  1. Is the offense in a slump at all though? I don't think it is. This year if you take away defensive touchdowns, the bills have scored 41, 38, 27, 13, 24, 24, 23, and 11 points in their games. Looks to me like a team that consistently scores on the mid 20's on offense, with a couple really good games and a couple really bad games thrown in. To say the offense has been less effective each passing week isn't accurate IMO, especially when one of the worst games for offensive point production was 5 games ago. I'm not saying I don't want them to get back to the production they had against kc and Oakland, but I think the trend we see in the numbers is more indicative of regression toward the mean than a stagnating offense at this point. If they put together a few more games in a row where they don't crack 20 on offense, I might be more inclined to agree with you.
  2. Saying they don't deserve the playoffs based on one game is a bit of an overreaction. If your kid failed one test in high school, would you tell him he doesn't deserve to get into college?
  3. Norwood is probably still in town. Maybe they'll bring him in for a tryout.
  4. I don't expect to see this, but I think it would be awesome if on the first series we figured out a way to get macintyre 1 on 1 blocking revis with a full head of steam on running plays. A few good licks from Corey early could rattle him and throw him off his game.
  5. Why don't you see the Bills going 12-4? If they win this week, they'll be on pace to do just that and they have a easier 2nd half schedule with the fins twice and Denver at home yet to come. 12-4 wouldn't shock me at all, and I actually think 14-2 or 13-3 are possible, though unlikely.
  6. White outs are cool, but what I'm really looking forward to is the blue out. That'll be after the game when I'll be saying "Damn, the Jets got blue out today!"
  7. The seating capacity of the stadium back then was 80,000+. Attendance for the comeback game you are referring to was 75,000, which is 2,000 more than then the current seating capacity. The Colts blizzard game 2 years ago was a sellout, and the Bills had 5 wins going into that game in awful conditions. There's no way the Bills have trouble selling out their December games if they're in playoff contention IMO.
  8. I wore my Bills parachute pants that had mysteriously gone missing at the beginning of the season until I found them while cleaning out my closet during the bye week.
  9. I remember people saying t would always be Rich Stadium, too. Look how that turned out.
  10. Us Rochesterians are still bitter over that one.
  11. Are you really interpreting my use of the word sneak as if I meant it would take some covert operation to get him back to the practice squad, or was that a poor attempt at humor? I was simply acknowledging that any time you cut a player you would like to keep, there is some element of risk involved. I also acknowledged that it would be unlikely for him to get picked up by saying that we could probably get him back on the practice squad.
  12. I think it would be a good move with all the injuries we have at WR and the 4 wide sets that we run. Stevie, TO, Nelson, and Jones when he comes back would be a lot for other teams to handle all on the field at the same time. It would also allow Spiller to go back to RB and keep Ruevell Martin off the field except for special teams. Who would we cut to make the roster spot though? I hope not Namaan. With McGee back and Aaron Williams hopefully coming back soon we could probably sneak Wheatley back on the practice squad.
  13. Sure he had a great defense that helped them get there, but he started every game for the Bears the year they went to the Superbowl. We hear the cliche all the time that its a quarterback driven league,so you have to give him some of the credit for the team's accomplishments that year. Even if the defense was the anchor of that team, Grossman at the very least was the leader of the offense. You can't just throw that out the window to prove a point that the guy sucks (which I happen to agree with). My point is you can say he sucks and still give credit where it's due.
  14. No, he's saying the opposite. Maybin and Wood were drafted in the same year. Maybin in the top third of the first round, and Wood with one of the last 5 picks of the first round. The higher pick has done nothing for us, while the later pick anchors our offensive line.
  15. Those are pretty bold statements considering he's already led his team to a superbowl appearance.
  16. Even if the Jets take one from us (I don't see Miami beating us this year), the chargers and Cowboys are both winnable games as well, so we just need to win one of those to make up for the loss. Bottom line is right now we are one game behind NE, and I don't think keeping pace with them until the last game is unrealistic. The division very well could be on the line in week 17.
  17. Almost 2 weeks and this is the best response you come up with?
  18. Bills win out their home games, sweep Jets and Fins to be 11-4 and guaranteed at least a wildcard going into New England with the Pats at 12-3 and the division on the line.
  19. I was just looking over the Jets remaining schedule to see how difficult it will be for them to get back in the playoff race, and when I got to the Jets-Giants game, it made me wonder how the blackout rule would be implemented if somehow this game didn't sell out (which I know would never happen). But if it didn't, would the game be blacked out in NYC or not? The so-called home team not selling out would dictate a blackout obviously, but would the away team being in the same market compel the league to show the game?
  20. Aren't you contradicting yourself a bit here? All three Giants TD's were 1 yard runs. If the defense does what you say its job should be in this game, the Bills win 24-15. Even if they only turn one TD into a FG instead, they still win 24-23. Instead, the defense was unable to stop the Giants in the redzone, which is what you say their job is, and they played good enough to win? Doesn't make sense to me. At any rate, I don't see how either side of the ball cost them the game more than the other. Both units made several key mistakes that cost the team the game. Both units also made a few big plays that would have been crucial to the victory if we had been able to pull it out. What this ultimately boils down to is this: The offense played good enough to win if the defense played a little better, and the defense played good enough to win if the offense played a little better. At the end of the day, that just means neither unit played good enough to win.
  21. I think Fitz's contract will and should end up being closer to 10 million than 7 million per year. TO got 6.5 in his one year with us, and at this point Fitz has shown that he's far more valuable to the team than an aging WR on a one year contract could ever be.
  22. I just changed mine to Pass Interflorence
