And there is absolutely no evidence that they will not get what they need. -

Well, in her defense, she has been a champion of women - as long as they didn't think for themselves, weren't conservative, or weren't victims of her husband's predatory behavior.... So, there's that.... -

I was responding to your typically uninformed and sarcastic statement, "I'm sure the cops sit around listening to NPR." Of course, I don't really need to point that out now, do I? -

I was a law enforcement officer for 23 years and listened to NPR plenty. Listened to and read all sides of issues as much as I could - and still do. -

You are correct on all counts. The problem is that the Republicans in the Senate should have taken this stand when they had the chance. I was all in favor of holding this thing up to do just that and I believe they would have had the majority of the support of the American people in doing so. I believe it is too late now. -

No. No, she is not. The words “thankful” and “Nancy Pelosi” should never be used in the same sentence when talking about the economy, unless it is some variation of a sentence like, “I am so thankful Nancy Pelosi has been voted out of office so she can’t damage our economy anymore.” Hate it as well. However, that stand should have been taken last week by the Republicans in the Senate. -

Normally, I would agree (there are a lot of times I think he would be better served to take the high road) - or, I guess a better way to have put it is that this should have been accomplished behind the scenes. However, as much as I dislike some of the provisions in this legislation or even if Massie may be standing on what he promised his constituency, now is not the time to take that stand - that point has passed. As you well know, there are a lot of people out here that are hurting and concerned right now, and they want to see congress do something that looks and feels helpful right now. -

Honestly, you should change your avatar to something that includes a red nose and big floppy feet to match the clownish nature of your posts. -

Well, if you are going to accuse Trump of waiting too long to respond, then you need to do the same with Cuomo and de Blasio, no? Again with the intellectual dishonesty and inconsistency. -

Last, I looked, Cuomo didn't need Trump's permission to shut down NYC. Perhaps, Cuomo and de Blasio didn't feel the threat was that serious? -

It would also be interesting to go back through and determine if the TDS cult ever looked at anything Trump has done since his election that wasn't a civilization ending crisis... -

You are a smart guy; however, this is why any attempt at a real debate with you quickly ends. You have an inability to set aside your complete hatred of Trump and have an honest discussion. -

I like a good debate, but only if you are going to be intellectually consistent. Strip away the political interpretations of what each wants and you will find the same thing: They both want to fight the virus while not sacrificing the econmony in the process. If you say anything different you are simply speaking from a perspective of what you want to believe. -

Serious question: In what way do you think it is helpful to constantly proclaim people are going to be left in the hallways to die or any of the other worst case scenario claims in your posts throughout this thread? It is an honest question. How do you think it is helpful and what actual, on the ground data in this country right now are you using to predict people are not going to be able to have a bed and a ventilator if they need it? -

I like Bill Gates and I respect him. He spends a lot of time and money on public health issues from a philanthropic perspective, which is to be respected, commended, and held up as an example; however, in no way makes him qualified to speak to this. The fact that he was completely wrong about what happened in China as a basis for his assertion is proof enough this is not his arena. -

Sorry, Bill Gates lost me the second he began by, essentially, relying on information from China, about what went on in China, as honest, accurate, and the model to replicate.... He's a hell of a businessman; however, I'm not sure when he acquired the expertise in how to handle a medical emergency. Of course, Bill Gates could be isolated for the rest of his life and live just fine from an economic perspective. The vast majority of us do not have that luxury. -

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Thursday that his stay-at-home order for the entirety of New York State was “probably not the best public health strategy.” In a press conference in Albany, Cuomo said the smartest way forward would be a public health strategy that complemented a “get-back-to-work strategy.” “What we did was we closed everything down. That was our public health strategy. Just close everything, all businesses, old workers, young people, old people, short people, tall people,” said Cuomo. “Every school closed, everything.” “If you rethought that or had time to analyze that public health strategy, I don't know that you would say quarantine everyone,” Cuomo admitted. “I don't even know that that was the best public health policy. Young people then quarantined with older people was probably not the best public health strategy because the younger people could have been exposing the older people to an infection. “ Cuomo stressed the need for both public health and economic growth. “We have to do both,” said the governor. “We’re working on it.” https://www.foxnews.com/us/cuomo-closing-all-businesses-keeping-everyone-home-not-best-public-health-strategy I wonder how many people will be screaming about Cuomo wanting to sacrifice the vulnerable for the sake of the economy.... -

Yep, went to plenty of their games. I do like Cleveland; however, I used to listen to Yankee games on the radio with my father when I was a kid - that's how I became a fan. Here's hoping to getting back to our sports teams sooner rather than later
