  1. I was skeptical with Jackson at 11 (SMH, if you have seen any of his last three games) and completely stopped when I got to Baker Mayfield at 16....
  2. He had a bad game, there is no disputing that. The poster you are responding to has some merit to his post as well. He also had some good moments in that game. It also didn't help that the WR group got as little separation as anything I remember from last year. I watched every play again on the all 22, and there were so many instances where Allen had to hold onto the ball because there was literally not one receiver with any separation, or he was scrambling because the offensive line was breaking down. Allen was bad; however, there was plenty of blame to go around on the offensive side of the ball.
  3. three yards To be fair, you can't be certain that is exactly what he said...
  4. I'm half Italian and most of the older women on that side of the family could sport a better beard than Josh if they wanted to....
  5. Thought so too - instead he played WR more like Condoleezza Rice
  6. Right - 3 drives inside the Jets 40 (2 inside the 30) with no points; 4 drives inside Cincy's 40 (2 inside the 30, 1 inside the 15) with no points; 7 drives into NE territory (4 inside the 40, 1 inside the 10, 2 inside the 25) with no points, and 4 drives inside the TENN 40 (although one was to end the game at the TENN 20) . That is 18 drives into opponents territory (15 inside the 40) in 5 games with no points. If they just got field goals on 15 of those 18 drives, that would be 45 more points and they would be averaging 27 PPG instead of 18 PPG - which would be good enough for 8th in the NFL. I know other teams have drives into opponents territory that don't end in points as well; however, I doubt many of them are averaging almost four drives a game inside their opponents 45 (3 drives PG inside the 40) with no points. I am optimistic as well. They have done more to stop themselves, from moving the ball consistently and scoring more, than opposing defenses have. I think they will come together more as a team, particularly when Williams and Singletary are fully integrated, the more they play together. If they (Allen in particular) can cut down on turnovers, play more consistent with fewer mistakes, I think they will get better at finishing those drives with some kind of points.
  7. I don't believe Daboll is waiting to unleash the full power of this offense. What we have is: An offense with 8 or 9 starters who have played 5 total NFL games together, led by a 2nd year QB with 16 total NFL games under his belt. They have played 3 defenses in the top 12 in YPG They have played 3 defenses in the top 12 in defensive DVOA They have played 2 teams in the top 6 in PPG Against the other two teams, they averaged over 400 YPG, 24 first downs PG, and 24.5 PPG Overall, after five games, they are 12th in YPG Overall, after five games, they are 26th in PPG (Although, they are 7th in redzone points and 4th in redzone TDs) They actually have a pretty good offense that could be very good. They have moved the ball against every team they have played. Their problems have been consistency, turnovers, and critical mistakes (penalties, drops, etc) that end drives, particularly scoring drives. They clearly have done well once they get into the redzone; however, they have had so many drives end inside the opponents 50, but outside of scoring range. Mostly because of these issues. I won't even mention the coma the team and coaching staff seemed to slip into in the third quarter of 4 of the 5 games. If they can just correct these things, they will be a top ten offense in both yards and points.
  8. He has devolved into trolling at this point. Not worth the effort.
  9. Seriously. He doesn't even try to hide his agenda anymore....
  10. I don't think that is true at all. There may be a head scratcher here or there; however, for the most part, the play calling has been good. The problem has been consistency (Beginning with their 3rd quarter after lunch siesta they've taken in 4 of 5 games) and critical (meaning ending drives and scoring opportunities) drops, penalties, and turnovers. Cleaning that up alone will make this offense much better and lead to more points. Even with all that, and new players at a lot of positions, they are moving the ball to the tune of almost 375 YPG (12th in the NFL), and they have been almost money in the red zone. I am looking forward to the offense continuing to improve over the remainder of the season.
  11. You would think so; however they are actually 18th in Defensive DVOA. Although, that might be a little misleading because they are 3oth in rushing yards. Interestingly enough, Seattle is in the bottom 10 in defensive DVOA. I would not have thought that.
  12. And, in other news, the earth is still round...
  13. No, you were cherry picking a play to show that Allen wasn't that productive if you eliminate that play. Do you subtract all the YAC on all other completions as well? At least have the intellectual honesty to admit what you are doing.
  14. See, this is what most of us are talking about. The gameplan against a good defense was to go with the short passing game. There was not one attempt over 20 yds in the entire game. Allen did what he was asked to do. He completed over 70 % of his passes and moved the ball - scoring two touchdowns against a team that is 4th in points against.. He had one mistake, that, if you watch the play, was clearly as much on Yeldon as on Allen. Yet, your interpretation of it is negative. #agenda
  15. You, admittedly, didn't watch the game. Why don't you actually watch it before you engage in any sort of analysis of his game? Because you are a one trick pony. If we removed all of your posts that were some variation of "Allen sucks," then you would probably have a total of 6 posts.
  16. That's funny, because I have responded to 3-4 of your other posts in this thread. Are you drunk as well?
  17. And Allen is part of the team, correct? Why do you continue to whine about something that isn't true?
  18. There are very few posters who feel this way. The vast majority of us are fine with criticisms because, heaven knows, there are enough things to criticise in a young QB. There have also been a lot of improvements in his game and he has done a lot of good things as well. Just a little balance instead of always dwelling on the negative
  19. That is more of an analogy than a metaphor and I got it the first time you used it. What's nonsensical is criticizing him for mistakes / bad plays (which is fine); however, giving him no credit for the big plays he has made when he needed them. Because he wouldn't need to make the big plays if he didn't make the mistakes? Really, is it that difficult to see the good and the bad?
  20. Heaven knows he can't have struggles and still contribute in big ways. So, yeah, let's discount the fact that he led the team on touchdown drives in the fourth quarter, when his team needed them in 3 of the 5 games this year, because he may have been involved in some turnovers that led to points for the other team or ended scoring chances for his team. Nonsensical.
  21. Those are not mutually exclusive, so, he could be both
  22. Maybe, Maybe not. I do find it quite interesting that he showed up here the day after the 2017 draft ended as a Chief's fan... Coincidence? And he spent a considerable amount of time telling us how awful Allen was after he was drafted. So, even though I have read from you and Hapless (both posters I respect) that he now engages in substantive discussions, he definitely started out trolling this board. I have my thoughts about him, which I have expressed, and I choose not to respond to him on this board for reasons I have previously stated. Not asking anything of anyone else - just giving my opinion.
  23. Kind of figured he was Bills fan who jumped ship - which means not really a true fan at all. If true, troll or not, he doesn't really need to be on this site. Sorry; however, that's how I feel. If you abandon this team and begin rooting for another team, then don't come back on this board. Read some posts that said he was formerly jeffsmagic. It wouldn't surprise me.
  24. This oversimplifies his immense contributions to the team's wins You should find a more reliable source...
