designed runs. Perhaps because he is reacting much more instinctually - which is more of strength?
  23. Right. People should ask Russell Wilson and the Seahawks how easy it was to beat Cincy at home in week one when they escaped with a one point, come from behind win...
  24. What hurts is the cells in my brain atrophying as I read your posts. I never thought one poster could bring the collective IQ of this forum down by 50 points - but, there you are....
  25. Except for all the plays when he wasn't...
