  1. Have you heard about Orion’s Belt? ...it’s a huge waist of space.
  2. So that’s why they needed the term limit amendment to get rid of FDR. It all makes sense now.
  3. I was discussing the wall with a left leaning friend of mine the other day, and to defend her position that it’s not needed she brought up how most of the drugs come in at ports of entry. When I asked her how she knew this, she just said it was a pretty well known fact. I said that since we only have data on the drugs we catch, we have no idea how many drugs are coming in over open border and another plausible explanation for that data is that drugs are easier to intercept at ports of entry than open border with sparse patrol and no barrier, and the purpose of the wall is to funnel more of traffic to the ports of entry, where it’s easier to catch. She just stood there slack jawed for a moment and then changed the subject.
  4. I dunno, probably addicts.
  5. I heard on the radio on my way to work this morning that Ted Cruz is proposing using the assets seized from El Chapo to fund the wall. Sounds awfully close to Mexico paying for it to me.
  6. There’s plenty of leftists on my Facebook feed complaining about how no refund is further proof that Trump hates poor people.
  7. While y’all were setting me straight I did some research after I posted and realized I was wrong about the conviction thing, which actually makes me feel a little better about my concerns about the thought of citizens being charged and convicted in secret, but it raises another interesting point depending on the timeline of events. If indeed these secret pardon rumors are true, It would imply that the president had knowledge of these crimes. If the secret pardons were granted before any of the individuals had been otherwise accused of the crimes for which they were pardoned, by pardoning them Obama would be implicating himself at minimum as having knowledge and looking the other way, if not as being involved directly.
  8. Wouldn’t they have to have been convicted of a crime to be pardoned? So in this scenario, they would be secretly charged, secretly convicted, and then secretly pardoned. The idea of a secret pardon to absolve cronies of any future prosecution is bad enough on its own from an ethics standpoint, but the implication that citizens can be convicted in secret is downright terrifying. I really hope this rumor isnt true for that reason alone, aside from wanting to see those you mentioned held accountable for their scummy behavior.
  9. That salmon colored section seems like a great deal. Only $450, and the alcohol is free!
  10. No one ever said nothing can occur late in pregnancy that can endanger the mother’s life or that well known medical conditions don’t exist. @B-Man‘s position from the beginning has been that these conditions exist and may require preterm delivery either by induction or emergency c-section to save the mother in some cases, but that it is not necessary to kill the child first. I think he’s been pretty clear on that point, but I’ll let him correct me if I missstated anything.
  11. I didn’t answer the poll, but I did watch on CBS just because the last thing I watched on tv was the super bowl so it was already on
  12. Two things here: 1) the state doesn’t run the schools, the school district does, so even if the gov’t has the right to restrict carrying in their buildings, the state should leave it up to the proper governing agency, i.e. the school district. 2) people like you who will knowingly carry illegally in restricted areas are exactly why I as a school district employee would like to retain my right to self defense in my workplace.
  13. Part of me thinks they already are.
  14. I’m confused. Your stance is that young, physically attractive women get more attention than other folks, and you think that’s an unpopular opinion? It’s pretty much a proven fact.
  15. If my understanding of the senate rules is correct, McConnell could’ve forced a vote in the senate by allowing the Dems to do an actual speaking filibuster, and then in turn forcing each one to yield the floor the moment they strayed off topic. Once each dem had spoken on the bill twice, they would not be eligible to speak again and a vote could be called and the bill passed on a simple majority. Other than taking a ton of time I’m not sure what the ramifications of doing it that way would’ve been or why they didn’t consider attempting it.
  16. Speaking generally, team with the ball has the advantage over the team without it simply by possessing the means to score, and I don’t find it as exciting when the team with the advantage does what they are supposed do vs. when the disadvantaged team is able to overcome and turn the tables. For this reason I tend to be a defense guy, but there has to be a balance. If it’s a game I’m a neutral observer in, I don’t want to see both teams go 3 and out 8 times in a row and I don’t think anyone else does either, but generally speaking I find interceptions more exciting than touchdown passes, and I’d rather see a sack on 3rd and 9 than a 10 yard completion.
  17. You’re too gentle hearted. I want to see his helmet come off on the field with his head still inside.
  18. You reckon this is what the 4:00 announcement is/could be?
  19. Not really, and sure it’s fun to daydream about josh Allen teaming up with our hof running backs and receivers while Bruce rips Tom Brady’s head off, but it’s kind of easy and to me it was more interesting and challenging to think about who could actually come in and contribute in their current condition that I would actually want back. Other than Woods the only people I could think of were Jason Peters, or Kyle unretiring.
  20. Well yeah, unless you have a time machine or GPS directions to the fountain of youth you’d like to share. How else could they go on the current team but at their current age?
  21. That’s what I get for skimming instead of reading I guess
  22. Robert Woods. He’s a hard worker, he’s maybe not great any anything but he’s pretty good at everything you would ask from a WR, and he’s still productive in the league. All these other guys people are mentioning are way too old.
  23. Not an open border chap, but here goes: 1) yes 2) yes 3) I’d call the coroner, but I’m sure the police would come too.
  24. I don’t know if I’ve ever bought ammo and only bought 20 rounds. Maybe when buying shotgun slugs since they come in boxes of 5.
