  1. I believe it has to be Scott Norwood. If he makes a tough, but very makeable 47 yard FG, the Bills not only win the Super Bowl, but, IMO, impacts the team in following three Super Bowls, from a psychological perspective - particularly the last two.
  2. Right. But, for the sake of argument, Allen, for the season, is 20th at 88.3. However, since the NE game, Allen has really improved his overall play (with lots of room to grow still) and, since that time, over the last 8 games, Allen is 10th in Passer Rating at 98.7.
  3. I have never said Allen hasn't had his struggles. This 300 yard obsession of yours and Billsfan1972 is ridiculous. Not only did you exagerate, you used an example completely out of context in your constant need to diminish what Allen does to fit your narrative. Over the last 8 games, among all QBs, he is 5th in total TDs, 5th in TD% per total touches, 13th in YPA, 3rd in fewest turnovers, tied for 3rd in total wins, and a 98.7 QB rating. And he is still improving And yet, here Allen and the Bills are: 1 game ahead of Mahomes and the Chiefs, tied with Rodgers and the Packers, and 1 game behind the rest that you mentioned. But, hey, keep up the crusade...
  4. Posted this in another thread. Over the last 8 games, Jackson and Allen have pretty similar stats. They are both in the top five in most TDs, TD % per total touches, and fewest turnovers. PASSING G Cmp Att Inc Cmp% Yds TD Int Rate Sk Yds Y/A AY/A Jackson 8 127 188 61 67.55 1422 15 3 109.8 11 42 7.56 8.44 Allen 8 146 235 89 62.13 1688 13 2 98.7 18 95 7.18 7.91 RUSHING Att Yds Y/A TD Fmb FL FF FR Jackson 104 739 7.11 6 5 1 0 2 Allen 62 299 4.82 5 7 1 0 3 If the Bills can keep Jackson under 6 yards per carry, this should be a good game.
  5. Anyone here would take Brees, Brady and Rodgers. They are HOF QBs. They also have pretty good records in non 300 yard games. The vast majority of 300 yard games are not by HOF QBs and the record for the last 45 300 yard games in the NFL is 21 wins and 24 losses.
  6. He has had one game this year where he attempted over 40 passes (41) and that was the Cleveland game. If you remember correctly, he led his team to the go ahead TD with 5:26 left in the game. The defense subsequently gave up an 82 yard TD drive, where they gave up plays of 13, 21, and 24 yards. Allen then, in the last 1:44 of the game, led the team from their own 25 to the Cleveland 35 for a shot at a winning FG. He didn't have a particularly good game and neither did the rest of the team. But, he didn't need 300 yds. He stepped up when they needed him to while the defense and the kicker did not. He has never been asked to throw for over 300 yds. He has been asked to lead his team to a go ahead score when behind and he has responded over and over.
  7. Allen is a dual threat and has been doing well in both areas - and improving almost every week since the NE game. Matter of fact, he has been comparable to Jackson over the same 8 game stretch: PASSING G Cmp Att Inc Cmp% Yds TD Int Rate Sk Yds Y/A AY/A Jackson 8 127 188 61 67.55 1422 15 3 109.8 11 42 7.56 8.44 Allen 8 146 235 89 62.13 1688 13 2 98.7 18 95 7.18 7.91 RUSHING Att Yds Y/A TD Fmb FL FF FR Jackson 104 739 7.11 6 5 1 0 2 Allen 62 299 4.82 5 7 1 0 3 He is getting better and will continue to get better
  8. Ahhh, those certainties in life: Death....Taxes... Bilsfan1972 screaming for 300 yard passing games....
  9. You, apparently, do not have a point. You have been going on and on and on, ad nauseum, about modern passing attacks and 300 yard games. Now, all of a sudden, less passing and more running is okay as long as they are scoring a lot of points? Which is it? Over the last three weeks, the Bills have averaged over 400 yards per game and 27.6 PPG, with 2 of those games against the 8th and 9th ranked defenses. By your latest stance you should be happy, and, therefore, end this string of ridiculous posts, no?
  10. In Jackson's last 8 games, he has rushed the ball 14 or more times 5 times, and averaged 13 rushes per game over that stretch. When he has 14-20 rushes, he is going to accumulate some yards; however, If they can keep him under 5-6 yards per rush (and keep Ingram relatively in check), then I think it will be a close game. Offensively, I am not as worried.
  11. So, let me get this straight. You are fine with the fact that Lamar Jackson is averaging 211 passing yards a game because the team is scoring 34 points a game; however; you are not fine with Josh Allen averaging 215 passing yards a game because the team is scoring 21 points a game? How does all this fit in with your modern day, throw it 40-50 times for 300 yards a game obsession? You make less and less sense with each new post....
  12. So, now we are going to disect his game winning drives to show how they are not really game winning drives? Don't you people ever tire of having to continually find new ways to show Allen really isn't a very good QB, just to prove yourselves right?
  13. He is a young QB, playing in his second year, with 9 new starters on offense. They have gotten better throughout the year and, over the last three weeks, they have averaged over 400 yards per game, and won by double digits. If you don't think Allen contributed to that as a passer, then you haven't been watching. So, it seems your argument that you "want him to play well and not need to fight for easy wins" is made at an odd time. Your other argument that "if you fall behind then you better be able to throw the ball" has been answered as well. It doesn't matter at all about the circumstances in which they fell behind in his 7 GWD - the fact is, when they fell behind, he was able to move the ball and score. And, to be honest, with a reliable kicker, the defense stopping the other team on a last minute drive, and a little better effort on a catch by a receiver, Allen would have 3 more game winning drives. He is getting better all the time and has answered your arguments. Not sure why you are continuing to make them.
  14. The point is that you have to be able to move the ball when you need to. Period. Allen's 5 fourth quarter comebacks and 7 game winning drives shows he can do that.
  15. That was really funny! Thanks for posting it.
  16. I read a good article a few years ago (tried to find it and couldn't) in which the author detailed an incredibly rapid decline in play, the last year or two of their career, for almost every great QB who played (I think post 1980). It was interesting how very few had a gradual decline. Most just "fell off a cliff," statistically speaking, in their last year or two.
  17. Not a huge fan of the QBR stat; however, Allen has steadily improved. For the season, he is ranked 23rd; however, over the last five weeks, he has ranked, 10, 15, 3, 11, and 4
  18. Buffalo is 24-21 in their last 45 games. The record of the last 45 300 yard passing games in the NFL is 21-24.
  19. And she finally tells him that Belichick fathered their children....
  20. Hopefully, in his back yard...
  21. You mean like the Cowboys #1 offense? Thank goodness Brady threw for 326 yds over Watson's 234 yds last night, or the Pats*** might have lost that game... Oh, wait....
  22. He is making progressions quicker and the strength of his game this year has been 0-20 yds from the LOS. Utilizing Foster's speed in ways like the crossing pattern he pulled up lame on in the Denver game will make this offense even better. In addition, over the last three games, Allen has been more aggressive in that 20 - 30 yard range (which I have always felt is his wheelhouse when he has time and is in rhythm) and Foster's speed opposite Brown would only open that area up even more..
  23. This. If Foster is going to make a big impact over the last four games (and into the playoffs) it will be utilizing that speed on routes, and in ways, other than the deep ball. We saw it over the last few games. I'm hoping it will increase from here forward.
