  1. How is hillbilly racist? It’s perjorative, but not against any one race. Uneducated country folk from the mountains can be any race.
  2. Where are Bill and Boomhauer in the first frame?
  3. I’m aware. That’s why I said I *might* support it. I think they should exhaust other options to attempt to eliminate intentional head shots from the game first, but if ejections, stiffer fines, and longer suspensions aren’t effective at greatly reducing the frequency, so be it. At that point either the player would care about their team enough to not do it, or they’d find themselves out of a job quickly because coaches and front offices wouldn’t tolerate it. A similar, but less extreme option I find interesting would be if they did it just for the remainder of the drive, like a hockey power play. Honestly part of why I find these options intriguing is because I think it would be interesting to see how coaches would adjust to playing down a man.
  4. This. IMO any personal foul should only be offset by another personal foul, and targeting helmet to helmet should be an automatic ejection. I might even support something similar to a red card in soccer, where if a player gets ejected you play with 10 men on that side of the ball for the rest of the game.
  5. It would be quite the feat if they were able to pull that stunt off at a road game.
  6. I don’t remember who it was against, but there was a game about 10 years ago where the wind bent the goalposts at like a 30 degree angle. edit: just looked it up. It was the pats, funny enough https://www.google.com/amp/s/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2008/12/28/bent-goalposts-wont-keep-bills-pats-game-from-going-forward/amp/
  7. I’m pretty sure it was FDR. All the other presidents stood up to call Congress savages.
  8. I’ve never minded Murphy, and thought a lot of the criticism he took was unfair due to simply being average and having to follow in Van Miller’s legendary footsteps, but the complete lack of excitement on the Knox catch and run was brutal.
  9. I was at the game when we beat them in 2011, tunnel end zone 6 rows up. The team was fully expecting the fans to go after the goal posts if we won. As soon as it looked like we might have a chance in the 4th quarter, they stationed groundskeepers at the goal posts with the equipment to take them down, and they had them down as soon as the kick went through. So while fans may storm the field again, I don’t think the goal posts are coming down, at least not at the hands of the fans.
  10. I think the Bills will win too, but 580-08 sounds a bit optimistic for the score.
  11. Miami is tanking so hard I thought this thread was going to be about the character from The League.
  12. The Jets won’t won a game as long as Simian has to play. ...and as I’m typing this he gets injured.
  13. I agree with that, you can’t count on 4 ints a game against anybody, especially Brady. Doesn’t make the win any less legit. It was an early season division game that both teams came into undefeated. He was trying his best to beat us the whole game, it’s not like it was week 17 and he played one series and never threw a pass just so he could be credited with the start. 100 bucks of my own money to the first of my men to really nail that creep.
  14. I know how the game went, I was there. The defense that day made plays to force those 4 ints. That’s a credit to them, not an extenuating circumstance. The fact that it was Brady they forced into 4 ints and he rarely turns the ball over makes it all the more impressive.
  15. So the defense playing well enough to force the best qb ever into 4 interceptions counts against them somehow? ?
  16. That’s the first one I thought of, but it sticks in the mind because it was all one play. It was also 10 years ago, surely there must’ve been 1 or 2 since then?
  17. To miss with 13 every team in the division would need to go 13-3, which I think would only be possible if they all went 10-0 outside the division and 3-3 in the division.
  18. One of the guys I watch the games with brought a Giants fan friend of his to the bar yesterday. When they showed the replay even the Giants fan thought it was a BS call.
  19. For sure. 11 wins has been enough to make the playoffs all but a handful of times, and no one has ever missed with 12 or more as far as I know. It’s just interesting to me that it would be possible to miss with 13 wins.
  20. 100%. I believe the best record where it would be mathematically possible to miss is 13-3.
  21. Dang. I was worried people would think I was too bougee for grinding my own beans and using a French press.
  22. This game, or for the season? For the season Barkley is the obvious safe choice but for the game I’ll go full homer and say that Singletary carves the giants up for 150 all purpose and we hold Barkley to 25 on 10 carries and another 15 on 3 catches.
  23. How will anyone tell the difference compared to normal DC traffic? Also, has anyone pointed out to these activists that by blocking traffic they’re contributing to the problem they’re protesting by keeping more fossil fuel burning cars running for longer than they otherwise would have?
  24. I assumed we were talking .223 since this is an AR conversation and that’s the most popular AR chambering. My point remains that Beto thinks the round itself is too powerful for civilians to own, and yet you think even more powerful cartridges will be exempt from banning or confiscation. How do you reconcile that?
  25. A .223 is .22 calber. A heavier bullet with more powder behind it than a .22 rimfire round, but same caliber/bullet diameter.
