  1. ^This. I barely have enough time to check in on this site - much less another team's site.
  2. I'm not disagreeing with you on the state of the play in the league this year and you are right, if the offense improves over the course of the year, there is a real shot to go deep into the playoffs because the league is so week. I also believe if the offense can eliminate the critical mistakes (turnovers, penalties and drops that kill scoring chances, etc), then this team would be a legitimate top 10 team in any year.
  3. He may have cleaned his act up; however, when he first started posting on this site, it certainly had a trolling feel to it - so much so that I pretty much started ignoring him and did not read too many of his subsequent posts. I trust you are right in your assessment of him now or you would have banned him.
  4. I think this team is a top 6 team. Certainly they are on the defensive side of the ball. On the offensive side, they have moved the ball against everyone they have played, including two really good defenses in NE and TENN. What they need to eliminate are the mistakes (turnovers and penalties). If they can do that, then they absolutely can play with any team in the league. They had a shot at beating NE with their worst offensive performance of the year. The offense has a a lot of new pices to it and it will only get better.
  5. I appreciate your analysis and I wish this is the type of discussion we had more of on this site. I'm not sure there is any right or wrong on this play either from the perspective of the players themselves or our perspectives, as fans, in trying to assess what happened. That's the fascinating aspect of plays with so many variables involved. Thanks!
  6. I get where you are coming from; however, I have to disagree. I dobn't think he was throwing to Beasley - I think he was throwing to Yeldon and absolutely had eye contact with him. If you pause the video just as the ball is coming out of Allen's hand, you will see Yeldon is still moving across the field and the DB is behind him. Yeldon stops. The DB continues and makes the interception. If the DB could continue and make the interception, then I have to believe Yeldon coyuld have continued and made the catch. I absolutely do not see anything wrong with making this throw.
  7. I just posted this in another thread. I added the All 22 view of the interception below. I still believe he is throwing to Yeldon. When he first takes the snap he first looks to Beasley and then over to Yeldon. He then scrambles to avoid a sack, looks to Beasley again and then to Yeldon. When the ball leaves Allen's hand, the DB is almost directly behind Yeldon. If Yeldon continues running, he almost certainly would have stayed in front of the DB and be in position to make the catch. I first blamed Yeldon; however, I will change my mind and put the blame on neither. As I said in another post, you have WRs trying to adjust to a QB trying to evade a sack, and a QB trying to react to the WR's adjustments. Not to mention, it involved a QB and 3 WRs who have played 5 total NFL games together. I don't think it was an ill advised pass. Allen had stopped and set up. He was interpreting the adjustment of his WR and put the ball where he thought that WR would be.

  9. They weren't that good before they lost him
  10. Actually, that was my first thought when I read the thread title..
  11. It's NFL news, it's a Bye Week, and, honestly, the thought of Gronk as an analyst is a target rich environment for comedic gold from some of our more witty posters...
  12. Well... That was harsh...
  13. You are not alone. There is no doubt that there is a lot of actual and potential talent on that team. I am not going to draw too many coclusions from Baker Mayfield's play at this point in his career, any more than I would with Allen. I still think both are going to be good QBs. It is odd, sometimes, how the individual dynamics of a team disrupt their ability to function as a team, and to realize their potential.
  14. That is not exactly true. There were plenty of draft prognosticators that stated he had the talent to be a first or second day pick; however, character issues would probably drop his stock. ESPN: 1. D'haquille Williams, Auburn Tigers Not nearly as raw a route runner as you might expect in his first SEC season coming out of junior college, Williams was moved around and was able to win with strong hands and a big frame he uses to keep defenders away from the ball. If he cleans up the drops, there's first-round potential. WalterFootball: 4/26/16: Prior to the season, we reported that sources had said that they had significant character and off-the-field concerns with Williams, but likened him as a player to Anquan Boldin. Those issues came to a head when Williams was kicked off Auburn's football team after Week 5 of the season... Williams has the talent to be a second-day draft pick, but going undrafted because of character concerns is a real possibility. There were other evaluations that were similar to those above and there were some evaluations that were more harsh regarding his talent; however, to say he wasn't perceived to be particularly talented and wasn't shunned for character issues is simply not true. I don't believe he ever did. I believe one of knocks on him coming out of college was his slow 40 time.
  15. Absolutely spot on. Wilson has grown into an upper echelon QB; however, he was a QB averaging 195 - 220 YPG during their SB years. Interestingly enough, so many fans want to equate an elite QB with 300 YD passing games, yet in his 8 full seasons, Wilson averaged more than 250 YPG once, and averaged about one 300 YD game per season. Also, as his average per game has gone up, his playoff appearances have gone down. Wilson did not start out as an elite QB, yet, he was given that reputation, IMO, before he earned it.
  16. Shocked you didn't know it was already a thread
  17. Well, I guess it is a little concerning when the hang time on the Jet Sweep exchange is greater than the hangtime on our punts...
  18. Oh, I don't know, say a sack and a fumble, or an interception return, that resulted in points for Tennessee. Either one of those could have hurt - and this board would have been in a complete meltdown if Allen turned it over and it resulted in any kind of points. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I typically am one that believes in being aggressive in those situations, and I wouldn't have been upset if they had tried to take some shots downfield. However, everything I know about that particular situation, as I detailed in a previous post, makes me feel they made the right decision.
  19. He always talks s*** and does things like this
  20. Agreed. I kind of like the take no s*** attitude of this team.
  21. Well, in Lewan's defense, that whole Ritchie wanting to cut off his dead father's head in order to research what was inside thing might have been enough for me to not want him mingling with my wedding guests..
  22. I thought it was explained pretty well above. It was a close game, Tennessee has a very good defense and it was difficult to move the ball for large chunks of yardage, the Bills game plan was a short passing game and had NOT taken any downfield shots at all, Allen has had turnover issues in every game this year and was coming off a 4 turnover performance - pretty much on plays he was trying to go downfield, they were getting the ball first in the 2nd half, and they had just dodged a score and an emotional lift on the part of the Titans - and their defense was playing lights out. IMO, it was not the time to try to take shots down the field.
  23. Good for him; however, who knows how long it will last. It really is hard to judge QB success in the short term - much like Minshew. They look good at the moment, but it can all change quickly. The media loves to annoint players on a limited sample of play. I believe Lamar Jackson was the darling of the media after his first two games this year - and being talked about as a potential league MVP. He still may; however, he has looked pretty pedestrian over his last three starts and, all of a sudden, not talked about as much. Not to pick on Jackson - just an example.
