  1. Right. If we do not figure out a way to keep the vast majority of businesses, both small and big, solvent - and figure it out quickly - We will be teetering on the edge of a complete economic collapse and people are not going to have jobs to come back to.
  2. I'm not sure he is capable of finishing any thought....
  3. I am sure we can fill up as many "#PelosiBad" threads as people want to create - it is not like there is a shortage of material to use. So, feel free to contribute to any of them....
  4. Just a cursory search of the "Take Responsibility for Workers and Families Act" turns up mandates involving nothing to do with the Corona Virus. The following are some of the words (along with the number of times used) in those mandates: Race/Racial (40 times) Ethnic/Ethnicity (38 times) Minority/Minorities (258 times) Gender (26 times) Women (60 times) Disabled/Disability (42 times) Diverse/Diversity (126 times) Climate (16 times) Carbon (18 times) Emissions (46 times)
  5. Could you be any more melodramatic? You have no clue what it will be like in two weeks, or four weeks, or eight weeks. Why don't we wait and see... #wordsalad
  6. I'm not comparing it to the flu. My point was to those people who act as if the flu is nothing at all. As to this virus, I have no idea how it will end and neither does anyone else. I just don't see the usefulness of people running around predicting millions and millions of deaths
  7. Actually, 20 - 30 million people do get the flu each year. "CDC estimates that the burden of illness during the 2018–2019 season included an estimated 35.5 million people getting sick with influenza, 16.5 million people going to a health care provider for their illness, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths from influenza" https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2018-2019.html
  8. I believe he understands how a pandemic works. His point was that, as of now, there is no actual evidence it will result in "millions and millions of deaths" as you put it.
  9. Hope the Republicans hold strong. I think the Democrats come out looking bad on this one....
  10. Haahaa!!! Asking the Democrats to fix anything regarding helping the economy right now is like asking an arsonist to be in charge of a fire brigade....
  11. I wonder if the media will accuse Cuomo of peddling false hope?
  12. I don't know if they are being overstated. Italy normaly loses, on average, 1,600-1,800 people per day to all other causes (Between 7,000-8,000 per day in the US). It would be interesting to see comparison figures, by cause (i.e.; influenza, pneumonia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease).
  13. In regard to total of all other deaths versus deaths from CV?
  14. Law enforcement is always a target, in one form or another, from many segments of society
  15. If your parents "had a brother," as you say, wouldn't that would make your mother and father siblings? It's even worse than I thought; however, it does explain a few things....
  16. Well, everyone makes mistakes. Take your parents for example...
  17. I didn't vote for Trump, I don't kiss anyone's ass, and perfection doesn't exist in human beings. There is a time for political attacks and then there is a time to keep your mouth shut and be supportive. It isn't about freedom of speech, it is about the greater good. Unfortunately, people like you are too arrogant and self-absorbed to know the difference - and are only concerned with the need to prop up your own sense of self-perfection by constantly "enlightening" the uninformed masses from your perch of intellectual and moral superiority. Funny you should use any phrase with the word "clue" in it, as it is clear you don't have a clue.
  18. Whole new level of social distancing going on in the NFL...
  19. They are exactly the kind of FA signings that good teams engage in
  20. Yes, it is pathetic. There is a national and global crisis going on, the likes of which nobody has had to deal with before. There are people all over this world that have dealt with pandemics and this has overwhelmed all of them. People at the national level have been, and are trying to do everything they can to get through this in the best way possible. Instead of doing what they can to keep people calm and support efforts to get through this, people like you do all you can to sow seeds of blame and fear. It is absolutely rich that you accuse anyone of being in "lock step" in supporting their party when you and your party can't stop your hyperbole, blame, and fear mongering even in the midst of a crisis. If people aren't part of the solution, then they are part of the problem and should just STFU.
  21. Spoken like a true elitist. de Blasio is such a tool...
  22. C'mon Tibs, you can't tell me that your not used to people greeting you that way...
  23. Wrong, but thanks for playing. Throughout this thread, you have been a constant "worst case scenario" voice - it is what you do. The fact that you justify your dire predictions as just facing reality indicates just how internal your reality is, rather than based on the external world around you. You have no idea how this is going to play out, anymore than anyone else. Yet, you CHOOSE to take the default position that it will be catastrophic. Voices like yours are what lead people to panic when they don't need to, and to do idiotic things like hoarding more supplies than they need - which serves only to keep others from getting what they need and generally creating more problems. There is a way to deal with this as a serious issue without the constant hand wringing and fear mongering that does nothing more than feed the panic. Is that specific enough?
  24. Go back and read through all of your posts and then think about what you just asked me. If you still need an explanation, then there is no point in giving one...
