Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL
Not at the table Karlos replied to MJS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dropping a bunch of fat and gaining strength doesn’t improve athletic ability? Why do athletes do exactly that every year before the combine to improve their scores? Watch Epenesa in college and in the pros. Completely different. His get off is a lot faster, he’s not as stiff. Landon looks pretty stiff as well in college. Also never said it would up his score from a 4 to a 9 I said it would be closer. -

I’m not disagreeing with you but Epenesa has also completley transformed his body from a power rusher to more of a speed rusher. Epenesa did all of his drills at like 280lbs. Jackson plays at 280-290 but dropped weight for the combine to time better. I feel if Epenesa did his drills at his current weight his RAS would be closer. -
I think it’s more Reid knows McDermotts tendencies and knows how to exploit them.

While I agree with most of this. It’s not what the conversation was about that Beane was listening and reacting to. But they weren’t surprised at the first few rounds. They were fine with that. What they were talking about was moving up in the later rounds to get one. I’m guessing they were talking about Royals or Horton.
-
No. Nobody said they had to pick one. Beane overreacted to listening to only a small part of the show before going on. Nobody said they absolutely had to draft a receiver at ____ spot. Just that they were surprised one wasn’t drafted until the 7th after doing all the pre draft stuff and saying they needed more speed. wtf
-
They just said it was odd that they spent that many resources pre draft looking at receivers then didn’t make a move for one. Beane also said in the same interview they waited on doing anything with Moore until after the draft incase they took one in first two rounds. So Beane admitted they were looking at receivers then goes off on the hosts for saying exactly what Beane did. Beane heard a small bit of what they were saying and overreacted. Pretty much everyone was surprised they didn’t take a receiver earlier with how much time they spent on them. Beane then acted like they’re set at receiver. Later contradicting himself saying they’re bringing Moore in for a visit and they held it off incase they drafted a receiver early. So why is it so crazy to think they’d draft a receiver with all of their actions?

They’re not wrong and Beane pretty much admitted it in the same interview. If Stephen A is siding with you, you may need to take another look at your take.

If he was throwing rainbows and they were getting blown off track you may be on to something but he’s not. He throws them low and hard. It’s very hard to be accurate on go routes the way he throws them. Even if he is accurate it’s tough to track and catch for the receiver because the ball is coming low and fast behind your head. If it’s not perfectly accurate it’s sailing over their head. He also has the problem on the road and in domes. So it’s not the wind.

This is a very underwhelming draft. -

People are thinking Walker is this big run stuffer. He’s not he’s a big 3 tech. But the bills like penetrating lineman. -

This guy doesn’t get low enough. He’s pretty much Jordan Phillips -

He’s not really a 1 tech tho. He’s like Jordan Phillips. Big but a better 3. -
Felton and Williams were drafted already The Bills only have one 4th. They’d need one or both of the 5ths to move up depending how far. Both 5ths with the 4th would get you to the second pick in the round.

Bishop is still a question mark even though he played better later in the year. He still has a ways to go. Rapp is ok I guess but gets hurt. Neither can really cover one on one. IIRC Bishop is only one under contract for 2026.

TSW 3.0 Poll - Who should the Bills take at #26
Not at the table Karlos replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not to derail the thread but Idk how much of a fit he is at LB unless he changes his mindset. He’s big but watching him he doesn’t really like to play the run. Kinda waits for others to do it and cleans up if necessary. Don’t have notes on him in front of me but IIRC his block shedding needed a lot of work and wish he was much more aggressive when attacking downhill. -
Have had this same thing happen a few times over the last 5 years.
