I agree with this. This was one game where I thought cj actually ran hard to the hole and didn't dance or try to break it outside. There was just a defender there to tackle him because the line played horrible.

if they were trying to be a power run team than why did they put converted tackles at guard where they have less leverage and push in the run game. Why do they throw 40+ times a game. Why do they ignore the guard position that is important for power running. This offensive coaching staff doesn't know what they want to be. They throw **** at the wall and hope for the best. Why do we try to run out of shotgun if we want to be a running team. why do we only have 3 running plays? This offense is the exact opposite of what I am talking about

just curious as to why a run first coach would be risky. IMO teams now are built to stop the pass and rush the passer I think a strong running team would do well against this type of defense. A strong running team would keep the time of possession in our favor the opposing qb off the field and our defense well rested. it is much easier to build a strong o-line and find a good running back than it is finding a quarterback. it also takes the pressure off of a young QB. We are built to be a running team with our strong defense. if we had a decent run game and not throw the ball 40+ times a game we would be in the playoffs.

Since he became president we have had a better roster than we have had since the 90s. We have the best record since the early 2000s. I have no problem with him staying. My only problem with him and any one in the front office is they haven't found a qb or been trying very hard to find one. He wasn't very good as a gm but as team president he has been fine

I disagree. Spiller was averaging what -8 yards and hasn't been good at short yardage since Hackett got here. Spiller would have trouble getting that one yard from the shotgun the way the O line has been playing in that game. With Fred or Boobie it at least gives you that short yard threat along with receiving ability. If I'm the defensive coordinator in that situation I am watching for a screen or short pass to the flat and putting a linebacker exactly where the linebacker was that broke up the pass. With Fred or Boobie I would have been more worried about the run. however this is Hackett and he makes absolutely no sense with substitutions and play calling. Everyone at the house was screaming at the TV because we knew exactly what they were going to do and it was stupid.

spiller started when Chan was here and produced. Hackett doesn't know how to adapt to the players he has. He thinks round pegs fit into square holes and it will work. With Adequate coaching we would be in the playoffs.

I am in the fire Hackett crowd. However there are a bunch of plays where receivers are running wide open and the qb doesn't hit them. I think a lot of that has to to with Hackett drilling don't make mistakes, don't risk an interception by throwing deep and take the check downs. Also there are a bunch of plays where the play design makes absolutely no sense for the down and distance. His refusal to run or use a qb sneak on 3rd and 1. There are the misuse of players strengths along with his fetish for attacking the opponents strength and barely attacking the weakness.

He has potential. But if he were a bill we would be tearing him to pieces right now clamoring for a new qb.

I would like Ron wolf. The guy understands quarterback is the most important position and would help Whaley with that. We need to be drafting quarterbacks every year until we have a good one then keep drafting more as insurance.

He missed that throw because there was a defender in between the receiver and qb... horrible play call by the worst oc in the history of football
