Allen isn't on the BOTTOM of the list - I stopped the list at 15 for 20+ completions and 17 on 40+ completions. Allen is in the middle of the pack, not the bottom. You do know there are 32 teams in the NFL. The point is, Allen isn't abysmal and there isn't a significant amount of difference in most of the percentages.

It is silly. The deep pass makes up such a small percentage of passes. The way you and some other posters go on, it's as if Allen is abysmall at getting the ball down field. Let's look at the actual small percentage of attempts that comprise 40+ completions - and where Allen stands on both 20+ and 40+: Percentage of pass attempts that are completions of 20+ yards: (With minimum of 150 attempts) 1. Patrick Mahomes 12.86 2. Matthew Stafford 12.84 3. Russell Wilson 12.60 4. Aaron Rodgers 12.4 5. Tom Brady 12.28 6. Dak Prescott 11.76 7. Lamar Jackson 11.62 8. Gardner Minshew 11.50 9. Jimmy Garoppolo 11.37 10. Baker Mayfield 11.11 11. Jameis Winston 10.90 12. Philip Rivers 10.50 13. Deshaun Watson10.21 14. Marcus Mariota 10.06 15. Josh Allen 10.05 Percentage of pass attempts that are completions of 40+ yards: (With minimum of 150 attempts) 1.Patrick Mahomes .041 2. Marcus Mariota .037 3. Kirk Cousins .031 4. Dak Prescott .029 5. Aaron Rodgers .028 6. Russell Wilson .026 7. Deshaun Watson .025 8. Lamar Jackson .023 9. Jameis Winston .022 10. Joe Flacco .021 11. Carson Wentz .020 12. Baker Mayfield .020 13. Kyler Murray .019 14. Matthew Stafford .018 15. Andy Dalton .017 16. Daniel Jones .017 17. Josh Allen .015

He has really improved his short passing game, which is primarily responsible for his higher completion percentage and more consistent drive yaradge success - and his strength is the 20-25 yard range. That's 99.9% of the passing game for almost every QB (if not every QB). Would it be nice to hit some of those long passes? Of course. However, this fixation on the deep pass is getting a little silly.

James Lofton Calls Out Knox on Drop
billsfan1959 replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How can you be so consistently wrong? Right. He actually came up to his feet and looked down... -
Right. The lack of point production is a consequence of drives that are stalling out between the opponent's 40 and 20 yard lines. 18 drives in the first 6 games that ended in that range without scoring ANY points. Most of those drives ended because of mistakes, penalties, or turnovers - and, while Allen has his share of blame for bad throws and turnovers so far, very few of those 18 potential scoring drives actually ended in no points because of Allen. Even yesterday, the field goal drives could have gone further and potentially ended in touchdown drives had it not been for dropped passes and penalties. It will come.

McDermott in early COY discussion
billsfan1959 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of what is happening at the moment, don't you think?. They are 5-1 - but we all need to stop and express all of our concerns and fears, no matter how silly they may be, because, well, you know - Allen... -

billsfan1959 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nonsense. Except, maybe, by fans like you. -
1. If you don't see improvement in Allen's game, then you don't want to see it. 2. This fascination with 300 yard games as a benchmark for success as a QB is one of the most superficial analyses out there of what success as a QB means 3. This is a team that won 6 games last year, with a completely new offense, a young QB in his 2nd year, still lacking all of the pieces they are looking for (as they are still building), and a team that most people picked to not even make the playoffs this year. They need better performances to get to the next level? Shocking. 4. And, oh, by the way, almost every good team (if not all) have the majority of their wins against bad teams. Can we please stop with the qualifications.

McDermott in early COY discussion
billsfan1959 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have six games of a sixteen game season on which to speculate on COY - that's almost half of the season. You have 18 games of what should be a long career on which to base your speculations about Allen... Nice try -

Right, we shouldn't speculate at all about something so trivial as COY; however, it is never too early too speculate if Josh Allen will ever be even an average NFL QB, right? Haven't seen you do any of that... -
I am enjoying the season so far. It is a good team led by a young QB who has tremendously improved over the last year, and has so much more room for growth. It is an exciting time. What doesn't really feel that enjoyable anymore is coming onto this board after a win. It feels like every thread gets taken over by the same small group of posters who feel the need to tell us over and over and over how awful Josh Allen is (far beyond legitimate criticism), and that the rest of us are some how too blinded by homerism or just too stupid to get it - until the negativity, in the end, makes it somehow feel like the team lost instead of won. The second best record in the conference at almost the half-way point of the season; a young nucleus that makes their share of mistakes, but are, growing, getting better, learning how to win - and exceeding the expectations of what most people thought they would be as a team this year; a real sense of competence and stability in the coaching staff and FO; and real optimism that this is a team on the rise. It just seems to get lost, or trampled over, in so many of these threads...

Josh Allen - week SEVEN report card
billsfan1959 replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please tell us the one again about how Allen is the same as Tim Tebow... That one never gets old...really No need to follow the conversation very far. Your posts are always the same: Some variation of Josh Allen sucks -

If his ability as a quarterback was equal to your ability to objectively and accurately assess his play - he would be working in a shoe factory -

QB Grades Through Week 6 Per PFF
billsfan1959 replied to Kangaxx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The same PFF who never liked Allen coming out of college and who go out of their way to find ways to prove the are right about him - such as this piece of wisdom from a PFF article a couple of weeks ago: "Though Allen has generated a high adjusted completion percentage thus far (77.6%), that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s been accurate. Only 17 of his 163 passing attempts this season have been deemed as 100% on the mark." Their own method of generating adjusted completion percentage puts Allen near the top of the league, yet they still claim him to be innacurate. Either they are admitting their own methodology and evaluation of adjusted completion % isn't worth a s*** and, basically, meaningless, or they are just pushing an agenda. 100% on the mark? WTF -

No, 83.5% say he should be allowed to play, not that he should be on a team. -

You are a prime example with Allen. You haven’t liked him from the moment he was drafted and your posts have always reflected your bias.

Daboll's Forward Handoff: Spreading throughout the league?
billsfan1959 replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I noticed this as well - in more than one game. It seemed the ones I noticed were almost always high and to Allen's left. Not terrible, but, he still had to reach for them. -
