I really don't much care about the cowboys in general but this kind of stuff about families just leaching on & trying to take advantage of others shows just what this guy had to go through to get out of his upbringing . The same has happened to a lot of stars not just sports stars , but good for him that he is having it handled , but you can bet he doesn't get invited to Thanksgiving !!!

The thing that gets me the most is , he says that the players have to be accountable to each other ?? OK i get it !! But when (if at all) are the players accountable to their boss ? Not only that but when does the boss set them all straight & say "look this is not acceptable AT ALL , either you start doing your job or you will be on the bench no matter who you are & some one else will get a shot to prove them selves " .. You think Harbaugh or Cowher would be as calm cool & collected on the sidelines Hell no they wouldn't they would be chewin some bodies ass that you can bet !!!

I wonder what they would give us for Mcgee ?? Oh thats right we want to keep him around so he can help the rookies & play at 70% & take up a roster spot in stead of getting more draft picks to boost our draft . We just keep giving them away T Jack , Carder , & so on !!!

If you heard what Andre Ware said about Mario on WGR interview you can almost bet Mario will show up in this game , the question is how long will it take for him to fall back into the ranks of the unseen ?? And if you have any questions on why Houston didn't fight to keep him there then just look at what he has showed to this point . If he had the work ethic of say one Bruce Smith he could be that good but his motivation to be great is the same as we talked about when talking about another UNC - DE that came out this year in Quinton Couples ... They both take plays off !! These guys are HUGE & if they can't dominate the people they line up against they are not giving it their all PERIOD !!! And where Marcel has not only being a second year player on his side plus the fact of his family thngs that could be distracting him Mario is a VETERAN & has showed he can be that player ! Just chooses or is not motivated due to his contract to not be that player ALL THE TIME !!!! DITTO !!!!!!

YA He is definitely missed ! Great team guy !! But if you put Graham in the slot & I say Easley on the outside he might be less missed than he is in the passing game between the 20's . Now when it comes to the end zone a totally different story !! Get well D Nell !!

First let me start by saying my heart goes out to all those effected by the hurricane this past week but NY's are tough & will bounce back !! While listening to Mike & Mike this morning they were reporting that the NBA season was to start either last night or tonight in Brooklyn in the brand new Barkley Center with the Brooklyn Nets , yet in the after math of Sandy which has devastated NJ & NYC which both would have some rooting interest in that game it would be a good thing to postpone the opening game due to the circumstances . Well i have to say that i agree ! But the thing that again stuck out to me is once again all the money in NYS when it comes to sports & there complexes is constantly being pumped into NY CITY & SCREW the rest of the state !! In the last less than ten years just in NYC there has been 3 sports arena's or stadiums built with funding from you the tax payer , Yankee Stadium , Met's Stadium & The Barkley Center , not to mention that the "NY Giants & the NY Jets" which of the 2 neither play in the state of NY have had a 1.2 Billion dollar stadium built . But when it comes to the Bills getting little if any help from the state it's AW HELL TO THE NO !! Sorry but that is total BS !! As i said in my opening statement i feel for those in the city b/c of the unfortunate circumstances with the storm & i don't want this to at all be misconstrued as being a diss of any sort at this time against either NYC or NJ !! But when it comes to the sports part of the city verse the rest of the state GMAFB !! Why is it that all this stuff gets past money wise for the city but the rest of the state has to suffer so they (NYC) can thrive & still not appreciate what is given to them while all others have to do with out ??

Wow it's awfully funny how when a group of investors come along with a real gem of a deal for a new stadium the old crap get's pushed into high gear all of the sudden ... I was just at the Ralph when the Bills made history against the Pats & i will say i didn't see where it was all that bad . Sure it's open air & if i was to look a bit harder i could have found things wrong with the old place , but the main factor in todays NFL is Jerry Jones , Robert Kraft , & other owners that don't want to share unless all are A88whole over tea cups in debt with a Billion dollar egoed out stadium !! Jerry's Texas stadium wasn't in bad shape but it's all about him , i went there & worked a concert & saw it first hand , the guy is a first class ASS BAG & just b/c he's all about spending all kinds of cash he thinks every one else should be just as far in debt to level the playing field .. I think we should get a deal done for 6 to 8 years & forge ahead on the new stadium , how often do you get investors willing to foot 70% of the bill for a 1.2 billion dollar stadium/sports museum/convention hall ? But leave it up to locals they'll run that idea out along with the long term viability of Our Bills !!

