  1. You do understand that the skin around the skull is thin on everyone? And if information doesn't get in, why am I getting upset? So many questions....
  2. It's only been disproven in three different threads. Why don't you spend your time reading through and getting caught up instead of wasting your time, and ours, posting unintelligible information...
  3. I didn't say it wasn't happening. However, before a legitimate discussion can happen pertaining to any shortage of PPE, or healthcare workers contracting the virus because of that shortage, we should start with the actual statistics and sources regarding the topic - rather than a generic "healthcare workers are getting the virus because of a shortage of PPE."
  4. Right, because I have never experienced the death of a friend or family member. Of course, I'm sure it is much more tragic for people if the death is from the coronavirus than say, cancer, heart disease, the flu, diabetes, murder, a crash with a drunken driver, etc., etc.... I'm sure the loved ones of the 40,000 to 50,000 people who will die this month from some other cause will take solace in the fact that it wasn't from the coronavirus.
  5. Why in the world would you quote an article from March 19 to support an argument of an ongoing shortage of PPE?
  6. Today, apparently it is not whether 1 + 1 = 2. It's about how you feel about it equaling 2....
  7. I know it is hard to believe, but healthcare workers can actually contract viruses from patients they work on. However, if you would like to provide the statistics and sources regarding the shortage of PPE and numbers of healthcare workers contracting the virus, then it would help the discussion.
  8. Shouldn't he be spending his time trying to get those 30,000 ventilators he and Cuomo were screaming about needing two weeks ago?
  9. Absolutely amazing to me that people want expend so much time finding blame during a crisis. However, what is more amazing to me is that, when they finally do settle on their object of blame, it is Trump and not China. Maybe because it is a virus that is highly contagious and can kill people, particularly in the place where most of the cases are?
  10. Right, most of those people came into the country before the Jan 31 restrictions. Forget the fact that, on Jan 23, the WHO was still reporting to the world that the outbreak did not yet constitute a public emergency of international concern and there was "no evidence" of the virus spreading between humans outside of China.....
  11. A motto you should live by in the future. It would greatly reduce the mortality rate of the threads you participate in.
  12. You are pretty spot on from everything I have read. It looks like the mortality rate will certainly be higher than the flu, but should still be under 1% - somewhere around .5 - .6 %. I think for this to not end up in second wave that equals this one, we need antibody tests available on a mass scale, advancements and availability of therapeutic drugs, and a smart way to phase into full employment.
  13. There are a lot of good things that could come out of this if everyone can find a way to just keep the politics to a minimum I know, that's a tough thing to ask
  14. Shhhhh....we're not allowed to talk about numbers now. "Emotions," that is the word for today...
  15. Why waste your time responding to a poster whose two primary contributions to this thread have been his paraphilic like fascination with ball licking, and hoping for people to die so Trump won't be reelected?
  16. If you are so curious, why don't you look them up and post them? Hey let's not look at numbers when we can react with emotions! So say the folks who have been sceaming about predictive numbers for over a month.....
  17. Of course. Pretty in-depth answer there, Tiberius. Hope you didn't overwork yourself in formulating it.
  18. Just posting current facts on which to base a discussion, Gary. Sorry they don't fit the narrative for some around here. Maybe you could actually try adding anything productive at all to any discussion
  19. Just answer the question. If Trump waited too long to do anything, shouldn't the numbers in the US resemble what we are seeing in Italy, France, Spain rather than what we see in Germany, who, by the way, the same people saying Trump waited too long have been praising Germany? Here are some current numbers to help you Country Population Tests conducted Tests conducted per million Cases Deaths Deaths per million Cases per million Death Rate of confirmed cases Italy 60000000 619000 10316.67 132547 16523 275.38 2209.12 12.47% Spain 46000000 355000 7717.39 140510 13798 299.96 3054.57 9.82% France 65000000 101046 1554.55 98984 8926 137.32 1522.83 9.02% Belgium 11000000 22615 2055.91 22194 2035 185.00 2017.64 9.17% Germany 83000000 918460 11065.78 103375 1810 21.81 1245.48 1.75% UK 67000000 173784 2593.79 52301 5385 80.37 780.61 10.30% Total 332000000 2189905 6596.10 549911 48477 146.02 1656.36 8.82% United States 331000000 1900000 5740.18 368449 10993 33.21 1113.14 2.98%
  20. So. I'm a little confused here. If Trump ignored the warning signs and waited far too long to do anything, shouldn't those catastrophic predictions be coming through? If you look across every country (with reporting that is expected to be legitimate and accurate) with a significant number of cases, The numbers in the United States more closely resemble the numbers of Germany, whom everyone has touted as doing a great job than the numbers of countries like France, Spain, and Italy.
