Bills odds for Super Bowl LI
Chandemonium replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
30-1 seems about right. If all teams were perceived as having an equal chance, all the odds would be 31-1. 30-1 basically means they're seen as an average team, which is about where they've been the past couple years. -

I too have strong childhood memories of the BerenstEin Bears. After reading your post I did some googling and found this blog post. http://woodbetweenworlds.blogspot.com/2014/06/commenting-on-berenstein-bears.html?m=1 Reading it, I was reminded of the time I died when I was in third grade. I don't remember actually dying or know how I died, but I have vivid memories of being dead and for several days and being the only person who seemed to realize I was dead. Its difficult to explain, but it was like everyone around seemed to think everything was normal, but I just knew that I was dead and didn't belong in the world anymore, even though I was able to go about my normal third grader business and seemed to be fooling everyone around me into thinking I was fine. Eventualy after several days of thisI felt normal again. I have long believed that the entire experience was simply a dream far more elaborate and realistic than any I have had before or since, but reading that blog made me realize that the time I thought was dead and felt like I was in a world I no longer belonged in was likely when the 'E' universe me and the 'A' universe me switched places. To everyone else I appeared the same which is why they never let on that anything was different, and my new environment was similar enough to my old one that I assimilated within a few days, never suspecting that I was in another world, differentiated only by a single letter in the name of children's book series. -
It's official: All Boston sports teams cheat!
Chandemonium replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I don't think that it does. It will increase your feel for the puck on your stick slightly, but I always thought this rule was more for safety and to make it harder to impede opponents by grabbing them. -

Could they overturn the goal? I thought it was just a minor penalty for the first infraction. I've never heard of a goal being overturned because of it. -
I'm more of an all two minutes lover.

That's almost the same as I got, but I got mckellar and Kenny Davis and didn't get cline. 9/32. Still not bad for a guy who was a toddler during the glory years.

Anyone able to catch me up to speed on the first few minutes of tonight's episode? I tuned in a little late and missed everything before when they were sitting in skinner's office talking about the classified files mulder found.

Utica NY is it a fine place to live?
Chandemonium replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
If I were to move to Utica, I think I would rather live in the sticks somewhere and commute in, but that would be my preference with just about any city. -
Utica NY is it a fine place to live?
Chandemonium replied to BuffaloBill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
They have a Bass Pro so it's got one thing going for it Buffalo doesn't. I've never lived there but I've visited a few times and liked it well enough. The Matt brewery (saranac, Utica club) alone makes it worth a visit but I wouldn't move there because of it, unless of course I was taking a position there. -
I'm fine with it if Pegs is going to treatise to a new stadium, but I don't support the use of taxpayer funds for it.

The Rob Ryan Poll to End All Polls Poll

No yes yes. Don't like the hire, my already low opinion of Rex is now worse, and instead of another 8-8 year at best I'm now thinking 5-11. -
Divisional Playoff Matchups Set
Chandemonium replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm expecting the pats* to win, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Chiefs won. the Chiefs are one of the hottest teams in football right now and the pats have lost 4 of the last 6, including 2 in a row to close the regular season. Brady has been taking a pounding over the last half of the season and if the Chiefs can continue that trend early in the game I like their chances. -
schadenfreude over Cincinnati meltdown
Chandemonium replied to SJ Bills backer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Classless, yes, but I'd be lying if I said I thought the same thing wouldn't happen at the Ralph if it was Brady being carted off in the playoffs. Unfortunately it only takes a few idiots to make the entire fanbase look bad in those situations. -
Worse to be a Bills fan or a Bengals fan right now?
Chandemonium replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I said, if you can't figure out I meant the fan experience since that's the point of this whole thread despite the word fan not appearing in my post, that's your problem, not mine. And since you can't even manage to quote me correctly, perhaps you should look in the mirror when saying it's ok to be wrong. -

Since the entire topic is about being a fan, if you couldn't figure out that that's what I was referring to that's your problem. -

Chandemonium replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not saying anything about the strength of any individual teams, I'm talking about the fan experience of a perennial playoff team vs. ours. We as fans watch the games because we want to see our team win, and teams that are good enough to make the playoffs year in and year out win more than teams that are never good enough to make the playoffs year in and year out. When they're fresh playoff losses may sting more than being eliminated somewhere between week 12 and 16 due to the higher hopes and higher stakes, but that doesn't change the fact that objectively over time fans of consistent playoff teams enjoy more success than Bills fans have over the past decade and a half. Edit: using your Texans example, they have made the playoffs what, 3 of the last 5 years or something like that? Regardless of who is the better team right now, over that time period Texans fans have had it better than bills fans, on the whole. -

IMO you'd have to be crazy to think that being a perennial playoff team is worse than not making them for 16 years, no matter what happens once you get there. -

Who are we rooting for to win the SB? Me? The Jets.
Chandemonium replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think I'd like to see the panthers win it all, but only if they go 19-0 to do it. What I don't want is the Seahawks making it, even if they don't win. The one thing the bills have is being the only team to go to four in a row, and a team making 3 in a row with at least one win already would be too close for comfort on the possibility of tying that record while one upping the success. -
I didn't see the helmet to helmet on the last play, but I did hear someone else complaining about it so maybe I'll look at it again. On a somewhat related topic that I don't feel warrants its own thread, did anyone else think there was unnecessary roughness on the play where cox dropped McCoy for the huge loss? He shoved him causing him to go down, and then jumped on top when McCoy was down. He wasn't trying to bury him or anything, but I've seen lesser piling on get called.