You know i really liked Chan & the fire he shows at times on the side line , but while i listened to his interview on BB.com the one thing he kept saying was that the players have to be accountable to each other ... Although that may be true when the hell are they accountable to the BOSS ?? You think for one second that if Mario or any one else on our team came off the field with a half hearted effort that a coach like Harbaugh or Pittsburgs old coach Cower wouldn't be up in grill telling him what a piece of crap he was playing like ??? I thought Wanny was that guy , any time i've seen him on the side line before becoming B/Lo's D coordinator i've seen him screaming on the side lines & pissed off .. Well where ever he left that passion he needs to go back & get it or just get down on the side lines & get into peoples face & get them motivated B/C so far being accountable to the players just ain't working & something ain't right with a coach not gettin pissed !!! That's why we didn't like Jauron for goodness sakes !!

Sure it would but any body that thinks that guy will be there at 14 needs to get off the pipe b/c there dreaming !!!! He's top 3 !!!

With 2 players in the last few years in the NFL having big issues with migrane head aches those 2 being our own Shawn Nelson & Percy Harvin, i was wondering if any one had any info on Nelson ? He was highly touted prospect coming out of college & then the Migrane thing put him down . Which eventually lead to his termination as a Bill . But as i remember Percy Harvin of the Vikings had the same thing & this year & last he has come back from it better than ever which made me wonder about Nelson . He showed some flashes that he could have been another welcome receiver to add to Gailey's offense but b/c of the head aches & missing time he was let go . I know this has no bearing on anything that has happened this year other than another high draft pick in the Bills organization gone but do to circumstances beyond any ones control . But have any of you kept up on what might have happened to this guy ? I would have thought that seeing as Harvin & Nelson both had the same ailment that they would have gotten in touch with each other to compare notes so Nelson could quite possibly continue his NFL career with the Bils or with some other team ...

One thing for sure that you can take to the bank is that unlike other games this year Mario will show up at this one . As Andre Ware said in his interview on WGR 55 that the bigger the game thats when Mario shows up .. How much bigger a game can it be for him ? He wants to show the people in Houston what they let go , so i think this week people will be singing his praises not only in B/Lo (but in Houston too) & will give the credit to him getting his wrist looked at & that he will be back to player we thought ... But if what Andre Ware said is true it may take 1 or 2 games but he will disappear again . What we need is for Bruce to come back & show him how it's done . I heard stories back when Bruce was playing of how he would break stair master machines , that is work ethic & passion something that Mario apparently lacks or is at lacking consistency in !! GO BILLS !!!!!

My thoughts exactly , if they did hire him there would be no shortage of firey attitude thats for sure & i'll bet that Mario would get off his azz if Rob was his coach !!!

That along with Pollian drafting our QB of the future would do a lot , he would come in & probably clean house & it would also bring back some real substance to the Bills organization .. But seeing as Ralph fired Pollian (biggest mistake Ralph has ever made) do we really think that Ralph will eat his ego & hire him back ? The best thing that could happen is if Ralph left the team to Pollian in his will !!!! That's a dream !! And should have been paying attention to Colin Kliens last game !!!

Ya go figure the Giants have 2 of our old coaches Fewell , & Gilbride & they have a super bowl each although Gilbride has been there for both . Hey heres a thought , lets hire Gilbride as a head coach ,He's never been a HC in the league to this point has he !!!

The key phrase in your post is NATURAL positions which as i stated Merrimans NATURAL position is LB , and seeing as what ever they are doing isn't working why not at least try it ?? As the old adage says "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but our D seeing as we are setting records for futility it's broke so TRY SOMETHING TO FIX IT !! And to try a move like that with Merriman if for nothing but a spark to make these young guys realize we are willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to fix what's broken then i'm all for it !!! Very good point !!!!!

When you are a DE in the NFL that works for the Buffalo Bills you live in a very large shadow & when you put the tag of elite on that player the shadow gets even more intense . Because you always have BRUCE looking over your shoulder & when you read about elite NFL pass rushers his name is the explanation in Websters !!!

