  1. There some things in B/lo this year that could look quite similar to what happened in another AFC east team a decade ago . You all know where i'm going with this . Back in the day a first round pick was chosen to be the face of the franchise (Bledsoe) & as they say the back up QB is just an injury away from being the starter (Brady) just as it happened in NE Oh so long ago . With what we have seen so far i hope that EJ is the guy in B/lo for a long time , but we have a Tuel in the shed that may come in very handy at some point in time this season or in seasons to come you never can tell . Jeff Tuel has shown something in his first pro game & that is that he isn't afraid to chuck the rock down field, which he proved with his 212 yds & 2 TD's last week . This also makes me feel pretty good if we have to look to another QB to carry the team for a while & if the unforeseen should happen that history repeats itself but with another team in the AFC east . I see Kolb as no more than a security blanket, stop gap, Ace in the hole, no matter what you want to call him but i don't see him hanging around for a bunch of years unless he comes on the cheap side of things . How cool would that be for our Bills to have 3 + Super Bowl VICTORIES in the next ten + years ? I don't know about you all but i could dig it !!! Well i don't really see the stars aligning in the same way as they did in New England but there are some similarities . I am just way hyped about this season & anticipate a above average season for our Bills !! OK have at it cut me up in typical Bills fans fashion . Hey i can have a dream can't i ???
  2. Wow i never thought i would here this but i did on the NFL network Warren Sapp is giving some love to our Bills . Usually we r the butt end of his discussions . Just a bit earlier he was getting on Jairus Byrd for not showing up at camp (which i even kind of liked that) If you didn't get a chance to check it out yet DO he was giving EJ , CJ , & Goodwin a bit of love in the high light section . I hope that the direction of the team can turn some of the other so called experts opinions around to give us a bit more love instead of always being the team they put down in their commentary . GO BILLS !!!!
  3. C Ya Brad wouldn't want to B Ya !! Go with all the youth we can get put all of the old stuff behind us !!
  4. That sounds like something D J would do !! At least trade him & get some thing for him man thats a no brainer !!
  5. I think they were planning on using that to keep Byrd but he & his agent are asking for record money for a safety , which the Bills are not willing to pay .. Hopefully this will be the beginning of them using their heads a bit more when it comes to certain contract signings , b/c after the Kelsay, Fitz, B Smith, Anderson contract fiasco's we need a bit more caution for lack of a better word when it comes to contracts !! Plus with all that dead money from Anderson & Fitz moved to next year i suppose if CJ has a great season as all are thinking he will , if he holds out due to him out performing his rookie contract the Bills we be in a world of S**T due to prior contract ignorants . If that be the case who ever is responsible for Fitz, Anderson, screw up needs to lose their job ASAP !!!
  6. Man that seems like the Bills luck , spend all that money for a player then he gets hurt & has to sit out for a considerable period of time while taking wheel barrel loads of money to the bank , that sucks !! Better the Titans than the Bills !!
  7. I thought i had it bad just checking it 2 or 3 times a day & on a bad day 5 WOW !! I guess my fandom was just humbled ... Hopefully your wife is a fan too, if not she is probably pissed at you most of the time...
  8. We aren't saving any cap room ! This year we still get hit with 1.9 mill just a part of his guaranteed money not to mention what they are paying for Fitz this year .. Then next year they will absorb the rest of the 2 contracts in the cap so we won't have much if any wiggle room at all . I just hope all this crap is taken care of before we have to resign CJ . That contract is a must & will be rather large to keep him here !!!
  9. Well our favorite ex Bill will be getting back on the field this year in Philly & even though they took the highly touted tackle Lane Johnson in the draft this year they will be starting him at RT . With what Chip Kelly is implementing in Philly with the new fast paced offense similar to what he had in Oregon my question is, how do you think Peters will do in such as fast paced O ? Do you think his old Fat A** will be able to keep up the Kelly pace or do you think he will peter out ? I think they may need to put the kid from RT to LT to give the old guy a blow & the kid will eventually over take him & they will wind up trading Peters to another team for a draft pick to get some one younger ... I think before it's over we will all once again here & see the true JP, whining in some interview of how the pace of the offense is to fast & they need to sow it down . Sure he is one of the better LT's in the league (i wouldn't go as far as to say he is THE BEST) but i do think he is a top the charts when it comes to whining i could be wrong or that could be just my jaded opinion b/c of what he did while here. If he would have done what Byrd is doing & just hushed up i think i would have been able to handle him a bit better but to do it (wasn't it) not just once but twice (meaning hold out) . Any way we have already talked enough about that . So how do you think he will fare in the new uptempo O in Philly ??
  10. I think Byrd is a good players but doesn't deserve top 5 money . Some of this stalemate may have come from the Fitz debacle of which the FO should have learned from . I would love for Byrd to stay with the team but as Sapp said "if the team that has watched you practice & play do not believe you are top 5 then sign your tender & come back & prove that you are worth the money" I'll go with that & if he holds out past the start of camp make him a one year offer & the minute he signs it trade him for 2 #1 picks & use those to get the first over all next year & grab Clowney ... End of story !! GO BILLS !!!
  11. Well if you read into his statement on Rogers it almost sounds as if he will be on the team this year one way or another ...
