1st quarter of the season is over...thoughts

Yep. If Allen is back and the defense continues to play as they have, I can see them going 4-0 over the next quarter -
1st quarter of the season is over...thoughts
billsfan1959 replied to Dopey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been away from all forms of communication since the beginning of the season and just able to read posts for the first time today. So, judging by what I see on this board, I am assuming the Bills are 0-4 and Josh Allen is a bust. Is that correct? -
For the love of God! Is this what this forum is going to be all week?

13-0, 16-0, whatever the score

Actually, I was thinking the same thing and texted it to my son a number of times during the game. As bad as Allen played in the first half, I thought he would lead them to a win. I still believe he would have done so had he not been taken out of the game with a cheap shot. -
Have You Started To Lose Faith in Josh Allen?

Perhaps SDS could look into creating a virtual safe space for them to go to in times like these... Shouldn't you be getting ready to catch the bus to school right about now? -
Have You Started To Lose Faith in Josh Allen?
billsfan1959 replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm losing faith that a small segment of this fan base will ever be able to analyze Josh Allen in a rational, objective, non-biased way. I'm losing even more faith in the belief they will stop feeling the need to post the same thought over and over, and over, and over, and over, and over.... -
Yeah, I'm so tired of it
-
There are actually a small percentage of Bills fans that believe this. It just seems like more because those of you that do believe it have to post it over, and over, and over...ad nauseum.... Edit: I realized you are not even a Bills fan...just a troll. Sorry I wasted my time.

There is a time and a place for everything. Now is not the time for this thread, You might be a decent guy; however, we don't like your team and we particularly don't like the cheap shots they have taken over the last couple of years - with the one today knocking our QB out of the game. It was unneccessary and classless. We do not really want to hear from any Pats* fans right now.

I offer no excuses and I refuse to concede a loss. You do play to win. I want them to play with the Pats* like they belong on the same field, and I do not want a moral victory - I want an actual victory. I want them to serve notice that the AFCE is not a foregone conclusion any more; I want them to serve notice that they are not a certain win on anyone's schedule anymore; and I want them to serve notice that winning in Buffalo is going to be a tough thing to do from now on. They are a young team, at their core, that is still learning how to win and how good they can be. These are the kind of games in which they truly show they are capable of taking the next step. The Pats* may be the better team at the moment; however, they are not invincible and the Bills, for the most part, actually match up favorably with them. The Bills are absolutely capable of winning this game and I believe they will. -
Somehow, that music is not what comes to mind when thinking about the term, "Mafia." Give me a crooner...

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened there. If you watch it, Allen initially looks in the direction of Brown and then starts scanning across the field. He ended up making a great play (and Brown did some good downfield blocking); however, Brown had 8-10 yards of cushion from the DB. Allen had to be looking at Brown (at the top of the screen), because neither of the other two receivers on that side (one running a deep corner and the othe running a 7 yd out) were even close to being in a position to throw to when Allen looked that way. Maybe a miscommunication? IDK.

I don't disagree. I think we match up better with them in the passing game than people realize and their running game has not been good this year - that is why I believe the Bills will win this game. In general, however, the short passing game has been the bread and butter of Brady's career - and he has been very good at it.
-
I am not sure how anything I wrote could be misconstrued as a certain win. However, fair enough. To be clear, this is what I believe: The Pats* are the better team at this moment, yet, the Bills match up better with them than people think. If the two teams played a fundamentally sound, mistake free (no critical mistakes - or the mistakes balance out on both sides) football game, it is a playoff caliber game and the Bills play with them - with the edge of playing at home. So, I believe it will be what it should be, a tough, close game between good teams. Again, with the caveat that they don't beat themselves, I believe the Bills will win, outright, at home.

I think having a receiver with a similar skill set is helpful. However, aside from skill, what has made players like Edleman, Amendola, and Welker so productive in NE is Brady's release time and accuracy in the short game. He gets the ball out so quickly and placement is so accurate, it is almost impossible to defend. Brady consistently hits his receivers underneath with even the slightest separation, and also puts the ball in a location that, far more often than not, allows the receiver the potential for YAC. It has always been his strength.

For me, I think (1) they are capable of winning and (2) they will win. They are different; however, I believe them both. Also, "they will win" and "overwhelming favorites" are two very different stances. I believe the former, but, do not believe the latter. And, I do not believe I have read a single post where anyone, other than in jest, suggested the Bills should be an overwhelming favorite.
-
I certainly will not be surprised if the Patriots win; however, I also will not be surprised if the Bills win. IMO, they actually have a good team - a playoff caliber team if they do not beat themselves. Each fan can choose to approach this game how he or she chooses. For me, I believe they will win Sunday, and it seems I have done nothing on this board, this week, other than defend my belief that this team is absolutely capable of beating the Pats*. I do believe it and I feel it is an objective view based on what I see in this team. But, I also have no problem accepting a loss from a team that is still growing, but headed in the right direction - and playing the defending SB Champions. The world never ends on any loss and the season only ends on that loss that eliminates them from the playoffs.

How sad your life must be. Good luck with that...

I won't concede anything until the game is over. It's ok if there are those of us who actually think the Bills have a pretty good team. The world won't end Actually there is. If you don't believe the Bills can win, then don't watch.