It's kind of like excuse are like A holes every one has one & they usually stink !! Which in this case Mario's excuse for his ineptness on the field is his wrist . Heck i can remember guys that have played on the offensive & defensive line in years past that have played with BROKEN ARMS in a cast !! That played for a lot less money too !! Unless this guy comes out in the second half f the season on fire he will be run out of town on a rail ! He may play good in this game this week because he will be motivated by the fact that he is going back to his old team & wants to show them that they made a mistake by letting him go . IMHO the following week will be the tell all , if he plays well this week & then disappears again after then we will all be able to tell what he is made of , MONEY MONEY MONEY !!

I know the article is a little old but if you jump ahead a few years & change the franchise (if the new stadium project isn't looked at a bit more seriously) it could sound an awful lot like our Bills very soon !!! And given what Brandon said about the stadium project being a non starter you can almost bet that you will be able to use that same article for our team ! That's what we get for having a reactive FO instead of a proactive FO . Keep up the good work Russ ..

I agree there are others that are coming out this year that i like a lot & that deserve a long hard look those being Colin Klien - K State , Tyler Wilson - Ark. & if A.J. McCarron comes out this year we could do a lot worse even if he is just a pocket passer . Geno Smith could be another possibility but i'm not as high on him . Barkley although mentioned in top QB conversations has struggled a bit this year but we could do a lot worse . But given our past history with California QB's not to mention the list of USC QB's that are less than elite now in the NFL (Palmer , Sanchez , Lienhart) & the one Southern californian QB that i hate more than any other Rob (I SUCK) Johnson i am way more than gun shy when it comes to a USC & california pretty boy QB's !! If we could though i would package some kind of deal to go get Mani Teo the guy is lights out , he & Keuchly will be making plays for a lot of years in this league !!

Our year started with high expectations , especially with our defense & rightfully so . But as we all know what we thought would be is not & we find our selves coming into the second half of the year with certain things that need to be addressed , some more than others & mainly on our D . The run game on D & the pass rush are our main deficiency on defense & our starters are not providing the play to get the job done . If for nothing else to provide a spark or a slap in the face (a wake up call if you will) why not use other players that we have to see if it would provide a spark or wake up the starters by sitting them for a game (or 2) & use the starters as back ups for a wake up call . Make them realize that they can still lose there starting job if they don't perform ... Our LB ing corp & our secondary to some extent are very suspect & we have a few players that could add that needed spark , two that have been mostly inactive this year one on injured reserve , one inactive for most of the year & the other just came back to the team after being cut at the start of the season . I am asking this to see what if any sense this could make especially from our veteran guys on this sight that have been posting for a long period of time (such as PTR & BB & others) that seem to know a bit more than just our casual posters or rookies which i consider my self to be although i like to think i know a little bit about football as most of us do .. If we were relegate 2 starters to back ups those being Sheppard & A Williams & replace them with K . Morrison & R . Brooks would that provide a spark to our D or the motivation for the other guys to play better ? That's question #1 ... My other question is seeing as our LB corp is a weakness on defense what would it hurt to try Merriman at his old position on certain blitz packages ? Use him not only as a DE but in certain situations him in at OLB not only to confuse opponents defenses & keep them guessing but to utallize a guy that has some pretty deep experience at a position that at one time he was 1 of the best at that position & now we don't use his experience at that position at all . I know he was mainly a 3/4 LB but what is the main difference between how he would perform as a 4/3 SLB or OLB or a 3/4 SLB ? (is he to slow for 4/3 OLB , is there too much to learn ?) He is a football player . Is it really so much different that we couldn't use his experience & athleticism in that position in a sub package for blitzes ? I don't really totally understand the thinking behind moving him to a different position , i know they want him to be a pass rusher which he was & is but IF we have weaknesses that we are trying to address why not at least try it ?? If for nothing else to throw a curve give other teams something else to have to game plan against or am i missing something ?? Well there are a couple of questions for you all to answer , call me stupid if you would like (i've been called it before) but you don't know unless you ask !!

Spiller or Jackson or both Levetrie or Byrd possibly & maybe K WIlliams but beyond that you got nothin !!!!