  12. I think the best thing i've heard out of the entire Byrd saga is to get him a one year contract & trade him for a pair of number one picks & then trade those for next years first round & get Clowney for our D !! GO Bills
  13. I don't know that Mario is as much of a factor as the fact that they screwed the team by jumping way to fast & giving Fitz the contract that they did . Now that they have to absorb the Fitz contract on next years cap that is what is really screwing up the works, not just as far as Byrd but could prove trouble next year in keeping others that have their contracts coming up. Not to mention what would happen say if CJ rushes for over 2K this year & he decides he has out played his contract & decides to hold out for a new contract what then. The Fitz contract again comes into play !! So i think there is more to it than Mario , i believe past mistakes could come back to haunt the Bills . The only saving grace might be is if something like that does happen they can cut veterans like Freddy J , B Smith & others that may have a chunk of money that they can save by cutting them ...
  14. I was listening to the interview on the John Murphy show on BB.com, he had John Clayton on talking about the flaws in the Franchise tag system . In their conversation it was mentioned that former Bills GM Bill Pollian said you shouldn't over invest at certain positions on a team . Guard & safety being 2 of them. Given that & what the Bills did with the Fitz contract (a blatant blunder in contract 1-0-1) that had no past worthy of the contract given & as discussed here many times before the front office jumped way to quick in the situation brought me to thinking of what is coming up in the future . Seeing as next year the Fitz hit will be on the cap (then as discussed in a Rumblings article) Woods & others contracts coming up quickly such as CJ, although the possibility of having 2 years left on his current contract & he could very well either decide not to play as to hold out for a more deserving contract (& i might add deservedly so) In the article on Rumblings it said the Bills can in act some clause in CJ's contract that would allow them to keep CJ an extra year at a lessor cost, which i don't see him playing for a lessor amount especially if he continues to do what he has been doing . So do they (the Bills) jeopardize in some sense the future of the team in other ways by over investing in a position that experts have said that you shouldn't over invest in ? Or do they just pay because we the fans think they should because we really like the player ? Or should they follow suit as the 49ers did with Golston & look just to develop another player such as {insert name here} to take the position & concentrate on righting the quick triggered movements that maybe adding to a tough decision for our future ? Heres where you give your 2 cents GO !!
  15. Poz performed better in the middle than the dude from LSU we just traded to the Colts !!
  16. I was wondering with all the talk about a certain Bills player & his contract talk just how many other players that could have had a long career with the Bills were let go in the not to distant past that could have helped to keep our team much more rellevent if we would have come off the cash ... Now i do realize that there would have been no way we could have kept all of these guys due to the cap but i'm just trying to think of something to talk about to fill the dead time till the season starts so dig in ... I'll start with a few that i can think of off the top of my head : Antione Winfield Jabari Greer Jason Peters - UHG even though i can't stand the guy !! Poz Nate Clemens Andy Levetrie O.K your turn Go Bills fans !!!
  17. So then whats your take on a new stadium for the Bills ??? Just asking don't get all pissy .. Ditto to you sir ...
  18. Hopefully the Bills as a team moving forward have learned from mistakes like this & others in the past & won't have any more blunders as far as this & giving away Carder & Asper that we let walk so he could be put on the practice squad . 2 more draft picks wasted , Asper could have taken Levetries place on the O line ...
  19. So in the AFC east we all know what the Patriots have been to the AFC east & who they are with Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, & Aron Hernandez , but our opening game this year may beginning to look a whole lot different wouldn't you say. I think it was going to be entirely different just given the fact of all of our new pieces & parts, but if you throw in what could be in the Pats future ??? If the Pats go into this season with all 3 gone now, depending on what has happened here of late in the Patriots camp (Gronks surgery , Hernandez) i know Bills fans (along with other teams in the east) will be even more stoked about our home opener this year . I for one am just wondering how they will look with the possibility of all those offensive weapons not being able to be called upon during the game & even more the possibility of a good part of the season if that is how it works out . I do know though NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE HOODY !! You always hate to see a player hurt & not be able to contribute, but as sick of the Pats as we all are we can have a bit of joy in it . But i would like our Bills to beat them straight up B/C then there would be no excuses to the fact that we did it with out them fielding their normal roster . But hey a win is a win !! GO BILLS !!
  20. Do you really think that the all mighty dollar isn't behind this movement ? When the name was thought up it wasn't thought of as derogatory, i'm thinking it was due to the pride & strength of "The Redskin Nation" it was due to there toughness & determination against there advisory . But just as anything alls it takes is a few to start a movement with more than likely greed as the true motivation as i believe it to be in this case !! As to your first couple of lines in this post Redskins is no where even close to as derogatory as the things you put down & if it was then & only then should it be changed ! But putting the Washington Redskins in the same category of being derogatory as The Harlem Spooks when it comes to a name lets get real !! This is just about as foolish as not putting speedy gonzales cartoons off the air !!
  21. Should the Chicago Black Hawks name be changed , should the Atlanta Braves name be changed , should the Cleveland Indians name be changed ?? This entire movement is as ignorant as it is to hate some one for the color of their skin !! If it was actually degrading people maybe but it was used as a symbol of pride & strength not to mention heritage . What it amounts to is some one will eventually show their true colors & start a law suit for money (if it hasn't already) & then we will see the true motivation behind this changing of the name thing . Tell those involved that there will be no cash reward of any kind just the actual renaming of the team & i would be willing to bet that it would go away faster than it came about !!
  22. Hey did you here about Jim Kelly ??
  23. I am oh so glad we didn't take this guy !! So many on here were P Oed that we didn't but may be changing their tune ...
