The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
billsfan1959 replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
As usual, you are a little slow on the uptake. This was hashed out 50 pages or so back in the thread..... And like every stance you have taken, you are wrong on this one as well. -

Except your actions show that the reverse is true for you: Once we determine who we want to be held accountable, then let's determine how much responsibility we force them to accept -

You are looking to assign blame, but only where you want it to be assigned. It doesn't matter what facts are presented, you will always arrive at the same conclusions. Good luck with that.... -

The Babylon Bee, America's Newspaper

A political movement that immediately demands that people they disagree with be forcefully silenced by myriad means such as having their sponsors pulled and having them fired from their jobs expressed Friday that they weren’t 100% sure why the nation was so polarized and divided. Lamenting the significant problem of America’s deep divisions while simultaneously creating internet mobs to lynch those with whom they disagree, the nation’s liberals collectively stated they couldn’t figure out why polar opposites continued to drift further and further apart. Representatives of the left, who recently campaigned for advertisers to tank a show they did not like and for a magazine to fire a man they did not agree with, expressed their bewilderment that the nation can’t just unite and all get along. A barrage of social media posts and opinion pieces by progressives all expressed similar confusion at the nation’s polarization. “It just doesn’t make any sense,” one opinion writer at Slate wrote, in an article entitled “Why Can’t We All Just Get Along And Also Agree With Me Or I Will Kill You?” “Why can’t our nation get along? Also, if you breathe an opinion even slightly different from our own, we will destroy you. But yeah, let’s all be united and stuff.” -

Exactly. People who continually want to complain, criticize, and engage in the blame game, during a crisis, are doing so out of purely selfish reasons. There will be plenty of time to analyze responses and actions down the road. When we do, and if we do so from an objective perspective, we will find that there were plenty of mistakes made by many people, here and around the world. Rather than use that information to cast blame on those who were trying their best, hopefully, we can use it to take steps to reduce the chances of it happening again and to be better prepared the next time it does. -

If you stop being so emotional for a minute, you will realize he was laughing and making a mockery of people like you. I understand those kinds of distinctions can be a little too nuanced for you to grasp while you are in such an emotional state, and while you are exerting so much energy in trying to shame everybody because you can no longer intellectually defend your positions. Slow down and think, and you will understand how ridiculous most of what you say really is. It would save the rest of us the time of explaining it to you. -
Every single Agent that was involved in this fiasco should be held accountable. The management structure in the FBI was tripled under Mueller and filled with younger Agents who spent relatively little time in the field actually doing any real work - and whose personal ambitions were more important to them than the integrity of the agency. He was the catalyst for what culminated in "Crossfire Hurricane," and, in a complete irony, he was tasked to take an honest, objective view at the very management structure and culture he created.

I think for the most part; they have coordinated pretty well; however, if you look at some of the early pressers from a number of governors (i.e.; Inslee, Cuomo, Polis, Whitmer) there was a lot of political grandstanding. The Detroit News actually called out Whitmer for turning the crisis into a political campaign for her next aspiration at the expense of the people of Michigan. Most of it has settled down. Agree with you on the media -

Not a fan of Newsom; however, he has been one of the few Governors (D) that kept the political rhetoric to a minimum and actually tried to work with Trump - and Trump reciprocated in kind. -
