I've been thinking about how Fitz has been playing this year, and it seems to me that you could draw a parallel between the season he is having this year and the career of Archie Manning: A good QB who is being handcuffed by the team around him. However, being 22 years old I have no firsthand knowledge of Archie or the 1970's "aint's." Could some of the people who do remember this team chime in and let me know if this is a fitting comparison or if I'm way off base here and why?

I think this team would be much better right now with either Fewell HC/Gailey OC or Gailey HC/Fewell DC. Since Fewell going back to DC after being interim HC wasn't going to happen, I agree with you but it's not because of anything Gailey has or hasn't done. I really like how he has the offense playing.

It sounds like Howard will still be getting time, maybe even a majority of the snaps, at RT. I don't really expect Wrotto to be an upgrade, otherwise he would have been starting over Howard as soon as Green went down. As far as Howard vs. Green, Howard was manhandled against KC but was respectable against Baltimore, pretty much what I would expect out of an undrafted rookie. Showed some potential, but took his lumps as well. He is an improvement over Green if for no other reason than he can still get better, while Green will only decline at his age, but I also think he has played a little better since he has been in the lineup.

Because smart kids go to college where they can binge drink 4-5 nights a week for 4 years with no consequences. Not so smart kids enter the workforce right out of high school and have to be responsible or they will lose their jobs

I don't understand why Marino was better than Kelly in many people's eyes. Sure he threw for more yards, but Marino never won the big one either and Kelly's Bills owned Marino's Dolphins, especially in the playoffs.

I agree with you. While I believe he shouldn't have been put in that position to begin with, I also believe there comes a point when one has to be accountable for his own safety.

Interesting piece, it paints a much different picture of Buffalo than the common perception. Its a sad commentary on the country in general though when 8.6% unemployment is a selling point.

I have Fitzpatrick in my yahoo.com fantasy league, and was looking at his player notes when I came across this: The NFL has changed a stat from a play in Sunday's Bills-Ravens game, so Fitzpatrick now has 382 passing yards instead of 374, BuffaloBills.com reports. Has anybody else seen anything about this, or does anybody know what play they changed? I've never heard of the league doing this before. It seems odd that they would add 8 yards to a play in the middle of the week. Is it common that in game stats get botched and are later corrected?

I haven't noticed "Fitz's mediocrity" this season even though we're not stopping the other guys.

Continued improvement form the offense, and for the defense to start showing signs of life as well. If we win a few games (which we will if both of these happen) all the better.
