sometimes I wonder if things would've been different if Fitz didn't take that shot to the ribs against the redskins from London fletcher when we were 5-2 in 2011. Long term I don't think it changed much about who he is as a qb, but for the rest of that season it seemed like he was uncomfortable in the pocket and his throws lacked zip, even by his standards. Maybe if it doesn't happen we would've got a few more games of the hot Fitz and had a season like the jets did last year.

Maybe that was the mistake. Some intern thought the file photos of players were alphabetized by first name, and there were only pics of one guy in the I-K folder. That must be John, right?

That may be the best defense, but it still isn't very good. I played soccer growing up, and my playing style earned me more than my fair share of cards. I never intentionally kicked anyone in the knee though, and certainly didn't have an "instinct" to do so.

Depends on the Pats* record. If both teams are 13-2 winning the last game could be the difference between the 1 seed and the 5. Gotta play everybody in that scenario. If the pats* already have 3 or more losses we have the division and likely the #1 seed ground up and in the freezer even with a loss. In that case maybe you think about resting key starters.

Am I the only one who actually thinks more teams should do this? Not in every kneel down situation, but if it's a one score game and you can force a turnover with enough time to have a realistic shot to get the tying or winning points, why wouldn't you try?

I might be forgetting a play or two, but it was on our first drive and if I remember right it was only the second play, the first being the big Shady run that you can see the end of the replay on the video.

I see how it looks like it could be a horse collar, but I don't think it was. Looks like he got him by the shoulder pads in the armpit area, below the nameplate. You can't really see it during the tackle, but that's where the defender's hand is once Taylor is down

I think we can get a wild card going 2-1 in the next three, but I'm also fantasizing about taking the division. If we can go 3-0 headed into the pats* rematch, a win at home against the filthy Cheats would give us a tied record and the head to head tiebreaker, assuming the cheats also win out their 3 games before the rematch. Them dropping one of their next 3 and losing to us again would give us the lead outright and the tiebreaker if we can win out the next 3. A guy can dream, right?

He does? We haven't seen him yet this year and he got the snot knocked out of him pretty much the entire second half of last season and looked shaky down the stretch after a hot start. Favre in 2009 and Peyton manning in 2013 put up career years and looked like they could play at a high level indefinitely, and then were out of the league in 1-2 seasons. The fall will be dramatic, and it's closer than you think. At least I hope it is. I'm thinking he has 2, maybe 3 more good years at the most, including this one.

I live in Columbia SC. My wife is a teacher and her district cancelled school for the rest of the week so the schools can be prepped as evacuation sites for the folks on the coast. Grocery stores are already getting crazy too.

It ended up being moot with the penalty, but watching it live I thought he made a mistake by angling away from the tackler as much as he did. If he took the hit while he was still headed upfield I think his momentum would've carried him in before he was brought down, if he was even caught. It seems like all he accomplished was giving the defense (was it brown?) more time to catch him.
